Super stoked: hooked a 43cm perch today. Never seen that fish at that size! Something I always dreamed of 🥹
It was quite fat and very healthy looking. Thought I had a decent pike but it was this tank. Gotta love that autumn rain and them creature baits!!

The bite was on at our hunt camp this past week. We caught all week but these were the last 3 I landed back to back to back on big Len Thompson spoons.

After telling myself that I wouldn’t go fishing and would relax instead, I did what I always do and changed my mind no more than five minutes later. Today’s session nearly resulted in a blank (well apart from somebody else’s snapped off line)

Been using larger lures then normally as i want to avoid the smaller pike anything u people would suggest? Fishing mostly in the baltic from shore and small lakes from a boat my rod is a 40g to 120g rating

Can experienced musky fisherman tell me why muskies are the "fish of a thousand casts" while pike are the fish of every cast in many lakes ? Is it because pike simply outnumber muskies in most areas ? Both are related biologically and very similar, but pike seem to attack anything while muskies are notoriously finicky. I've been trying to catch a trophy musky for the last two summers with no luck, but have caught several big pike - almost daily. Hoping to get the answer from experienced musky fishermen.

Ive started fishing on this small pier (fresh water) where there's a ton of huge bass, the biggest probably 1 kg,i threw my whole box at them and i managed to get only one single bite with live Worms (he came off) a kid next to me somehow manager to get more than 3 bites and Always had fish following. I changed lure size, color and retrieve,i'm not really an Expert can somebody tell me if i am doing something wrong,or just any tip to maybe make fish a little more interested?

Looking for my first swimbait rod. Looking to throw baits in the 1-3 ounce range, both wedge tail and glide baits. From my research the top two rods under $175 are the slxa and the dobyns 806. Would I need a 300 size reel to throw baits that size or would a Curado 200 be fine? Any other recommendations?

I was wondering if any Long Island folks could tell me if the sound is okay for fish with winds like 10 - 15 mph winds. I don’t want to head out for nothing and want a heads up on what to expect if I’m fishing for striper on the sound. More specifically Southold/ far north fork Suffolk Country region.

Every time this carp touches my feeder, it suddenly darts away.
What do you think could be causing this? Have you ever seen a carp react like this?

42 inch Musky. It took months of fishing in all kinds of weather, morning and night to finally catch one. I was in the kayak with my small net so I had to scoop it up the old fashioned way. I wasn't set up to get any good pictures with it, this was the best one. It was hooked perfectly in the lip so I was surprised it actually stayed on. It put up one hell of a fight and was jumping like crazy. Caught on a number 5 bucktail spinner. Best day ever.

Tonight I tried fishing for crappie at night with some success I caught two in a little over half an hour by shining my flashlight onto the water to attract bugs then casting a trout magnet near the feeding fish. I’m wondering if anyone prefers night fishing for crappie to morning or evening and if anyone has advice for catching them at night

What can I throw off a 6'6 medium rod at night to catch what? I'd bring my surf rod and throw anchovies but I don't have the time to sit and wait for a bite (this time)

I thinned out a blank that if already made and bound it in enameled wire. I took the reel holder off a broken rod and discovered that they are lined with eva foam to prevent stress on the rod so I emulated that. The hand grip is the same piece of bycycle handle wrap. Same champagne cork.
Intially I played with a fly reel and line but no one will be surprised that it didn't work super well. Definitely possible but there is a good reason fly rods are so long.
With the spinning reel and a propeller floating bait, works great. Caught 2 bass on my lunch break in the rain. Good times.
We'll see how long before this one snaps. I've learned that there is a specific species of bamboo that I'm supposed to use and I'm not sure I'll ever want to invest that much.
