She’s my very first amphibian and couldn’t be more happy with how my tank turned out. Shes doing great and already hunting at night! I’ve had her almost a week now and she’s just the cutest thing.

Adult Northern Spring Salamander found in a small stream!

I found this adult Spring Salamander under a rock in a small stream, it was around 6 inches long as well! Also the water in the stream was high because of rain so there were more rocks to flip in water and I put all the rocks back exactly how I found them.

So I have seen hundreds of American toads in my life as a guy growing up in the midwest. They have always been brown/grey/slightly green with very little variation in color but every time I go to this specific nature preserve the toads here are rusty red. Are there any factors contributing or is it just random? It makes me think its an environmental difference or something because I can only find them in a small area. Thanks for reading :)

I know I shouldn’t have used my flash but I found this little one with hair stuck to it and used my flash to see the hairs on it to get them off. I removed all the ones I could see and let it be after.

After I got the hairs off its tail it started to move its tail more. And It has taken off by now but I’m worried I could’ve hurt it. Do you think it’ll be fine?

Found this guy about a week ago. He has a good little burrow, and I've never seen him come out any further than this, so I have no idea how to catch him. Can he survive once winter comes? Any advice on how to catch him?

Figured I’d make one last post before it starts getting too cold to ship but I still have a good amount of Chinese firebelly and blue tailed firebelly juveniles available if anyone in the US is interested! Check out my MorphMarket link in my bio if so. Also up for some trades for other newt species I don’t have.
