ill get it started off,
I'll start by saying that if the 110 bite is on it easily takes 1st hands down but overall enjoy the style of fishing with level minnows and pointers. having a jerk you can tug on a bit harder just feels right and is way more fun when you can get away with it with warmer water. however if they want a 110 the bite is just way to consistent. my big gripe with 110s is having to dial the drag back to save the hooks and also the blow out you get if you get aggressive on the slack line.
Honorable mentions to x-rap and nishine erie 115

What would be a better rig for fishing a inlet filling up for perch and maybe walleye? a 3 way swivel rig or Carolina rig? going to use part of a worm for bait.

I ordered these #8 circle hooks and have been waiting all week for them to arrive. For reference, the drawing is an approximate size of a #2 circle hook. I was looking for smaller ones. 8 is smaller than 2 right? This is easily a #1 hook in #8 packaging. Do I just not know hook sizes? What do I do? Is this right or is it a mislabeled package?

I have a diawa seagate sgt20h conventional reel that I bought second hand but I need a reel clamp to attach it correctly on my rod I’ve been Frankensteining it with zip ties and hose clamps the past 2 times I’ve used it but of course that doesn’t work. Any recommendations on a reel clamp that’ll fit a 1 inch diameter rod

This might be Daiwa’s single most exciting release in a while! All its new designs are incredible cool and very fun to see.
A full redesign of the IAR bearing together with the more compact body is super exciting. The IAR even looks serviceable!!! When was the last time that happened?!
The spool is made with thicker line in mind as well as thinner. That’s wonderful news, for the more traditional bait finesse styles. It’s not a reel made to throw ultralight, but it still has a spool weighing 6.3 g. It will be a nice short range caster.
The most exciting detail though? A redesigned Zero Adjuster, where they just remove the mechanical brake capability whatsoever. The benefit is that we now can access the pinion bearing!!! What a joy to see. This is one of those bearings that require a lot of service. Amazing news to hear it’s accessible.
This also allowed Daiwa to redesign the pinion gear. It no longer needs to make space for a zero adjuster pin. Instead, the beefed up the pinion gear. That’s a super interesting design change! Durability-wise it’s really significant.
Big fan of this new Daiwa project. The single most exciting reel release in a couple of years.
Retail seems to be ¥82000. That’s about $517 or €461 if you buy it in Japan. A very pricy reel! Personally, I think this one might be worth it if you want an ultra refined finesse reel. It’s packed fully with new tech and with service in mind.

I'm working on a lightweight hooded fishing shirt and would like some honest input on the design. I work on the clothing side, so I'm trying to learn what actually matters on the water.
What's the one thing that bugs you most about the shirt you currently fish in? A specific example from a hot day would be really helpful, along with whether you were fishing from a boat, shore, or kayak and if it was humid or dry.
I'm also curious about two things:
If you've worn both bamboo/viscose and polyester sun shirts, how did they compare once sweaty or wet?
What feature would you definitely keep, and what turned out to be pointless?
No need to answer all of that. Even one thing you wish manufacturers would fix would help.

Lews American Hero Camo Baitcast-Bass Fishing
Just wanting to gather some opinions and information anyone one might have pertaining to this baitcaster. I've used and am familiar with quite a few of Lews baitcasters including the Lews custom pro and Lews custom lite. I've also been fortunate enough to use and familiarize myself with shimanos curado baitcasters the DC and the regular one. Just wanting to know any opinions some might have, what others use it for, what it might compare to, etc. And at the moment I haven't used it or put on any line or attached it to any rod so any recommendations for those as well would be appreciated. All are used for bass fishing in the south on lakes, few rivers and occasionally ponds.
