I'm stuck brokering a solution for a customer between him, the general manager, parts manager, and service manager.

I am a salesman of 2 months at a small town Chevy dealership. Last week I had a phone up from a well informed buyer, wanted transparent out the door pricing on a 2026 Trax 2RS with his rebates. I asked if he was interested in discounted prepay maintenance and whatnot. Nope, does all his own shit. Great. The price you see online plus doc fee and tax. No problems.

BUT every vehicle off the lot has CarDoc Connect installed. I briefly explained it to him during our sit, and again while setting it up for him after he was out of finance office, but not overly so since he's not paying for it, and I'm positive he won't even use it (he was a Chevy tech for like 15 years).

It's basically a tracking device, maintenance reminder, and vehicle health diagnostic add on plugged into the OBD2 port and zip tied inside the dash.

He texted me a few days later asking me a bunch of questions like where is it? Can it be removed? Do I need it?

So I answered his questions to the best of mine and Google's ability. OBD2 port above the hood release, yes but never done it, not necessarily but its useful, yadda ya..

He sends me the picture above, "Your CarDoc install tech is a hack!!!"

He's not wrong. I'm not a service tech, but that is ugly as fuck. Sure the car design may not have made for an easy install, but everyone in the service dept I showed was baffled by this uncraftsmanlike display of laziness.

This guy is pissed that they had the gall to tear into a brand new vehicle like that. He wanted us to send him a replacement bracket to install himself.

Little did he know what was cut into was no small bracket, but a chunk of the entire dash- a $300 part + 10 hours of labor.

After we talked, he doesn't even really want the dash replaced. He's an hour away and has lost trust in our service dept, not to mention the multi-day headache.

Are there any other reasonable solutions here??

He mentioned having a family friend that may be able to adhere a 3d printed part, but is that juice even worth the squeeze?

I want to make things right but I am completely lost.

Discussion 2019 Equinox EU spec taillights?

I own a 2019 Equinox and I am curious if there are any EU spec tail lights with the amber turn signal since from what I've heard it's sold in other parts of the world like Asia and South America, I honestly feel like it would fit the car better since there's just an empty clear housing on the tail light that seems where an amber bulb would go.
Anyways, send me some of them that are stock and have an amber bulb option! Thanks!

Repair Help Chevy Silverado

My 2016 Silverado loses electrical power when I turn right. The dashboard flickers, the radio completely restarts, and the steering jerks back straight. It also say stabilizer track on the dash. Anyone got an idea of what this can be?

Discussion troubleshooting

((Please remove if not allowed, I went to Google first but its been like two months now and I can't find anything))

I'm a fairly new driver and have been driving for two months and got myself a 2014 Chevy Cruze LT (I know its not the best), but I bought it second hand and whenever I try to call my mom or my dad off of the hands free button, it always calls someone else's mom and the previous owners voice comes over the radio and it calls his mom instead of mine.

I have deleted his phone, his contacts, and factory reset the phone part of it and it just wont fix. I have my phone connected and only my phone connected. Whenever I say to 'call mom' or 'call dad' it correctly uses my phones name, 'Make this call using _____?' and I say yes but then it calls someone else.

It doesn't let me call anyone because it still believes the old owners phone is connected and says something along the lines of 'contact not found' if I were to try to call one of my friends.

Any help would be great if this can be fixed. Again, I don't know if I wasn't wording it correctly when searching on Google but I did go there first. thanks in advance🙏

What is the light below the headlight called? I smacked a deer, and it took out said light on the passenger side. I've tried looking up everything, foglights, parking light, running light, signal light, light below headlight lol but nothing matches up. What should I be looking for?

Discussion DO NOT BUY A CHEVY SILVERADO (PERSONAL EXAMPLE)

2022 Chevrolet Silverado Custom,

Transmission failure at 58,000 miles, $8,000 to replace because you have to find a hidden transmission in California and have it shipped to Florida, because ALL TRANSMISSIONS OF THE SAME MODEL ARE ON A YEAR OR MORE BACKORDER. The issue is that common!

Now you find out first hand all of the electrical issues these trucks have! Better turn off the auto stop and start feature of the truck, if you don’t, it’ll completely overload your system and shut everything off before it restarts, completely locking you out of driving, starting, or even moving your vehicle for 3 hours! In traffic!

That’s not to mention the constant fuse changes and brake system issues and faults simply because it is poorly designed.

But wait! There’s more! Even though “technically” the electrical and auto start issue is a FACTORY DEFECT, YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!

Do not buy from Chevy in general. Lesson learned.

Discussion 1993 Cavalier Z24 RS V6 Sedan — Thoughts, Stock Upgrades, and Parts Check?

Hello everybody,

I have a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 RS sedan that features the full Z24 interior appearance, motor, and handling packages. From what I understand, this fully optioned V6 sedan configuration is very rare, basically serving as a 1-year-only special package for the sedan body style to get all the Z24 performance goodies straight from the factory.

I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you like and don't like about these cars? What are your thoughts on the interior setup, the 3.1L LH0 V6 motor, or anything else?

I really want to keep this car stock but add some subtle, clean upgrades that don't ruin the period-correct look. If anyone has ideas on tasteful improvements or happens to have spare parts for a second-generation J-body V6 sedan, please let me know.

Everybody's opinion is greatly valued. Thank you all for the feedback!

Let me know if you want me to write a **photo caption** to go with this post if you decide to share a picture of your engine bay or interior!

Discussion 2021 Chevy blazer recall

Just recently my 2021 blazer started to struggle a bit when trying to start. I ran my VIN on their website and noticed there was a recall for the Fuel pump control module. Could this recall be the reason for this?

Discussion Correct torque for spark plugs? (2013 Chevy Impala LT)

Does anyone know the correct official torque for spark plugs in a 2013 Chevy Impala LT (gas not flex)? Can't find a consistent answer.
