The "item" was this kitten. She was outside alone so I called the customer and was told that she's one of three that "keep getting out" I offered to wait for the customer to come out and get her and she responded "you want her? Take her. I'm sick of these cats" and then she hung up on me.

I'm a dasher, I'm broke as hell. But she was so small and covered in a weird oily substance and the customer had this awful loud dog going crazy at me and clearly scaring her. I couldn't leave her like that. So one trip to the 24/7 pet ER (surprisingly healthy just worms and a touch of dehydration) and 5 hours later...

So since its been insanely windy in my city theyve shut power off in like half the city and its 2am rn so there were already limited options for late night but even more so cause many are without power . So i get a $6 order like 3 miles , horrible and wouldnt normally take but its super slow so i accepted cause like 20 min ago i drove by jack and no line . I go and at least 15 cars and line out the drive thru , not gonna wait 20 minutes minimum for $6 so i thought id nicely let person know i was gonna cancel so she knew why . First off , not even a “ can you go inside ? “ but a demand lol . Dumb dumb insides not open at 2am 🤯🥴 .. then 20 tip ???? Lmfao 🎶 why you always lying 🎶 it was max a $2 tip 😂 .. then cussing and saving me from canceling plus giving me the $3 half pay ( not $11 if it was a $20 tip proving her wrong even tho didnt need to ) that i wouldnt have gotten * chefs kiss 🥳

A driver posted about a delivery that may exceed ~1100lbs, a comment asked what person would place this kind of order on DD, I commented that most people would have no idea that 60 pavers would be farmed out to DD rather than be delivered by the company truck stretch wrapped on a pallet. Ngl, I'm still bothered by this. I'm in my home improvement journey so that I may be the one ordering 60 pavers. If someone showed up individually unloading them piece by piece from their vehicle, I would be mortified. I would have to help even though I paid a delivery fee so it would be taken care of without me lifting a finger. AND most importantly, what if the driver got hurt unloading 1100lbs? DD ain't gonna do a thing... if anything, this is the point of attack for a class action suit against DD because customers are not informed that their heavy items aren't being handled by proper equipment and personal injury/ property liability covered employees. I, for one, will be sure to contact any box store to find out who will be delivering any order of this type and weight. It's absolutely ridiculous to expect private individuals to do this for 2.50 plus no tip since customers have no idea that it's DD.

I bring my daughter with me dashing sometimes, and she absolutely loves it! She helps me keep track of the orders, holds the food and the drinks, and likes seeing how many deliveries we can get done in a night and how much money we make.

We make a little game out of it.

Afterwards, I'll treat her to dinner or dessert.

I don't get it. This is literally just a "$1 extra" promotion with a 30 order minimum attached to it... I guess there will be some that can't do the basic math required to see this as predatory but whatever

edit: in hindsight, "predatory" isn't the best word. 'Manipulative' feels more apt. Either way this is mostly a nothing burger, I just like to yap on here about these kinds of things

I actually enjoy shopping orders, and I don't even mind dollar stores, but every time I get a dollar store offer, I think "there goes my pro shopper status!" Something is always out of stock, and they usually don't have clear shelf tags, which seems to be the only way to have it not count against your "original items found" rating. Oh well, I keep on shopping either way...

Picked up from restaurant, customer messages me asking if I can meet them in the lobby of the hotel instead of me bringing it up, said sure. No biggie. I can literally see the hotel roof from the taco bell, hand it off to the guy and he hands me 15 In cash too. Definitely not the norm but I appreciate it so much when it happens. Hope everybody had a good Friday!

Dropped off a order for liquor and received this not even 2 minutes later 😂 liquid courage at its finest

So I get to the customer's apt and the screen tells me to make sure to scan ID and I was like WTF? Thought I fucked up as I didn't checkout any booze, was not listed in the app nor did i scanned my id at checkout, all I did was refunded some eggs and the rest of the items listed is correct. Never had this before so I guess it only happens for items refunded.

Everything was going smooth asf and nothing can go wrong until my on time rating started to decrease. I usually only have 3 or 4 disputed but it grew to 12 within days. I noticed that the algorithm was squeezinhg my time short and it would give me 0 or 1 minute for parking, building code, elevator etc... it was hell. I think it started happening when I began to press the arrive button in the car sooner than entering the store. The algorithm put me in an Usain Bolt category of dashers and assumed I'm freakishly quick.

I proactively looked for a solution on Tiktok and it worked.

1. Press arrived at store when you are already walking into the store. Train the algorithm to know your real pace. Then if it's getting too close to pickup time press the button to make it the stores fault and text the customer to show a trail of evidence. (Some other influencers were recommending press arrive as soon as it turns red and press the order not ready button to quicken the time until worry free unassign) But that strategy didn't work for me and it feels a little dishonest.

2 don't press confirm pickup until your seatbelt is on and ready to drive. Before for some stupid reason I was confirming at the counter. Then running to my car so I can be on time. If I was parked far away it was even worse. It's betterif the timer to starts from your car ready to go then from the restaurant counter, minutes away from the car.

With these 2 simple tips my last 10 orders were all on time again.

A doordasher was trying to talk to a girl in an apartment complex and got shot in the ass.

The only reason i declined this offer was because it's inside the mall upstairs. The mall is currently under construction so way more walking. I had a baby 2 months ago and he basically broke my butt. Literally. Something about my si joint which makes most walking hurt. So 4$ wasn't worth the pain. But I'm just curious, is it because it was low mileage?

I've been calling this area the Bagel Triangle because there is a busy bagel shop at each point, and as an early morning dasher, I am often bouncing between them. The other day, it actually manifested almost perfectly on the map, so I grabbed a screenshot.
