Discussion Spider won't leave the cup I used to move it, and I'm getting a bit worried for it
Hiya, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I'm getting a bit worried for this lil guy and want to help if I can
So I was cleaning my car, and when cleaning my wing mirror I saw a tiny spider crawl out. It's smaller than my pinkie fingernail. I stopped cleaning and grabbed a plastic cup & some card, and put the spider aside so I could finish cleaning without hurting it
When I dried off my car, I went to go put the spider back on the mirror, but it wouldn't leave. I tried tapping the cup, shaking it a bit, shaking it a bit harder, nothing. It's definitely alive & I don't think it's injured, it's still moving around very quickly, it just won't leave the cup
I'm worried that it got a bit too cold (it's currently 12°c/53°F), so for the time being I've brought it indoors, but I'm not sure what else to do. Is there anything I should do to help? Should I leave it on my car roof on its side or something?
I am still a bit scared of spiders so would rather not have to pick it up/get it to crawl on my finger, but if need be I'll do it

ID Request- Location included What kinda baby spiders are in my bathroom sink?
So it started three days ago when I went into my bathroom and I noticed a bunch of really tiny baby spiders in my sink at first glance I didn’t know what it was and I was like what’s in my sink after getting a better look I noticed it was tiny little baby spiders, and they were moving around. I’m not sure where they’re coming from if they’re coming from the drain, but I closed it off by pulling up the drain plug so they couldn’t crawl up. I flushed them down the drain with running water and I noticed by the time I came back in the bathroom a few hours later there were more in the sink so I flushed them down again and pulled up the stopper again so I’m not sure how they’re getting in my sink because I don’t think they could squeeze in when it’s closed. The only other thing I could think of is they’re getting in through the little hole that’s at the top of the sink but I’ve lived in my apartment for 15 years and I’ve never had this problem but for the past three days I keep finding them in my sink and I’m guessing there is a mama somewhere, but I only see the little babies it was hard to get a really clear picture because they are so small… I live in Reno, Nevada for reference

Discussion Is she alright?
Hello everyone,
this is my sand huntsman Flocke.
She laid a clutch of eggs about a week ago, and then ate them.
She's mostly just standing around and doing nothing, but when she's chilling, shes in a very "curled up" position.
Will she be okay, or is this just how they are?

ID Request- Location included ID Request, North Central Indiana
Hi! I live in a wooded area in northern indiana, west of Fort Wayne.
We have lots of grass spiders and brown wolf spiders everywhere, but I've only seen three of these - two in this window well, and one dead in my basement (I think my cats got to it). This one was the largest. It's body was maybe 1.5 inches, then long pointy legs.
Sorry the pictures aren't better, I took them last September. I haven't seen one yet this year, but I've been a little on edge wondering if they'll come back.
I'm a recovering arachnaphobe and having names/learning about the species around me helps me feel less afraid. I've been having a hard time finding a match for this one in indiana.

Just sharing 🕷️ Pink Toe Tarantula Gender
There’s little doubt in my mind that my pink toe is a female, but I want to double check with other spider enthusiasts. She’s (i will use she as a pronoun for simplicity) a little under a year old with legs that are a little under 3 inches long. Her abdomen and thorax are roughly that same length combined. She just had her second molt and grew by about 60-80% of the size she was before.

Caught this little guy in northern Utah. He's got some massive Pedipalps, which have led me to believe he is a male. (I tried to get the best photos I could, but this man would not stop moving)

Discussion Worried I’m training the spider in my room to be too intelligent.
There is a spider that lives in my room. I leave him alone because he scares me. I only see him about once a week when he goes out usually.
Lately he’s been coming out more, like multiple times a day. It’s worrying because he just sits in the open like he’s mocking me. I leave the room and wait for him to leave the open so I don’t have to look at him.
But lately I’ve been realizing he only moves when he thinks I’m not looking. Like I thought they didn’t like quick movements so before I would sit still and he would move. But today I did an experiment where I pretended to look away and observed him through the corner of my eye. He started moving immediately. Then when I face him he stops again. I tried facing him and being completely still and he recognized I was looking at him.
Is this regular? I don’t understand how he can tell if I’m looking at him when he’s not even facing me. Can he see that far? I’m super worried that he will learn how to sneak around my room more efficiently. This isn’t a joke. What should I do? I don’t know what spider he is, he’s about the size of a dime and pure black from what I can tell. He definitely has a higher intelligence than regular spiders that’s for sure. I’m super concerned.

Discussion Pregnancy or Parasite??
Hey guys, so I’m super confused. Me and my fiance have a wild caught gray wall jumping spider, and when we went to check on her we realized it looks like she’s guarding an egg sac??? Is this even possible with now small she is??? We have a female regal (Dolly) who JUST laid her eggs 2 days ago, and she’s about 4x the size of Skinny (the gray wall jumper) both are wild caught, but when we were given dolly we could tell she was gravid off the bat. Skinny got her name because when she was brought to us, she was so close to starvation her abdomen was indented. I know they can lay infertile eggs which these most likely are if they are eggs, but wtf??😭 we’re both relatively new to spider keeping (only dealing with babies because people keep bringing us “sick” spiders to save, that are apparently all just pregnant???) so please info dump on me about wtf is happening here. Is it possible she’s fully grown, but severely stunted because she was so close to death?? This girl is about the size of a dime, and our other mama Dolly is about the size of a nickel. (The magnets on her tank are about half the size dimes for a comparison.)

Spider Appreciation 🕸️🕷️ I like spiders, recommendations for more spider positive groups?
Hello, I'm pretty new to reddit and I'm trying to tune up my feed. I am a spider enjoyer and I know everyone is different but I'm not really interested in seeing a bunch of fearful posts about spiders. Im sure if I looked into groups for jumping spiders it would be less fear motivated posting as people seem to like them more. I do like jumping spiders but they aren't my only interest, I think all spiders are cool, they have cool shapes and colors, different habits and hunting techniques. I just want to lurk and appreciate cool spiders while collecting fun facts on the way rather than witnessing people being scared of something i think is neat. Any recommendations for groups that are of a similar mindset?
