Quick question General advice

With pennies tight I measured the cost of my pond per quarter. The biggest cost is the submerged pump going to the filter.
Just wondering if anyone has tips to help maybe reduce this? It's on 24/7. Can it be cycled? Or is there anything I could do to reduce the cost?
