DC Looking for 2BD/2BA apartment with a view of Washington Monument or Capitol
Hi everyone! As the title suggests, I’m looking for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with a view of the Washington Monument or the Capitol. I would prefer to stay in DC but open to VA if there are good apartment options that are close to DC. Please drop your recommendations below!
Update: I would like a view from my apartment not the rooftop.

DC Looking for 1br/1ba, moving to the area in December! Don't care about amenities at all. Just lowest rent.
Hello! 36 y/o m who is familiar with the DMV as I grew up here but moved at 20. I'm looking to move back to the area from Vegas and I'm looking for a 1bd/1ba apartment!
I am extremely low maintenance so I do not care for amenities as due to my job, I won't be home too much anyway! Just really need a place to call home aka where the wifi connects automatically.
Under $1500/mo would be ideal and I don't care about area either.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

DC HELP! Neighborhood advice
Recently moved to DC and I am living in AdMo. I absolutely love the neighborhood feel, it’s cute, it has tons of stuff to do and super walkable. BUT I have rat phobia (like extremely) so I am really not happy or even comfortable with my current living situation (small old apartment right on 18th street). I didn’t know any of this prior to move in (coming from suburbs in Main Line Philly and my home country does not have this kind of problem I swear). I am considering moving somewhere else because I honestly feel like If I stay I will ended up just hating and staying in my room the whole time. Are there any recommendations for neighborhoods that still have a lively vibe to it (restaurants, things to do on a weekend, workout studios) but less rats? I know completely free rats situation is impossible in a big east coast city but for me it is really hard to enjoy anything (on my first night in the apartment I could hear a rat fight outside my bedroom window that faces the alley)

Where are you finding decent 1-bedroom apartments for under $2,000 in DC or commuter-friendly areas nearby?
I’m looking for recommendations for a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment and would love to hear from people who have actually lived in the buildings they recommend!
I’ve been searching rental websites and reading Reddit threads, and it’s been surprisingly difficult to find a well-maintained one-bedroom for under $2,000, especially in a building with amenities.
I’m coming from a luxury apartment building in NoMa, so I’d love to find somewhere that still feels modern, comfortable, and well-managed without paying luxury-building prices.
My preferences:
• Ideally under $2,000/month, with a maximum budget of $2,500 including utilities!
• A true 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom (open to a spacious studio for a great deal)
• In-unit washer and dryer (non-negotiable)
• A well-maintained, secure building with responsive management
• Amenities like a gym, rooftop, pool, package room, or balcony would be a plus
• Preferably not a basement or ground-floor unit
• Open to older buildings if they’re well-maintained and offer good value
Location-wise, I’m flexible! I’m open to DC and commuter-friendly areas in Maryland, particularly along the Green Line or Camden Line toward Columbia, MD, as well as the Red Line into Silver Spring. Convenient access to Metro, MARC, or other reliable commuting options is important to me.
I’m especially interested in privately owned condos for rent, smaller buildings, rent-controlled buildings, and communities that might fly under the radar rather than just the large luxury apartment complexes.
If you love where you live, I’d appreciate the building name, approximate rent, neighborhood, and anything I should know about management, maintenance, pests, commuting, or additional monthly fees.
I’m willing to pay more for a place that’s genuinely worth it, but I’d prefer to keep my monthly housing costs as low as possible. Thanks in advance!
