Discussion Constant, contentless dread in my stomach 24/7. Anyone else?

For the past 2 years I have been feeling an intense sense of dread in my stomach from the moment I wake up in the morning to the time I fall asleep at night, every single day. It appears completely contentless and doesn’t change depending on my thoughts or what’s happening in my life.

The weird thing is that I don’t really have the usual anxiety symptoms. No racing heart, no hypervigilance, no future oriented worrying, just constant pervasive dread.

It started after a random panic attack, and then just kinda stuck around in the background constantly until I had another panic attack ~5 months ago in which it got way worse and stayed way worse. For the last 5 months I’ve been living through what I can only describe as hell.

Basically I just feel horribly isolated because this symptom seems so unusual and it’s so debilitating and I’ve never heard of anyone else having this. I’d be so happy to hear from anyone that’s experienced anything even similar and if anything worked for you.

Personal Experience my mom does not always wash her hands with soap when preparing food in the kitchen

Today I saw my mom move a Dcon block of rat poison with her bare hands and afterwards she just ran her hands under some water but didn't use any soap and that really concerns me, also i'm pretty sure i've seen her do the same thing when handling raw meat in the past so that's naturally made my OCD flare up and wash my hands more. It's weird cause my mom is normally pretty good about other stuff, but she's weirdly casual about this sort of thing. I know the active in ingredient in Dcon is far more toxic to animals then humans, but i'd still rather not accidentally ingest trace amounts of the stuff if I can help it. Wish there was a way to get my mom to use soap in the kitchen more without her potentially freaking out on me for suggesting it.

My stomach doesn't really hurt, but I can feel that something inside is relaxing or letting go. It makes gurgling sounds and I pass gas. I feel like I'm dying because of this sensation of my stomach relaxing, from morning to night. The more it relaxes, the more I feel like my whole body is expanding and staying that way, as if everything inside me is opening up and can't go back to normal. It's extremely difficult to explain, but this sensation makes me feel physically very unwell all the time. Because I feel so expanded and relaxed inside, I pass gas.

without being anxious in my head i cant go out or watch tv ???

Need Advice I can’t shake the idea that meds don’t work for me and I wish they did

I’ve suffered from generalized anxiety my entire life. I was first medicated with Paxil when I was 5. I think I was in denial about how bad my anxiety was for a long time since it was baseline for me. I started exploring medication a few years ago. I tried Zoloft which was horrible with side effects I had to immediately switch to Lexapro which I was on for about two years. I never felt it did much for my anxiety, but I had notable uncomfortable side effects that made me eventually come off of it. Dry mouth, night sweats, stomach issues.

I have had Xanax a few times, maybe 5 or 6 total and my gosh does it work. It’s so defeating that it’s an as needed type of drug and I’m worried about taking it too often.

I feel like I toy around with the idea of meds whenever my anxiety hits a peak which it has recently hit it just feels like the daily meds don’t do anything but cause negative side effects and I don’t want to deal with that for nothing.

You see testimonials online where people feel like medication totally changed their life and I want that feeling so badly and I just feel defeated like that won’t ever happen for me.

Idk what I’m looking for, maybe encouragement if you found a med that really did feel like it improved your daily quality of life?

Need Advice extreme death anxiety

i would like some advice on functioning with this fear. i have anxiety in every part of my life, but this phobia has been very harmful to me.

i have an extreme fear of dying. it’s constantly in the back of my mind that someday, i will die. im often unable to sleep because of it, as closing my eyes will remind me too much of being dead. i can’t listen to any conversations about death— one example is in highschool, my classmate did a presentation on burial procedures, and i had to leave to go throw up. my reactions to triggers vary in intensity, but it’s been going on for so long that i don’t know how to deal with it. im in a constant state of sadness from it at this point.

thank you for reading. any advice on minimizing my fear, or just coping with death, would be greatly appreciated. i’ve gone to therapy in the past, but it always just makes me worry more.

Need Advice I'm suffering from severe chronic panic attacks, and I'm unable to find relief. What should I do?

Hi, I need some advice for what to do.

I'm experiencing multiple panic attacks every day, and it's affecting my ability to perform basic self care. I feel extraordinarily depressed, and I cannot find any relief.

Therapy and psychiatry are proving ineffective, and I'm in a state of severe suffering. Do I need to seek inpatient care? I have no history of substance abuse, nor any problematic behavior towards others.

What resource am I supposed to seek out right now?

Need Advice How to get doctors to take my socil anxiety seriously ?

Hi, im 21F from the UK. I've always suffered from intense social axiety, meeting new people sends my head spiralling, when im in social situations im too in my head to do anything. I recently started university and this has made me struggle a lot socially. This has been the case from since i started school at 3, but ive always been too scared to go to the doctors because i dont know if they take social anxiety seriously, ive rang up but always got too nervous when it came to the appointment.

I was wondering (maybe anyone from UK could help) what to say to the doctors for them to take me seriously ? Ive recently been suffering physical symptoms like stomach cramps due to this and im just really scared that they wont take something like this serious but i really wanna get this sorted because im sick of my life being controlled like this. Any advice would be appreciated

Need Help At what point do i go see a Dr.

I(28F) have been feeling this constant pit in my chest/stomach for the past 3 years. it got really bad out of no where, i was afraid to do things that could potentially cause hard, i still am to this day thinking of all the possible things that could go wrong. i always feel like someone is mad at me/out to get me. i started a new, more stressful job last week and since then I haven't eaten, slept, or been able to breathe. all these new responsibilities are eating me alive. i feel weak and tired 24/7 but food does not sound appetizing. i try to eat and i puke. i hate this feeling of impending doom all the time i feel insane. im not sure where to go or who to talk to but i need something.

How can i stop feeling like something bad is going to happen. i physically shake and stutter and my stomach is starving for food but whenever i try i spit it out or throw it up. i cry all the time and sometimes i cant even explain why. i hate this i dont want to be this way but i dont know where this all started and how to start helping myself. The breathing tricks dont seem to work, ive tried meditation and yoga and nothing.

Question does anyone else's anxiety just pick a new random thing to worry about once you've dealt with the last one?

like i'll spend weeks working through being anxious about one specific thing, finally feel like i've got a handle on it, and then my brain just decides "cool, new fear unlocked" and i'm back to square one. it's honestly exhausting. curious if this happens to other people or if my anxiety is just built different.
