I will probably never get over the fact there isn’t a single reference to Myths and Monsters in Uprising - aside from the slight possibility the armor of the Three Sacred Treasures might be a reference to the Silver Armor from that game, which replaced the Mirror Shield in that game for some reason.
I get the likely reason it’s not acknowledged is because Myths and Monsters was never released in Japan until the rerelease on the 3DS Virtual Console - only a month before Uprising was released, even - but c’mon! Not even the localizers snuck in a reference?
With how obsessed the game is at referencing both itself as a game as well as the first KI game, they could’ve at least given us something.
Like maybe during the Chaos Kin arc when Pit is storming Skyworld, there could’ve been an exchange like:
Pit: “Ya know, with how ruined Skyworld looks, it reminds me of that other time it got invaded.”
Viridi: “What do you mean? Skyworld only ever got invaved by Medusa.”
Hades: “As much as I hate to say it, Pitty, I have to agree with the pint-sized Goddess. I don’t remember my Underworld army ransacking this place at any point between now and your first fight with Medusa. I spent that whole 25 years strategizing, after all. And I assure you when say I run a very tight ship.”
Pit: “Well, it didn’t involve the two of you, so of course you don’t remember it!”
(Chaos Kin) Palutena: “Pit? What did I tell you when I tasked you with that mission?
Pit: “U-Um…to keep it a secret?”
(Chaos Kin) Palutena: “I’ll be sure to have a hard discussion with you after I crush you like an ant.”
Viridi: “Hahah! Wow! Even under the Chaos Kin’s control, Palutena’s still got you whipped.”
Hades: “I guess the little angel is just better at taking orders when being bullied by goddesses.” (Alluding to both Viridi and Palutena).
I dunno. I just thought about this the other day when I was playing the game again, and so I scripted up this whole interaction for fun.
