Announcement New Post Guidelines

Hi r/Playtesters ! I am introducing some new post guidelines. The purpose of these changes are to make the subreddit cleaner and easier to use.

Moving forward the only approved post type will be text posts. If you want to include game footage/images, please embed them in the post.

Post flairs:

Paid Playtest:
A post from a developer to search for play-testers. Only use this flair if you’re offering payment for completion of a play-test or for finding a bug. Cash or Crypto only, no other form of reward counts as a paid playtest. Include the amount you're offering, a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Unpaid Playtest:
Another form of post from a developer to search for play-testers. Use this flair if you are not able to offer money for play-testers. You may offer other rewards, such as credits or in game currency, but that would still fall under this category. Include a short description of the game, and how you would like to receive feedback (through a google form, Reddit comments, etc)

Playtester:
To make a post searching for games to play-test, use this flair. Feel free to specify what types of games you would like to play, and if you’re looking for compensation.

Discussion:
Use this flair for general discussion posts about play-testing.

Please be aware of the risks before accepting paid play-test offers. Moderators cannot ensure that promised payment will be sent.

Please leave a comment or send a mod-mail if you have feedback on these changes, we would love to hear from you.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] [PC] RogueForge – Draw your own weapons, build your home, explore a 3D open world (co-op up to 4)

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm the developer of **RogueForge**, and I'm looking for playtesters for the current Steam Playtest build.

**Gameplay video:** https://youtu.be/UkKodm3yv-Q

**What is it?**
You wake up empty-handed in a large open world with nothing but a single ember. Gather, craft and build whatever you like: draw your own weapons on a canvas, tailor armor to your character's body, build a house wall by wall, farm, cook, tame animals, swim and dive, and head down into caves and dungeons. There are no quests telling you where to go, so you explore at your own pace. You can play solo or co-op with up to 4 players.

**What I'd love feedback on**
- **The first hour:** was it clear what to do next? Where did you get stuck or lose interest?
- **Controls and combat feel:** mouse look, left-click to act, right-click to guard.
- **Performance:** your specs and roughly what FPS you got.
- **Bugs and crashes:** what you were doing when it happened (screenshots help a lot).
- **Co-op:** if you can play with friends, did joining and playing together work smoothly?

**Details**
- **Platform:** Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- **Minimum specs:** Intel i3-6100 / AMD FX-6300, 4 GB RAM, DirectX 11 GPU with 2 GB VRAM, 1 GB disk space
- **Languages:** English, Korean
- **Cost:** free (Steam Playtest). This is an **unpaid** test.
- **Time:** play as much or as little as you like. Even 30–60 minutes of honest impressions helps.
- **How to join:** open the Steam page below and click **"Request Access"** on the RogueForge Playtest. Access is granted right away, so you can start playing immediately.
- **Where to send feedback:** our Discord, or reply here / DM me.

Gameplay video: https://youtu.be/UkKodm3yv-Q
Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5254360/RogueForge/
Discord: https://discord.gg/7EjxXRARr9

It's still in active development, so expect rough edges. Honest, even harsh, feedback is exactly what I need. Thanks for reading!

Unpaid Playtest Robosim - Be the robot operator

What is RoboSim? RoboSim is a first-person teleoperation game. You don't play the robot, you're the human operating it. Take gig jobs on a fictional platform, pilot real-world-inspired robots (robot arms, quadrupeds) through real physics, and level up from rookie operator to legend.

What you'll do 🦾 Pick jobs from the Career Board: an industrial hall, a lab bench, a lab corridor, an industrial yard 🎮 Control the robot with gamepad or keyboard + mouse, using the timer, progress ring and gripper camera ⭐ Finish each job for a star rating and your time 🔓 Earn licenses to unlock harder work and new robots

Real robots, real physics, real tasks, real you.

Where to get it ⬇️ Download (alpha, Windows / macOS / Linux): https://robosim.spinworks.tech

What we need from you Please play for 30–60 minutes and tell us:

  • 🐛 What broke (crashes, stuck robots, odd physics, UI glitches)? Please add your OS and a screenshot or clip.
  • 🎮 How did the controls feel on gamepad or keyboard?
  • 😵 Where did you get lost or frustrated, especially in the first 10 minutes?
  • 🏁 Was a job too easy, too hard or boring?
  • 🏆 If you're technical: try Studio and the Arena. Was the kit, upload and board flow clear?

Post feedback in our discord: https://discord.gg/DJfJvbsDz . Short and messy is fine. A one-line "this broke" helps us more than a perfect report.

This is an alpha, so expect rough edges. Thank you for being first in. 💙 — SPINWorks Robotics

New: RoboSim Studio and the Arena → https://robosim-studio.spinworks.tech Train a policy, beat the community. Studio is the other side of RoboSim. Instead of driving the robot, you teach it to drive itself.

  1. Download a training kit for a job (a physics copy of the game's job).
  2. Train your own AI policy and export it as an ONNX file.
  3. Upload it on the Studio site.
  4. The real game runs your policy on hidden seeds and scores it. The game is the judge, so there is no self-reported score.
  5. Your policy lands on the Arena boards, on the site and in the game. You can watch its runs and replays, and see who it beat.

You can play the game, train a robot, or do both.

Paid Playtest Questions about paid playtesting

Is US$5 per person for a 15–20-minute session, including signup, walkthrough and brief feedback, is a reasonable offer?

What i will be asking people to do...

  • US$5 per tester, for roughly 20 minutes of your time.
  • You must speak english.
  • Play one complete three-round game.
  • Account registration required.
  • Average game time is around about 13 minutes.
  • Walkthrough the game play.
  • Total expected time, including a short feedback form 20 minutes.
  • 7 paid places to begin with.

I would be paying for participation and honest feedback regardless of whether you like it or not...

The game itself is a competitive multiplayer card game with hand-building, and direct player interaction, played in your browser.

Brand new to this, and want some critical feedback. critical meaning useful, not "it sucks".

If you think it sucks, what about it sucked? the game play? the time it takes to play? certain actions that are played?

What did you like?

Was the onboarding off?

Also, i'm reading a lot of posts saying Paypal is the way to pay people? Is that the best option, or is there another way?

Are there any questions that others have asked or not asked that they wish they had asked???

Thanks

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid / Browser] Hey Mayor! — does the opening make sense? Five-minute playtest

I'm Felipe, the creator. I'm looking for 3–5 people to try the opening of Hey Mayor!, a city-building puzzle where you fit blocks of homes, shops and industry around City Hall.

This is an unpaid test. About five minutes on a phone or desktop browser is enough; mouse and touch both work. No account or download is needed.

Play: https://heymayor.app/play/

Please try the opening without extra hints, then leave a comment here:

  1. What did you think your first goal was?
  2. Was there a placement or building interaction you couldn't explain? Tell me which one.
  3. Where did you stop, and what made you stop?

A sentence or two is useful, including if you quit early. Please mention phone/desktop and browser if something broke. No recording or private contact details needed.

Felipe, TripFish

Disclosure: AI-assisted development and post preparation; AI tools were also used for the logo, app icon and some website artwork.

Unpaid Playtest Atlas Frontier

• Upvotes

Game Title: Atlas Frontier

Playable Link: https://atlasfrontier.itch.io/atlas-frontier

Platform: Windows PC

Description:

Atlas Frontier is a survival crafting game with an isometric camera and a 3D world rendered in a pixel style. You gather resources, craft tools and equipment, build a shelter, fight creatures, and explore different biomes, including forests, snowy areas, and coastlines. You can also build boats to explore the water.

I’m a hobby developer, and I’ve been tinkering with this game in my free time for about a month. Most of my projects get forgotten after a week, but I’ve kept coming back to this one and wanted to see what other people think.

I’m looking for people to try the first 20–30 minutes and share some honest feedback. Is it clear what to do when you start? Do gathering, combat, and building feel good? What feels confusing or frustrating, and what would make you want to keep playing?

It’s still an early build with rough edges, so bug reports and suggestions are welcome. You can leave feedback here or on itch. Thanks for checking it out!

Free to Play Status:

  • Free to play
  • Demo/Key available
  • Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)

Involvement: I’m the hobby developer behind Atlas Frontier, working on its gameplay, world, and overall development.

Unpaid Playtest [Web] MovieEmoji — a daily "guess the movie from its plot in emoji" game. Looking for 3- 4 days of play + honest feedback

Hi! I'm a solo dev and I built a small daily browser game: you get a movie's plot told in emoji and have 5 tries to name the film. Wrong guesses tell you if the year is earlier/later and whether the genre matches; extra hints unlock as you miss. After the answer you get a short "why these emoji" breakdown and the trailer.

Play: https://movieemoji.com (no sign-up, no ads, works on phone, ~2 min a day)

What I'm asking: play it 3–4 days in a row (new puzzle at midnight New York time) and leave a comment here:

  • Was today's puzzle too easy / too hard / unfair? Which emoji threw you off?
  • Did you understand what to do without reading anything?
  • Anything broken or annoying on your device?

Spoiler etiquette: please put the movie title in spoiler tags (>!title!<). Thanks — every comment gets read and I'll post what I changed.

Unpaid Playtest [Mobile] Paris Galère: a free browser game about surviving Paris (jobs, rent, métro strikes). Feedback wanted

Hi everyone, I'm the developer of Paris Galère, a free, satirical life-sim you play in your phone browser. You arrive in Paris with a few balles and try to get by: find a job, pay the rent, take the métro (without a ticket if you dare: 1 ride in 3 is checked), and survive the strikes.

It's an early build and I'd really like honest feedback:

  • Did you understand what to do in the first few minutes?
  • What was confusing, broken or boring?
  • What would you want next?

A few notes:

  • It's made for mobile. It plays best on your phone, and it's nicer installed as an app: on iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen"; on Android, open it in Chrome, tap the menu, then "Install app".
  • No account needed. A guest game is erased after 3 days without playing, so you can save it with Google if you like it.
  • While I'm testing, the quarters of Paris that are normally locked are open.
  • There's an idea box in the game (Phone > Boutique), or you can reply here.

Play it here: https://parisgalere.demc.blog/?s=testeur

Thanks for trying it, and tell me what you'd change.

Paid Playtest [PAID] $5-$7 for a 35 minute playtest: Updraft, a cozy game about building and flying kites (PC)

Hi everyone! I’m the developer of Updraft, a game about running a kite workshop in a seaside village. You build and decorate kites, test them in flight, and adjust their parts to fulfill requests from your neighbors.

I’m looking for up to 12 paid playtesters to help me understand how the opening feels: what’s enjoyable, what’s confusing, and whether the building, flying, adjusting loop holds your interest.

What’s involved:

  • Approximately 25 minutes playing, followed by up to 10 minutes of written feedback via forms.
  • Windows PC with a mouse and keyboard.
  • No live call, or public review required.
  • No professional testing experience needed.

Payment options:

  • US$5: Gameplay and written feedback. No recording required.
  • US$7 total: Gameplay and written feedback, plus a screen recording of your gameplay with spoken commentary about what you’re thinking as you play.

Payment: US$5-US$7 per selected participant, paid via PayPal within 1-2 days of completing the playtest.

You don’t need to finish the demo, enjoy it, or find a certain number of bugs. If something prevents you from continuing, describing what happened is useful feedback too. Payment does not depend on giving a positive opinion.

Apply here: Google Forms

I’ll select participants based on game experience, setup, and availability, then contact them through Reddit before they start.

Thanks for taking a look!

  • Payment: US$10 via PayPal within 48 hours after I receive gameplay recording.
  • Requirements: 18+, an iPhone, and able to record your screen with spoken feedback in English.
  • Task: Play and talk through your thoughts for 15 minutes. Use the final minute to share your overall impressions.
  • Submission: Email an iCloud or Google Drive link to your recording. No face recording required.

Honest feedback is welcome. If you get stuck, explain what happened and send your recording—you’ll still receive the full $10.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid - iOS / Closed Pre-Alpha] Looking for 20 tactical strategy players to test our space-combat game

We're a small indie team developing Abitrium, a tactical space-combat game where you command a warship and crew forced to fight as gladiators in an alien arena.

This isn't arcade dogfighting. You configure your ship, assign crew, manage systems, and make tactical decisions under pressure.

We're recruiting 20 iPhone players for our closed pre-alpha testing program.

Abitrium is currently in pre-alpha, an early development stage where we're testing core gameplay systems, evaluating mechanics, and gathering feedback to guide development.

We're specifically looking for feedback on tactical combat, ship management, crew systems, and anything that feels confusing, unbalanced, or frustrating.

Selected testers who participate in the program will receive a limited-edition Abitrium T-shirt as a thank-you for helping us improve the game.

If you enjoy tactical strategy games and want to help shape Abitrium during its early development, we'd love to have you involved.

Apply for pre-alpha access:
Abitrium Pre-Alpha Testing

Happy to answer any questions about the game or the testing process.

Paid Playtest [Paid $10] Mobile golf course builder, 45 min, iOS/Android browser

** closed submissions, i'll dm the selected testers **

Hello, I’m a solo dev making Farways, a cozy course builder/management game in the spirit of SimGolf: design holes, watch golfers play them (and complain about them), and play your own course with a swing meter. It runs in your phone’s browser, nothing to install.

What I need: 5 testers for this round. Play for ~45 minutes from a fresh start, screen-record with your voice on and say what you’re thinking as you go (confused, bored, enjoying something: all useful), then fill in a short survey.

Pay: $10 USD via PayPal within 48 hours of receiving your recording and survey.

Good fit if you: play sim/management games on mobile (golf knowledge not required) and can record your screen with audio.

Apply here: I’ll DM the selected testers a private link. More rounds coming if this goes well.

Honest feedback, including “I would’ve quit at minute 8”, is exactly what I’m paying for.

Playtester [OFFERING] PC & Console Playtester | Honest Gameplay Feedback | $10–$15 per Session

Hey! I'm looking to help indie developers improve their games by playing them and providing honest, constructive feedback.

I'm not particularly interested in traditional QA testing or intentionally trying to break a game. I'd rather experience a game naturally and give feedback on how enjoyable, engaging, and polished it feels from a player's perspective.

A little about me:

I enjoy competitive shooters, survival games, open-world exploration, story-driven games, and games with satisfying progression systems.

Some games I've spent time playing include Valorant, Counter-Strike, Minecraft, ARK: Survival Evolved, Watch Dogs, and Alan Wake. I'm also open to trying genres outside my usual preferences!

What I can offer:

  • 30–60 minutes of genuine gameplay
  • Honest feedback on mechanics, difficulty, and overall enjoyment
  • Opinions on progression, balancing, controls, and replayability
  • Feedback on anything confusing, frustrating, or repetitive
  • A written summary of what I enjoyed, disliked, and would improve
  • Feedback from both a competitive and casual player's perspective

Pricing:

  • $10 — 30-minute session: Gameplay + written feedback summary
  • $15 — 60-minute session: Gameplay + more detailed written feedback

Payment: Venmo only.

Availability: Usually around 8 PM Central Time.

Platforms: PC and console.

I'm happy to try early prototypes, demos, or games nearing release. You don't need a finished or polished game for me to give useful feedback!

If you're a developer looking for genuine feedback from someone who enjoys gaming, feel free to reach out!

Discord: acidvocs — Feel free to add me! :)

Unpaid Playtest [PC] [Unpaid] Looking for playtesters for the closed alpha of an old-school MMORPG

Hi! I'm the developer of Tales of Orrin, an MMORPG I'm building on my own. Its closed alpha opened last weekend, and I need more people on the realm than the handful who are there now.

What you'd be testing

- Levelling from 1 to 60 across two continents, with quests, a ship crossing and a five-player dungeon at the top
- Two races and five classes, four of them with a full spec to level 60
- Mining, Herbalism and Alchemy
- How the server holds up with more people on it at once, which is the thing I can't test alone

What it involves

- Windows PC. You install the game through our launcher.
- Free. Play as much or as little as you like.
- Tell me what breaks or feels wrong. There's a feedback button in the game that sends me the bug, with a screenshot if you want.
- It's an alpha: the numbers are placeholders and things will break.

A lot of the art, the models and the client code started as AI output that I direct and fix. I'd rather you know that before you sign up.

How to join

Comment here or send me a DM, and I'll send you the invite to our Discord, where I set up your account myself. You never need to post your email anywhere public.

Unpaid Playtest Looking for a few groups of playtesters.

Hello,

I have created a tabletop card game that has elements of RPG but has a more casual, party game feel. It requires lots of imagination and creativity. I describe it as a mix of DnD and apples to apples.

Something that sets it apart is the intention that players make their own custom cards to put themselves into the game; make variations of themselves in fantasy (or any) context and use them to imagine the fulfillment of different tasks.

The idea is that the skills and qualities of the real life person the character is based on can be a factor when determining the outcomes, along with the implied characteristics of that version of themselves. For instance "Jake the apple farmer" would have all the qualities of Jake IRL, but also probably be good at gardening, and whatever else you can convince the judge logically follows. "Lisa the Loud" would probably be good at shouting a long distance, and also whatever she is good at in the real world. It is worth noting that you don't necessarily use the characters based on yourself- anyone can be dealt them, it is a shared deck game.

Fully fictional characters are also ok, as long as they are not copywrite protected. In these cases, it would be fully up to their implied characteristics to give them their qualities.

To make the custom cards, you use the card creator on the website to make character cards based on yourself and your friends. You can also make custom item cards, and even custom tasks and effect cards as well. And you should!

The gameplay consists of equipping your characters with items to prepare them for the tasks, which will be acted out in the imagination of the group, with the judge deciding the ultimate outcome, and awarding the task card to the player whose approach to the task they like the best. Gameplay approximately 30-90 minutes depending on number of players and how many prizes/task cards you have set to be the goal. There is not a hard minimum age, it can be customized to be family friendly, or raunchy and mature, it is up to you. Number of players is best around 4-8.

The judge is a temporary and constantly changing role. This creates amusing chaos and shifting strategies. The judge interprets the cards whenever they have ambiguity, and is the master of the universe while they occupy the role. Logical interpretations and humor guide the gameplay.

It is a casual game where the intention is to have fun and make jokes, not necessarily to win, although competitive people will no doubt yearn to be the victor. The real prize is the imagination and jokes we make along the way.

I am looking for a few groups of 5ish people to

1.) customize some cards

2.)assemble a deck with the deck builder feature on the website

3.)receive a printed copy of the deck and play the game with them

4.) let me know how it goes.

If you think this sounds fun and want to be one of the first groups to play 'chocolate mustard toothpaste' then please give me a holler.

I have marked it 'unpaid' but you would be receiving a free deck of customized 'chocolate mustard toothpaste' cards at my expense.

Regarding the name- yes it is a silly name. My daughter made it up, and I decided it would represent the amusing item combinations one might use to solve a task.

The customizing of the cards can take anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours, depending on how custom you want your game to be. The idea is you load it with inside jokes, special sentimental or funny items from your lives, and other personal effects, but it is also compatible with fully fantastical, whimsical, or any other flavor of adventure. Most often, it is an unhinged collision of all the above.

If you don't want to create every card yourself, you can apply an auto-fill to use highly rated 'community' made cards, and cards provided by 'chocolate mustard toothpaste'. The auto fill feature will eventually support automatically crafted themed decks.

One final thing worth noting is that the software supports each individual participant to customize their own cards and assemble a proportion of the deck privately, so that when the deck arrives, everyone can be surprised as the game unfolds.

You can try the 'characterizer' (a feature that can create an alternate version of you on a character card) for free here.

After your one free 'characterizer' generation, you can create an account and join the email list for an additional 5 and 10 artwork credits, respectively. If you are accepted to be a playtester, I will provide additional AI art credits for you to create all your cards. Cards can also be made for free with your own provided artwork.

I am working on getting the kickstarter going, and the website will support direct sales after that. For now, I hope you check out the website and try making some cards!

Thanks!
