They asked the driver if there’s an up-charge for this and the driver said to leave a tip. Is this so he doesn’t get in trouble for selling alcohol? Or can he still get introuble. This is so dumb to have in your car. Especially driving around in the day this won’t last. if he gets pulled over it won’t look good. Why do some drivers just do too much instead of just driving point A to point B.

this is also a wakeup call be careful what you do in your car because riders record you and post you online without you knowing

It was only a 20 min ride...

Factor in 2.50 for half a gallon of gas and I came away +3.00 for a full hour of work. Any chance uber will compensate me for this?

EDIT: the Grocery Order dod ada $10 tip, which brings me (technically) to minimum wage, hooray

God bless my fellow drivers navigating these wonderful Philly streets @ night.

Finished up a ride and started heading to the next one only to realize it’s a scheduled ride. Though aww crap I’m gonna be way early probably, but once I stopped and was able to see the pickup time I realized that the pax was scheduled to be picked up ten minutes ago. Messaged the customer to apologize and explain I didn’t even know it was scheduled but would be to her shortly and that I didn’t know why they gave me a pickup when I wasn’t even dropping off my last rider until five minutes AFTER her scheduled pickup time. She spends the entire ride complaining about it, understandably, and I don’t disagree with her. Then she spend almost the full five minutes in the gas station at her stop, I still get her to work 7 minutes before she has to clock in, and right as she’s getting out of the car she scolds me and says next time don’t accept a scheduled ride I can’t get to on time, like it’s my fault that they even offered it. I even tried to explain earlier that she probably had another driver cancel so they assigned me last minute because no one else was closer, so anyone else would have gotten her even later. But no she had to blame me. Immediately went from 5 stars to 1.

And to show you how I feel I'll leave it in the comments

Had a convention in town, with very generous tippers.
Live in a market where all rides are pretty much 10 minutes or less. And all in the same 5 mile radius. But 350 miles and 30 hours at 40.5 mpg. Plus 50 in cash tips.
Just a shimmer of hope for the winter season here in the desert.
To new drivers this is not normal. Don't quit your job.
It's not about the hours, it's about the miles to dollars ratio.

I received a $60 trip and started heading to the airport and after lie 10 minutes, the passenger called me and told me to cancel it since he changed his mind, I told him to cancel it himself. After 3 minutes, the trip was cancelled and I didn’t get any cancellation fee plus, the cancellation trip history despaired from my trip activity history. It’s the 3rd time something like this happened on me. When you contact coustomer support, they pretend like they don’t see it on the system and ask you for a screenshot. Is something like this happened on you?

I am wondering what amount of tip drivers consider a successful trip. I try to tip well and rarely go below $10, even if the ride itself is only $10. But I am on vacation and averaging probably three trips per day, and more than $50/day in tips alone. It’s getting kind of expensive and I wonder if I am going overboard.

Just had a passenger who said the driver before me pulled up and didnt match the description. The driver on the app was older and driver that rolled up was in his 20s. Same car and license plate though. Just different driver.

She questioned him and he canceled and took off. What the fuck. Why is this a thing?

I told her how to report him and apparently 'driver did not match' was an option.

Uber really need to stop playing in the top drivers face like this. 😂😂

Sorry! I'm a passenger. I didn't see anything here about non drivers being unable to post. But here is my question. My college is 4 miles away. My Uber driver complained the entire time after she picked me up that it's wasting a lot of her gas. Like literally the entire ride. It wasn't just one comment. I didn't really know what to say. But I did tip extra than I normally do. I always assumed you were able to see the pay and how far away it is before accepting. She is the only one ever who has said this ever since I started taking Uber to and from college.

(I can't drive since I am epileptic and I need to be seizure free for 6 months before my neurologists signs papers that I can drive as I did get reported to the DMV (in case I get asked why I don't drive myself)

I live in the middle of nowhere and the main route to town is a freeway. Due to vertigo issue I can’t travel above 45 mph. There is a back roads route to town that covers that, but it’s not one of the established routes on map apps. I’m worried I’ll scare the driver by asking to take a backroads way after they arrive to pick me up

Is there a way I can map out my own route on uber app so they won’t be surprised when I ask to take another route?

Found this out the hard way — one morning my car showed as inactive. No complaint, no warning. The reason was the Safety Standards Certificate.

For Toronto PTC vehicles the SSC is renewed every year, and the platform submits it to the City. If it's not provided within 7 days of your Next Submission Date, the City can suspend the vehicle licence (Toronto Municipal Code Ch. 546-15(C)).

Check your date today and set a reminder 30 days before. Hope this saves someone a lost day of driving.

For drivers who’ve been doing this for a while, what’s something you learned the hard way that you wish someone had told you before you started?

Could be about expenses, choosing rides, dealing with passengers, or figuring out whether a trip is actually worth the time and mileage. I feel like there’s a lot more to making money with Uber than just accepting requests and driving.

What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting out, and what mistakes should they avoid?

I haven’t done Logan runs in a while ….

For drop offs can you do curbside and if yes, do I need uber paperwork to show MSPolice?

For pickups that’s at the ride share lot right? Thank youuuuu
