Discussion SCAM WARNING: Fake "Paid Playtest" on Discord using GameHookLab & Steam Beta Codes

• Upvotes

If anyone received a message or saw an invite from this community directing you to a platform called GameHookLab (gamehooklab.com) for a paid playtest (such as for the game Spheromania using beta code ghl393450000), do not participate. It is a malware scam. They use the guise of a paid testing platform to trick you into downloading custom Steam beta branches that execute info-stealers on your PC. What to do if you already ran it: Disconnect your PC from the internet immediately. Uninstall the game and manually check your Steam directory to delete any remaining files. Run a deep offline security scan (like Malwarebytes or Windows Defender Offline). From a completely safe device (like your phone): Change your Steam and primary email passwords. Deauthorize all active devices on your Steam account.

I built an AI murder-mystery game where the suspects lie to you — would love your feedback

Hi everyone, I’m Salman, a solo dev from Saudi Arabia. Over the past year I built Investigation Room (invsroom.com): you’re the detective, and you interrogate AI-driven suspects in free text. Each one has their own personality, secrets, and an agenda — they’ll dodge, deflect, and lie to you depending on what they’re hiding, and you have to catch the contradictions and solve the case.

Some of what went into it: every character has 800+ lines of instructions covering their psychology, their secrets, and how they try to mislead the detective, and we playtested a single case for 3 months straight to keep them consistent and un-jailbreakable. The Arabic version did well, and I just launched the English one.

I’m giving full access to anyone here who wants to try it. I’d especially love to hear:

  • Did the suspects ever break character or contradict themselves?
  • Could you get them to confess too easily?
  • Did the English dialogue feel natural? (not my first language)

Unpaid Playtest Looking for players for a free AI murder mystery you play over Discord (5 min a day, starts this week)

I'm building a text-based murder mystery game and running the first test games by hand before I build the app. Looking for a few people to play!

How it works: - You get a character and a secret that nobody else knows - Every day you get a short story update, plus a private part only your character sees - You choose what to do next (or write your own move), whenever suits you. It takes about 5 minutes a day - Everyone's choices collide: two people sneak into the same room, someone's lie unravels, someone doesn't make it to morning - At the end, every secret is revealed: who did it, who lied, who figured it out

Details: - Completely free, played on Discord - Runs for about a week - 3–5 players per game - Bring your friends: groups that sign up together are perfect. Solo players are welcome too; I'll put you in a group with others - Pick your setting: a creepy cabin in the woods, a heist where someone in the crew is a rat, or a dinner party where the host turns up dead

All I ask is that you play it through and tell me honestly what worked and what didn't.

Comment or DM me if you're in (and say whether you're bringing friends) and I'll send you the details 🔪

Unpaid Playtest [Browser/Android] Looking for playtesters for Pack Rush — free original-monster card battler

Hi everyone, I'm a solo indie developer looking for playtesters for Pack Rush, a free original-monster card battler. All the monsters are original creations — no licensed characters.

The game is live and playable right now, and I especially need live opponents and honest feedback. You can play in your browser with no install, or on Android:

Play in browser: https://pack-rush-web.stevetiger1234.workers.dev/ Game page: https://stevetiger1234.itch.io/pack-rush

How it works: you build a deck, open packs, and battle other players online. If nobody is in the queue, a house bot joins your match in about 30 seconds, so you always get a game — but what I really need is real players to test against each other.

What I'm hoping you'll tell me about: - Balance: do any cards or decks feel too strong or too weak? - The first 10 minutes: is it clear what to do, and does it hook you? - Pack opening: does it feel rewarding and fun?

This is an unpaid playtest, and the game is free to play. There are no cash payouts — in-game coins only, no cash out.

How to send feedback: please leave your feedback in the comments on this post. Short and honest is perfect — even a few lines about what confused you or what felt off helps a lot.

Thanks for giving it a try!

Unpaid Playtest [iOS] Looking for unpaid testers for Relic Survivor — multiplayer survival RPG

Hi everyone,

I'm Fran from Spain a solo indie developer and I'm looking for a few people to help me test Relic Survivor, a mobile RPG I've been developing for around a year.

The game mixes survival gameplay, character progression, abilities, bosses and multiplayer features. I'm currently working toward a much more stable version before preparing a larger launch.

At this stage I'm mainly interested in finding problems that are difficult for me to notice myself, especially:

  • bugs or crashes
  • server / multiplayer problems
  • confusing menus or mechanics
  • balancing issues
  • things that feel boring, frustrating or too difficult
  • controls and movement
  • general first impressions from someone playing for the first time

This is an unpaid playtest. The beta is completely free to access through TestFlight:

TestFlight:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/u9Y6bUDR

Platform: iOS
Web: relicsurvivors.com
Test slots: currently limited to 300 people.

You don't need to play for hours. Even 10–20 minutes and a few honest comments would already help me a lot.

I'm especially looking for honest criticism rather than compliments. If something doesn't make sense or simply isn't fun, I'd much rather know now while I'm still developing it.

Feedback method:
Please leave your feedback in the Reddit comments or send me a Reddit DM.

If you experience a bug, it would be very helpful if you could mention:

  • iPhone model
  • iOS version
  • what you were doing when it happened
  • whether you could reproduce it

As a thank you, I also plan to be very generous with all early testers at launch, with special in-game rewards for the people who helped me test and improve the game during this stage.

Thanks to anyone willing to give it a try.

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid Playtest] Three Android games: puzzle, car-dealer sim, strategy RPG

Hi r/playtesters, I’m looking for unpaid playtesters for three Android games in closed testing. You can choose one or more; each Play opt-in is separate.

• Arrow Escape is a tap-to-slide puzzle where each arrow moves in the direction it points. I’d value feedback on rule clarity, level difficulty, and controls.

• Oto Patron is a used-car dealership game: find and inspect cars, negotiate, repair, and sell. I’d value feedback on the gameplay loop and whether the economy feels balanced.

• District Wars is a crew-building strategy RPG about taking jobs, upgrading gear, and competing for territory. I’d value feedback on onboarding, progression, and combat clarity.

Join the Google tester group: https://groups.google.com/g/receezy

Then opt in to any game you want to try:

Arrow Escape: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.voysapps.arrowescape

Oto Patron: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.appsvoys.cargallery

District Wars: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.appsvoys.districtwars

Please leave honest feedback in Reddit comments: what felt good, what felt confusing, and where did you encounter bugs or stability problems? This is for testing and iteration; I’m not asking for a review or rating. Thank you!

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid] Looking for a few people to try our dark fantasy game blind... it's free, playable in browser

Hey everyone!

We're a tiny indie studio called Bad Omen Bureau, and we've just released the first public alpha of our game, Until the Bells Stop.

It's a dark fantasy survival reguelite action game where you fight through increasingly dangerous waves of enemies as the bells toll. You collect evidence, get stronger, and try to survive what's coming.

We've been playing and testing it ourselves for so long that we're probably blind to half the things that might confuse a new player.

So we're looking for a few people willing to jump in without any guidance and tell us how it actually feels.

Free alpha (browser or download):
https://hellobadomenbureaucom.itch.io/until-the-bells-stop

This is an unpaid playtest. No signup, no application, no obligation to finish.

A few things we'd really love to know:

  • Was anything confusing in the first few minutes?
  • Did the combat feel good, or did something feel off?
  • Was there a moment where you got frustrated or wanted to quit?
  • Would you actually want to play another run?

You can just leave feedback here in the comments. Even two sentences are useful. Bug reports are welcome too

(F8 in game sends a bug report)

We're still early in development and genuinely want to catch the things we're missing before going further.

Thanks to anyone who gives it a try!

...Bad Omen Bureau...

Unpaid Playtest [Searching Android playtesters] Wyrmdoku: A dragon-hunt logic roguelike!

🐉 Deep in the caves, dragons sleep in their burrows. Your task: find them all, with nothing but logic:

Wyrmdoku: A dragon-hunt logic roguelike 🐲

Put a ✕ where there can be no dragon, and claim a dragon if you're sure. If you gamble wrong, it will cost a heart.

A NEW HUNT EVERY RUN
• Ten floors, and at each fork, choose your path: dragon caves, Elder caves, the merchant, a campfire, or something unknown.
• Primordial caves and wyrmthrones guard every half of the descent. On a throne, the wyrm awakens as you think, so keep moving.
• Dangers change how you think: pitch-dark caves, winding tunnels, mirror caves, twin nests, extinguishing torches and more.
• Optional bounties in each cave reward a clean or fast hunt.
• 15 events: a dusty coffin, a pale stranger, a wishing well, a rival racing against you...

RELICS AND HUNTERS
• 20 relics change how you hunt: a lantern that safely lights a box, a thread that betrays a dragon's row, rewards for sequences and more.
• Four hunters, each with their own strengths. Collect hero fragments to unlock them.
• Bring the coat of arms of each hunter of Wood to Legendary mastery.
• Survived the wyrm? Descend into The deep, as far as you dare.

EVERY DAY
• The Daily lair: one fast cave against the clock, the same for everyone. Hold your sequence and share your time.
• The Daily Run: A full run with the same caves for each player.

MAKE IT YOURS
• Themes that give the entire game a different look, and board styles with proprietary lists, ✕markers, and claim effects.
• Wrath levels for when the caves become too easy.

HONEST AND FRIENDLY
• No ads. Can be played completely offline.
• Free to play. Everything can be earned by playing; the optional store only gets you there faster.
• Stuck? Insight shows you the next logical step.
• In Dutch and English.

*With an exclusive founders gift for all playtesters in the coming update!*

Unpaid Playtest 🚀 SYNVECTOR PROTOTYPE PLAYTEST - FIRST 100 PLAYERS!

We’re opening the first playtest of Synvector to 100 players!

Our prototype is still in a very early stage of development. There are plenty of bugs, technical issues, unfinished features, and rough edges. The gameplay is far from polished, and things may not always work as expected. We’re not hiding that. We want you to experience the game as it is right now.

Why invite players so early? Because your opinion can help shape the future of Synvector. We’re not just looking for bug reports. We want to understand what you enjoy, what feels frustrating, what you would change, and what could make this game truly interesting to its community.

Your feedback will help us decide where to take the game next and what to focus on during development. We want to build Synvector together with the people who are excited about it - not just make decisions behind closed doors.

If you’re among the first 100 players, please share your honest thoughts with us. Whether you love something, hate something, find a serious bug, or have an idea that could make the game better - we want to hear it.

We’ll read every piece of feedback. We can’t promise to implement every suggestion, but your voice will help guide our development.

Thank you for joining us at the very beginning of this journey. 🌌

Name: Starforged

link: https://github.com/PixalX/wvt-starforged

platform: Pc, windows is confirmed unsure of others

i am looking for play testers for my game. it is Pc only for now, I do plan on adding a mobile version though. I am the only dev on this project, however one of my friends did do the art. I’m not too sure the genre but it was inspired by roguelikes. It takes place in space. You play as an astronaut, every enemy killed gives money. There is only one boss, but when done there will be three total. It is my first game, and has had lots of work put into it. There are 3 different enemy types for now, but there will be more. The shop is incomplete, but should work fine for what is implemented right now. All feedback is welcome, I put lots of effort into this and would like to know what I can improve. Thanks in advance. (Also you can press t to give yourself money, debug only)

fully free to play, no key needed. No money involved

Unpaid Playtest [Unpaid, iOS] Meridian — 10–15 minute playtest of onboarding, movement and room building

I’m looking for people to playtest Meridian, a multiplayer pixel art world with personal rooms, furniture collecting and trading, shared social spaces and jobs. The iOS beta is free; this is an unpaid test.

Install: https://testflight.apple.com/join/4sDEk5u4

Suggested session: around 10–15 minutes on an iPhone.

Please try getting through the initial setup, exploring one shared room, then finding your own room and placing or moving some furniture. I’m interested in where the game fails to explain itself and where the touch controls get in your way.

A reply to this post with where you got stuck, anything that felt awkward, and your iPhone model/iOS version is plenty. If there’s a bug, the steps that led to it would help. No recording, survey or ongoing testing commitment required.

It’s a small beta, so you may find the shared spaces quiet. You can still test the onboarding and building controls on your own. Thanks for helping me improve it.

Unpaid Playtest Seeking 6 first-time players for a 10–15 min browser puzzle playtest (mobile + desktop)

• Upvotes

Hi! We’re Gameslop Cats Studio, looking for six people who haven’t played Marangoni Maze to try its first few minutes. If you enjoy casual or puzzle games, you’re welcome. Ideally, we’d have three phone players and three desktop players.

You guide water around small 3D worlds using guide drops. It’s free, available in English and Russian, and runs in a desktop or mobile browser. No installation or mandatory Playgama account. The game has ads and optional purchases; this test requires no purchases. Development is AI-assisted.

This is an unpaid, 10–15 minute session: play for about five minutes without explanations, then answer a few questions. You can stop anytime. The observer watches your game screen and does not record the live session. We’ll agree on timing and a screen-sharing method through Reddit. If live sharing doesn’t work, an optional recording of the game screen is an alternative we can agree on beforehand.

Game link — save for the agreed session. Please wait to start until we arrange your first play.

To join, comment with your device/browser and a puzzle or casual game you’ve played recently.

Paid Playtest [Paid $10 via PayPal, Windows / Steam, 40 min, Recorded] Looking for 10 playtesters for my upcoming 2D ARPG platformer

EDIT: ITS CLOSED NOW. THANK YOU ALL AND SEE YOU IN THE NEXT ROUND <3

Hey guys! I'm looking for 10 playtesters for my game, ROAM. It’s a Dark Fantasy Action RPG combined with survival, crafting, and deadly platforming.

Download the demo here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2662550/Roam/

Playtesting task:

  • Play through the demo on Easy difficulty. It should take around 40 minutes, or less if you manage to defeat the first boss, the Plague Apostle. Keep the current world seed (333335). Ignore the Ice Biome, as it's intended for players who want to spend more time exploring the game's mechanics.
  • Record your gameplay using OBS or similar software, then send me a link to the video. YouTube is preferred, but Google Drive or other file-sharing services are also fine. Recording your voice while playing would be greatly appreciated, but it's not required.
  • Answer a few questions from the list below in my Discord.

Questions:

  • What's your overall impression of the game?
  • What do you think of the economy, trading, crafting, and cooking systems? Were there enough resources and gold?
  • How does the combat feel? What do you think of the game's difficulty?
  • How does the grappling hook feel? Is it fun to swing around with the current world generation?
  • What do you think of the variety of exploration and content overall?
  • How's the performance? Did you encounter any bugs?
  • Would you consider buying the game? What do you think would be a reasonable price for it? Where are you from?

IMPORTANT: Do you think the game needs any of the following?

  • More quests and lore
  • A deeper crafting system
  • A more complex skill tree
  • More combat variety
  • More types of threats, such as traps, nests, mini-events, anomalies, etc.
  • Pets system
  • Multiplayer

If you could pick just 1–2 things you'd like to see improved in the game, what would they be?

Any other thoughts or impressions you'd like to share would be EXTREMELY helpful!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DON'T DM ME. DMs will be ignored. Just comment below with your favorite game genres, and if you're selected, I'll DM you with the Discord link and further instructions.

Thanks in advance!

Unpaid Playtest Looking for Playtesters for Haunted Hotel Manager - Inn Kreeper

• Upvotes

Looking for playtesters who enjoy management games with a farming sim like approach. Inn Kreeper is a top down pixel art game where you trap alien guest in your house and execute them in over the top cartoonish traps, and sell their ghost for money to grow your business. I've had a lot of good feedback from steam Next Fest, and was able to fix a lot of bugs.

I'd like some more feedback from anyone who enjoys this sort of game. While I'd love to offer compensation monetarily, because everyone's time is valuable, I've invested a lot of what little funds my partner and I have to promotion and other expenses. I'd be happy to include a real or username in the credits as a QA tester (Team Softlockers) at the very least.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, feel free to reach out to me for a key or if you have any questions.

Unpaid Playtest DeFuZion! Wild Dice, a 15 minute dice game in private alpha on Board Game Arena. Playtesters wanted, happy to test yours back

Hi everyone, I'm Kevin, a first-time designer in Malvern, PA. My game DeFuZion! Wild Dice is in private alpha on Board Game Arena and I'm looking for playtesters.

The game: 2 to 6 players, about 15 minutes. You roll dice and match them to cards to score. Cards you can't cover deal damage to your FuZe, and if it drops below zero you explode. Highest FuZe at the end wins.

How to join: it's private alpha, so there's no public link. Comment or DM me your BGA username and I'll add you to the players group, usually the same day. There's also a one-question signup form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfFjY19L3cSM2n986XJn29_NE_1ppBavU20ShJY_z0Zdxm64Q/viewform A BGA account is free, it plays in the browser, and turn-based tables are fine.

Feedback: Reddit comments or DMs right here are perfect. I'm after honest impressions. What felt confusing, what felt flat, where the game lost you.

It's free to play, and playtesters get thanked by name in the rulebook. Happy to test your game back in return, just send me yours.

Thanks for reading! Kevin (Dumbotron Games)

Unpaid Playtest Deadflow looking for testers

Deadflow is a zombie defense game where you never give your soldiers an order. A horde of 40,000 zombies floods a modern town, and your weapon is the town itself. Before nightfall you spend 100 points on rifle squads, barricades, stake fields and noise bells, and you aim antennas that push the horde away during random power spikes. Then you press “Let them come!” and watch the battle play out on its own. The zombies move as one huge tide, so every wall you build changes where they go. They pile up against walls and climb over them. Rooftop squads get a clear shot but have nowhere to run.

We’re looking for playtesters to tell us whether planning a defense and then watching it hold or collapse is fun, and whether it makes you want to try “just one more” layout. Each night is short, and Retry replays the same night so you can improve your plan.

How to play: play in your browser with a mouse. Press Q to place squads, E for barricades, R for stakes and T for bells. Drag from an antenna to aim it, and right-click to remove anything. When you’re ready, press Enter to start. During the battle you only control the camera and the speed (1/2/3, Space to pause). You win if the square holds until dawn.

IMPORTANT: If you want to help us with the development, you can playtest your play by recording your screen with this tool: https://app.playcocola.com/i/a8b192cd-bb9c-4054-a1e4-a8e001a66e20 (no login required)
