I turned a spreadsheet into a creepy-cute claw machine game called Uncosy
Hey! I'm Rohan Moon and I'm the solo dev behind Uncosy, my first Steam release.
Uncosy actually started as a spreadsheet, as I wanted to explore what the math behind games like Webfishing looked like on paper. Webfishing is a huge source of inspiration for Uncosy. While I was figuring out drop rates and rarities I had the idea that a claw machine fits the math really well, and that's where the idea came from.
As I was exploring some art styles for the plushies I wanted, I decided to try out something low-poly, and when I put in a placeholder texture at really low resolution, it looked grimy and gross, but was still kind of lovable and cute. So I decided I would really lean into the retro-grunge aesthetic and explore what I've been calling "Creepy Cute".

In Uncosy players find themselves in a dilapidated arcade, where the only thing that works is an odd looking claw machine. Players progress by selling their plushies to unlock new skills, upgrade their claw machine, and decorate their environment.
Turns out, retro style games running at a fixed resolution with low-poly low-res art run really well on even older hardware, and so I've been able to list pretty reasonable specs (2GB RAM, only 300MB storage, integrated graphics etc.), which I'm really happy with.
If you like the look and genre of Uncosy I'd really love to hear what you think about the demo (which you can play now in Next Fest), and I'd REALLY love to see any ultra-rare shinies people can catch. Uncosy is releasing on the 17th November.

Jono | Trailer | a free Steam game, where only 1 player can play at a time in the whole world
A simple platformer where only 1 player in the world can play at a time, while the rest are spectating and waiting for their turn.
You can put yourself in queue and wait for your turn to play, and chat globally while waiting, and play around with all the various silly features meant for spectators.
There's a built-in level editor where you can create levels, and have others play them - your levels will be queued for as well!
A weird experimental game, but totally free!
You can watch people play it live here:

Alia Domus, a pixel-art survival RPG, is in Steam Next Fest - free demo is live
Hi everyone! I’m a solo developer and I’ve been working on Alia Domus, a pixel-art survival and exploration RPG set on an unknown planet.
You play as a colonist trying to survive, explore, craft, complete quests, and progress through nine eras of technology. The game includes varied biomes, more than 120 animals, 140 real plant species, farming, crafting, and a lot of exploration.
Alia Domus is part of Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26. The free demo is already live, and I’d love for you to try it if the game looks interesting to you.
If you enjoy it, a wishlist would help a lot during the festival. It is a small but important way to support an indie game before launch.
Steam demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4918370/Alia_Domus/
I’m also happy to answer any questions about the game, the development process, or the demo.

[AMA&GIVEAWAY] We are the Once Human dev team - Once Human Free Ocean DLC is launching on Oct 21 (PT). AMA!

Hey r/pcgaming, I'm Vincent, one of the producers on Once Human.
Quick context if you haven't run into us: it's a free-to-play strange-world survival game set in a world that got torn up by cosmic stuff. You build a base, craft, capture these creatures we call Deviations, and try not to die. It's PC-native, with cross-play and cross-progression across PC, mobile, and console. If you've played games like Palworld, Grounded, or 7 Days to Die, you'll feel right at home. We just lean harder into the eerie, atmospheric side of it.
- Here to check out our game on Steam
I've got u/LOWEY_OnceHumanGame_ with me from the team, and we're hosting this AMA together.
We're here to announce the big news: Once Human is releasing the new ocean DLC on Oct 21(PT), 2026. It's completely free to play - no P2W, ever. There's a bunch of new content, from gameplay to story, gear to Deviations, building to exploration.
\Reservations close on the 21st. Everyone who reserves gets a kit of survival supplies to help you get going faster.*
🗓️ The AMA Schedule: Start dropping your questions in the comments right now! We're collecting them today. Tomorrow, we will be here live to answer them. The answering session kicks off on Oct 20 at 00:00 PT and runs until Oct 21 at 00:00 PT. We'll be dropping in throughout those 24 hours to cover as much ground as we can.
You may ask us about:
- Gameplay and features: the new story, ocean and undersea exploration, new combat styles, etc.
- Game Direction: Mechanics optimization, future development plans, and our roadmap.
- The Hard Questions: Monetization, long-standing bugs, and server balance.
We're not dodging the tough topics - we'd rather have an honest conversation than cherry-pick the easy ones.
🎁 Giveaway:
To celebrate the new DLC and this AMA, here's a redeem code [ yp3e7p3yyn ] everyone can use!
PLUS:
- 3 lucky players will each get a $50 Steam gift card
- 5 lucky players will each get an in-game redeem code worth $20
Lucky players will be announced on Oct 22 at 00:00 PT.
We know a lot of you have been asking for a new scenario for a long time. It's here now, and it's one we've taken our time with. If you drifted away, come take a look. Drop a question and you're in. Fire away, r/pcgaming. We're ready :)))

The Black Pool is on sale for $5 for a few more hours, coop shooter roguelike with Returnal-esque vibes
I had this game on my wishlist for a long time and bought it during this sale, wish I had got it sooner. I'm very impressed and enjoying it a lot so far. Returnal, Lovecraft, SCP, Risk of Rain 2 all come to mind.
Its a 4 player coop 3rd person roguelike where you get to pick from 9 elements for your abilities, with each one having I think 6 variations, light attack, heavy attack, support, dash, jump, AOE buff. The elements each provide status effect bonuses as well, like filling the earth status makes the next damaging attack dealt double. You also get synergy unlocks between them.
As roguelikes go, you get upgrades for the skills as you progress, which I've found diverse for what I've seen. Example, I took ice for my jump skill, which makes a platform under you (and for your teammates if you play coop, I'm solo). Then I got an upgrade that gave me 40% chance to refresh the "double jump" cooldown up to 4 times, so I could make a trail of ice platforms up to an optional area in a level for extra powerups. I got a sick chaos boomerang spell that got a stacking dmg buff if I caught it on the way back (it had a return targeting reticle to stand on).
It's very bright and full of neon color illuminating fog, each element has its own color. The soundtrack is dark synth with an 80s vibe like Stranger Things.
I don't have anyone to gush about the game to, so I'm doing it here. It's on sale for $5 for the next few hours and it'd be cool to see more joinable games in the matchmaking list.
