r/Iran stands with Iranians in defending our country’s national sovereignty
Dear readers,
We hope that you are safe and well. Some of you have asked us about the protests, and we’d like to share the following statement with you.
Peaceful protests by Iranians expressing legitimate grievances have once again been hijacked. Violent riots are being encouraged and enabled by foreign-backed actors immune to their consequences. They threaten the safety and security of every Iranian and cause costly damage to public infrastructure and an economy already suffering from crushing sanctions.
The genocidal Israeli regime killed 1,200 Iranian civilians in June. Those who stood silent and even cheered on these killings now claim to act in defense of Iranians as they call for even more attacks on Iran.
Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq, and scores of other countries, most recently Venezuela, attest to the consistent outcome of foreign interference: chaos, instability, destruction, and immeasurable suffering.
Foreign-backed riots in 1953 changed the course of our nation’s trajectory. Let’s not be doomed by repeating tragic history.
No one can trick us into welcoming attacks on Iran.
Long live Iran, Iranians, and Iranian sovereignty!

Sorry if this comes across as insensitive but how are ordinary Iranians coping with the possibility of war starting again?
I'm not Iranian, but I'm a Shia Muslim who loves Iran and used to visit every few years and had to cancel my trip in Ramadan. Every time there's a negative update about the war or new threats from Trump I get anxious thinking about the people there.I don't mean to be insensitive. I just want to know how people are coping with this because I'm having a hard time thinking about the possibility of the war starting again.

Is it alright if I were to say Persian instead of Iranian?
I apologize if I sound uneducated but I was just wondering if it were alright to call someone from Iran Persian rather than Iranian. I do not intend for this to be rude at all but I feel Persian rolls of the tongue a bit better. If there is an underlying reason as to why you don't identify as Persian, I totally understand and will say Iranian with no apprehension whatsoever.

Why Iranian driving is so, tough? How can fault be determined incase of accident?
Salam everyone,
Hope yall doing good! I was curious to know and learn why is Iranian driving seems so, tough for a westerner who plans to visit Iran 🇮🇷 ? I was planning to visit Iran in few months and the most toughest thing that actually shook me up is the driving part. I don’t see anyone following any rules while watching the videos so, was curious to know how do insurance companies in Iran determine who is at fault usually?
Has anyone born or raised from west been successful at driving in Iran while they were visiting? If yes please feel free to share your insights here!
Here’s one of the few videos I watched on YouTube:
What types of gifts and on what dates/holidays could I give a gift to my Iranian doctor?
Hello, I hope this post is acceptable.
I am an American who lives in the United States of America. One of my doctors is an Iranian immigrant. He has helped me so very much in my health, and my gratitude to him is immense. I would like to present him with a gift/thank you card. In the USA, gifts are frequently given on Christmas in a secular fashion even though it's technically a Christian holiday. I thought it'd be nice to surprise him by either (1) giving him a gift/thank you card on an appropriate Iranian holiday, or (2) giving him a "classic" Iranian gift (not sure of my terminology - something that's be very common to give in Iran but not in other countries, for example). Or both!
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
