Dhokla > Thanatos

• Upvotes

What good is being a top tier laner when you abandon your carries and can’t peel for shit in team fights? At least Dhokla shows up vs the Eastern team Tops. Cocky Thanatos needs a reality check

League I understand the anger, but how about some positivity?

• Upvotes

Whats with all the negative nancys?? I am proud of the progress we made over this year...

1) Beat inspired in a bo5 and it wasnt close...

2) Got to worlds

3) Took a game off our arch enemy Furia!

The effort with which our """fans""" try to look at this year in a negative light needs to be studied... crazy... learn to think positive

I really wish it wasn't double elimination. At least it would be against eu and to game 5. This sings so much.

Congrats on improving your winrate vs BR from a zero-digit winrate to a barely-double-digits winrate.

Hot take from a C9 hatewatcher

I`m not here to gloat or kick you guys when you are down, but to offer genuine advice.

As a good hate watcher I read a lot of your posts and I know that a lot of you aren`t happy with how the teams revolved around Blabber for so long without any results. So here`s my genuine advice to the org and fans to solve that issue and even get revenge against Furia: Buy Tatu`s contract.

He`s a young player, has better english than any LCK import (even those that have played in the league for years), he`s mechanically gifted, has a huge following and he has that C9 spice that the old players used to have. The arrogance and trash talk the players had knowing they are best in the top organization (at least back then).

League Still Cloud9 ✊

I’m heartbroken. I’m disappointed with this year, with Worlds, and with how far away we feel from the Cloud9 I fell in love with. And I think what makes this hurt so much is that I’ve been here long enough to remember everything this team can mean.

My fandom started when Balls, Meteos, Hai, Sneaky, and LemonNation qualified for the NA LCS in 2013. I watched those five come into the league and take over. The goofy personalities, the confidence, the way they played together. That was the beginning of something I had no idea would still mean this much to me all these years later.

I remember Hai’s collapsed lung and Link stepping in for All-Stars. I remember the rivalries with TSM, the finals, the wins, and the losses that stayed with you long after you closed the stream. I remember watching that original roster slowly become a memory and wondering what Cloud9 would look like without the players who made me a fan.

Then came more reasons to believe. Hai coming back in the jungle. The 2015 gauntlet run. Reverse sweeps that felt impossible until somehow we were watching them happen. This team taught me that counting them out too early was a mistake.

I remember the years when Worlds meant hoping Cloud9 could carry NA just a little further. Getting out of groups when we were already written off. Giving us another series, another week, another reason to set an alarm and believe.

And then there was 2018.

Watching us sweep Afreeca and make Worlds semifinals is something I’ll never forget. For a moment, a Worlds final felt within reach. Then Fnatic ended the run, and it hurt—but we had gone far enough to dream about something that big. I was so proud of that team.

I’ve watched the rosters change, favorites leave, and new players give us reasons to care. I’ve watched us finally lift the trophy again after years of waiting, and I’ve watched seasons full of promise fall apart. Through all of it, I’ve kept coming back.

That’s why tonight hurts. There are years of memories behind the disappointment. I know what it feels like to watch this team make us proud, and I want so badly to feel that again.

I don’t want us to live off the past forever. I want better for this team. I want a Cloud9 that earns its place at the top of NA and goes to Worlds ready to fight for something. Loving this team doesn’t mean pretending this year was good enough.

But I also can’t pretend I’ll ever stop caring.

I still dream about another trophy. Another Worlds run that has us all losing our minds together. Another moment where the rest of the region has fallen and everyone turns toward that blue-and-white logo because there’s still a chance.

I want to hear “NA’s last hope” and know they mean us again.

I don’t know when that day comes. But when it does, I want to be here; the same fan who watched those original five qualify in 2013, still cheering for the team they made me fall in love with.

Until then, I’ll be disappointed. I’ll be frustrated. And when the next season starts, I know I’ll find myself believing again.

After all these years, I still dream in blue.

It just hurts tonight. Real bad.

Changes are necessary beyond results

I am genuinely pleading with Jack to understand that we have reached a point where if you don’t make an immense overhaul of the team’s roster, and of the staff to some degree, then this team will have almost no meaningful fanbase going forwards.

At this point it’s not even a question of results anymore. The viewers and fans are so emotionally spent on nearly all of these players after 3 full years of relentless disappointment and zero improvement to their core issues, that even winning a split will feel hollow if it’s with this team. There desperately needs to be a core overhaul to give fans something fresh to root for and something new to hope for.

I’m saying this as probably the biggest Blabber fan ever and someone that still believes in nearly all of these players individually, they simply can’t stay on this team if you want fans to still cheer for you. If you try to run this back, it won’t even matter if you succeed because there won’t be anyone still left to celebrate. Please realize that it’s not just about results anymore, it’s about the fans being genuinely bored of this group.

I’m immensely grateful for all the awesome memories a lot of these players have brought us, but you need to know when to move on.

League Just rebuild everything from scratch, the rot is already too much that replace a part or two won't do anything and some long rant if you want to read

Just rebuild the team from scratch, I would say that this whole team aside from the coaching staff and maybe Vulcan (he is good but his mental is clearly weak), the rest need to go. I actually don't think it's the coaches faults for bad draft since yeah there are some iffy draft but I don't think it's 100% their input. Imo, the reason that this team can't for the love of god play any deadball or easy to play comp is because the veteran presence in this team (Blaber) genuinely don't know how to play any other way. Like, the draft that I seen from Dom and Yamato is better than our past coaches and have more nuance but if we look at it at the core, it's still the same strong early game draft that fit how our veterans want to play the game. So, if changing coaches and even changing multiple players only result in these comps that fit the essence of how our veterans want to play, I actually think we need to get rid of them and start from scratch. Players like Jojo and Berserker moving away from our team and they suddenly are able to play new picks that we won't ever see them picking in Cloud9 and I don't think that's because the coaches telling them to do so and more of we aren't willing to play into these strength.

The veterans on this team legit have the worst mental and understanding of the game, they want to play aggressive but they never press their lead or hand check to balloon the lead or play safe to maintain it and keep picking the most random angle to throw away this lead. They always complicated their gameplan with high execution drafts idea (early game comp with extremely low damage or fall off extremely hard) despite them being so risk averse after 20 minutes that they always give their opponents angle to comeback. I legit never see a team play so badly with lead that they can't end with giga wincon the way C9 play. The fact that they can only play early game comp (that sometimes even have low damage) to stomp lane and have a weak mental mean that any team that pick a deadball comp against them will win eventually due to we can't accelerate/close out our lead due to random throw. Furia shows that perfectly today, and no, Furia is a shit team that can't even beat a team full of rookies from VCS, this Cloud9 team is just beyond dogshit with their weak mental.

Watch how a team full of kids like MVKE dismantling this Furia just by playing to hand check and don't worry about a single thing and they clapped this shitty Furia team 3-0 while we struggling to even win a game. Like why care about good macro when your opposition is dogshit just plain and simple draft good scaling and handcheck them. This tendency of overcomplication with both drafts and how to play the game is why everyone know that to counter C9 just pick a pure deadball comp and they will rollover due to the weak mental of our vets. NRG, SR, 100T, and now Furia has prove that what the haters (which including me) has been saying for years are true. Like, I don't know how Kratos, an extremely shit top and I know because I'm Vietnamese American and watch LCP, can goomba stomp this dogshit Guigo and we keep drafting meta toplaners for our carry top just for him to fold to Guigo because the meta picks that we pick can't stomp lane and the rest of the team also can't carry for shit.

Team need to rebuild because players like Thanatos and Loki has good mechanic but they don't have what it takes to get to the next step while veterans like Blaber and Tactical just look like pure ass. Considering the lack of good native jungler, I don't even mind if we just straight up import a jungle and use native toplaner like Srtty because at least with a middling top, we can still play weakside but with jungler like Blaber or carry like Tactical, we legit can't do anything because they are just bad rn. Idk which native mid or adc are available but if we import for one of them aside from jungle, we need someone that is extremely clutch or has potential for that. I don't know which player will be a good fit but we could considered players like About, Karis, Zest (if we can get a native mid), Calix, Zinie (raw but potential is there) are some potential players for our carry roles (adc/mid) and for jungler, if we can't get Gryffinn, try to use new guy like Yuuji or import someone with potential like Vincenzo, Painter or proven jungler like Raptor or Croco and use native players for the rest of the role. That's all that I can think of and thanks for reading this long post.

Edited: Added Zamudo and Horder to the pool of native top

League FUR JoJo after defeating C9: "I have no idea about what's wrong with [C9]. I feel like they... I don't know, they feel kinda lost in-game. [...] I don't think they are bad players at all, like individually. I think the group [maybe] can't handle pressure."

From an NAmen interview highlight posted on Twitter. I can't post it on the wider r/ lol subreddit because of spoilers, so for C9 fans who (smartly) don't have twitter, I decided to post it here. Let me know if you have any questions.

Q: Do you think C9 played at the same level today as yesterday?

JoJo: I'm not sure, I think they were playing better yesterday — but we were also playing really bad yesterday, so it's hard to judge them on that. But I felt like today they were... I don't know. They felt a little desperate, I think.

Q: I agree. Especially later in the series.

JoJo: Yeah. So I'm not sure if that's their level, you know? I'm just not sure. They seem very stressed.

Q: Honestly, what do you think is wrong with C9? NA fans are so mad at them right now.

JoJo: I have no idea about what's wrong with them. I feel like they... I don't know, they feel kinda lost in-game. Like sometimes, they're just like, “We have to group, we have to be together, let's do something as five” — and I don't think that's how the game works today.

I feel like they get lost in-game, and then they are just throwing the games, or putting themselves in bad spots. But I don't think they are bad players at all, like individually. I think the group is just... I don't know. Maybe they can't handle pressure.

League Vulcan has not qualified for Internationals since 2022 (Evil Geniuses Danny roster)

I am sick and tired of Vulcan getting a pass from criticism. He is a support, a veteran, AND HE CONSISTENTLY DRAGS HIS TEAM DOWN.

He will get coverage like "mvp" or something, but none of that matters because he can't bring in wins when they matter. No one cares about regular season, when you can't even qualify for internationals. He has negative intangibles. He is not a star player.

The last time Vulcan qualified for Internationals was in 2022 WITH EG Danny.

EG Danny. And sure Vulcan looked good (he is support, not the hardest role to look good on). But that was a team that carried Vulcan with Impact, Inspired, Jojopyun, and Danny.

Vulcan cannot lead a team on his own. He has shown this because

  • He bombed to last place with FlyQuest Prince (previously a first place team)

  • He bombed to not reach Worlds with Berserker (MVP ADC)

  • He bombed with Jojopyun and Berserker

  • And now he lost to BRAZIL

The dude cannot blame lack of talent for his losses. In fact, the only times he qualifies for Worlds it is because he is surrounded by some other magical intangible force (Clutch Gaming - Huni, Reignover, Damonte, CodySun some bs NA magic. C9 - Perkz intangibles. And EG).

That's it. Literally 4 teams. The only time I think he was a major contribution was in his 2020 Spring C9 roster where he and Zven played a bunch of WuKong bot. But even that C9 roster was 2nd place before Vulcan joined.

I am tired of Vulcan. Send him to a bottom team. Let him prove himself.

League C9 Dom is a bad coach and has no place in the professional environment.

Title.

Convince me otherwise.

This worlds has been an endless draft diff where they just draft teams with overly complex and unattainable wincon it’s almost embarrassing.

Can C9 hire someone who can actually coach and not just recycle old talent.

Can anyone who actually knows the orgs direction tell me what the goal is here with Dom and Yamato.

Who authorized Yamato to come to the US for weeks and burn tens of thousands in the process to look worse also?

Whoever handles risk management for C9 is terrible at their job.

Discuss?

Vulcan solo lost game 3

Furia were all chunked out and Tactical was disengaged all they had to do was chill and continue poking, but Vulcan flash engages for no reason and gives them a way in.

Without that Furia were checkmated and C9 gets Soul, the game and go 2-1 up.

Vulcan is not a calm veteran voice, because that is pure inexperience.

League Not an overreaction thread: 2027 Roster

Obviously a lot of emotional hate will happen from this loss, justifiable or not, eventually reality sets in and we move on. Just like last year and the year before and the year before. With that being said, early roster prediction for next season.

Coach: The dom experiment failed. The yomato experiment failed. Neither have ever seen an LCS trophy. Neither will. Good try at creating something there though. However after the lyon series composure dropped to an all time low, that starts from the top. I anticipate dom may stay and yomato leaves of course but I would like to see changes to both.

Top: It needs to be clear thanatos is not the issue but with this roster construction too many questions have to be answered by him. thanatos staying would be a net positive I believe but at this point all 5 are expendable. Domestically of course if visa issues pass and his NRG (Lyon) contracts are voided for whatever reason Zamudo would be a nice replacement I think zamudo is a solid candidate for a change, even if a downgrade from thanatos mechanically. Overseas we could look at Rooster as a sideways replacement, contract expires at the end of this year and an upgrade from shifters could be in the cards for him. A very long shot if Jack cares enough to make the investment in Haetae, current LCKC champion, would be the best replacement. Contract expiring this year and experience playing with Loki. Very very long shot but Haetae would be an incredible get to build with.

Jungle: Gryffinn is undoubtedly the best replacement if flyquest really blow up their young core. However any of these junglers instead of blaber next year will be a net positive: Jose Inspired KryRa Contractz Razork Skewmond Yike isma Elyoya Lyncas Rhilech, *adds Tatu*.

Mid: Loki

ADC: My candidate would be Massu. Massu is a solid piece who has championship experience and has been on the other side of C9 current roster constructions choke jobs. Although I dont think tactical is terrible, he had one single split to help get us back to a place we haven't been in 3 years. Tactical was not the issue despite some poor performance down the stretch. With that being said the tactical experiment should end here. Massu also has experience with gryffin, adding these two as a core together would offer much more upside growth than anybody else demoestically.

SUP: Vulcan is not the answer. He is not the issue either, but he is not the answer. It is clear these roadblocks the roster has are a product of the leadership down to the clutch plays. Vulcan is a fantastic support and keeping him offers more upside than downside, but the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. In the field of statistics it is well known that correlation is not causation, however Vulcan is now correlated to 3 consecutive disappointing years with C9. He may have MVP ability, that does not mean he is a core piece of a future championship roster. Move on. With that being said some candidates I would consider: Labrov, contract expiring and leadership, would be a great pick up. Lyonz, Namgung also has played with Loki this year and his contract is expiring, after all this team as an import slot left to fill. Not using it is just silly.

Ideal roster:

Top: Haetae
Jungle: Gryffin
Mid: Loki
ADC: Massu
Sup: Labrov

Like always nothing will happen, see you next year same time.

League Blaber Appreciation Post

I really hope this was his last game in a C9 uniform. He has been a cornerstone of this team for so long and I appreciate that from him but its time. Everyone has an expiration and even if people felt like it was years ago it definitely here. Its better for everyone him and us if we spilt. Thank you blaber for everything you done for us. I really wish you could have pulled through for us. Good luck on what ever team you go to next year but for everyone including yourself it shouldn't be c9. I know we wanna flame him and he deserves it but maybe we can just post some good memories like a send off for him. If you wanna vent and shit on him go ahead as well.
