Can someone explain replaceable battery to me

I’ve never had a problem with any Nintendo products - I still use my old Nintendo 2DS XL

I also have an old switch that still works fine

I’m just wondering if it’s worth cancelling my Zelda switch 2 and trying to get a preorder of the replaceable version?

Are people thinking like 10+ years down the line?

Price on amazon

Just a quick question, how come the zelda pro controller is £120 on amazon when the usual price is much less?

Is this to deter scalpers/bots and will the price actually be lower?

Thanks for any answers

Edit: also sorry if this has been asked before I searched and couldn't find information and I want to actually ask humans and not ai 😅

Edit edit: I guess I helped people know its in stock, go get it!

ShopTo Bundle, V2?

Does anyone know whether the bundle currently listed on shopto for £494, with console + game, is the version with replacement battery?

Didn't spot it in the description, but wanted to double check!

Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Replaceable Battery Situation

Post image
26 Upvotes

Hey have you guys seen the replaceable battery option at Smyth Toys?

When I checked with Nintendo Store they said that theirs won't have it at launch which have pi**ed me off so much that I feel like cancelling that order and taking my chances to hunt for a newer model.

While typing this I got a response from a Nintendo Store rep who confirmed that their models will NOT have replaceable batteries. However, things may change (hoping anyway) and they might give those? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Idk. If it doesn't have the replaceable batteries, upon receipt I'll just return it.

Extra Zelda 40th switch 2

I’ve ordered two 40th anniversary switch consoles just in case one retailer lets me down, and on the odd chance that both do infact arrive I was wondering if anyone wanted the extra one? I wouldn’t charge anything over what I paid for it but I’m sure there’s lots of people who couldn’t get hold of one, but yeah just dm me and if both get dispatched I’ll let you know

I absolutely caved yesterday, little built of guilt, but overall excited

saw the OOT trailer and absolutely crumbled at the idea of playing it again, I’m normally not this impulsive but I completely cracked,

im excited to play some of the games I’ve missed out on over the last 5/10 years and replaying a few others.

i hold my stance on the look of BoTW and ToTK that they don’t look like and don’t function like Zelda games but hey I’m open minded and will try them,

has anyone else buckled, what games have you got ?

anyone recommend any games from the last 10 years that need revisiting ?

The Zelda Ocarina of Time Overview Trailer

Post image

Did you guys to watch the overview trailer?

I absolutely ADORE the style and love the new features 🤩, I can't wait to dig in. I just WISH they used British voice actors as honestly I'm not really into many the voices 😩. It's not a big deal though, worst comes to worst I'd just change to voice overs (hoping they have that option). The link for the trailer is attached.

Buying my first Nintendo console since the GameCube – Switch 2 advice and game recommendations?

Hey everyone!

I’m looking at picking up a Nintendo Switch 2, mainly because I’m travelling a lot more for work these days and fancy having something to play while I’m away.

I haven’t actually owned a Nintendo console since the GameCube, so I’ve missed out on quite a few generations of games! I’m really looking forward to the upcoming Pokémon and Legend of Zelda games, but I’d love some advice from people who are already enjoying their Switch 2.

A few things I’m wondering about:

1. Game recommendations?

I’m mainly interested in single-player experiences with a good story, exploration, or just something I can sink hours into while travelling. I’ve been looking at Donkey Kong Bananza, which looks great, but what else would you recommend? I’m open to pretty much anything!

2. Streaming apps?

Can you get apps like Netflix, Disney+ or Amazon Prime Video on the Switch 2? And if so, how well do they work? It would be great to have one device for gaming and watching stuff while I’m away in hotels.

3. The Zelda 40th Anniversary console – use it or keep it sealed?

This is probably my biggest dilemma!
I’ve currently got the 40th Anniversary Edition Legend of Zelda console on pre-order, but I’m torn about what to do with it.

Part of me thinks it might be worth keeping it sealed as a collectible and picking up a standard Switch 2 to actually use. But the other part of me thinks I should just say fuck it, open the Zelda edition and enjoy it as my main console.

Do you reckon these special editions will hold their value or become genuinely collectible over time? Or am I overthinking it and should just enjoy the thing?

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts, especially from anyone who’s made the jump back to Nintendo after a long break!

Cheers!

GAME - just cancelled pro controller order

Ocarina of Time edition - Predictable from such a shoddy brand, but yep they cancelled today, when I thought I had been one of the lucky ones. Has anyone elses GAME pre-order survived?

Where to buy the new Switch 2 revision (with replaceable battery) in London?

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 in the coming days, but I am specifically looking for the newer revision tailored to the EU "right to repair" regulations (the one with the easily replaceable battery instead of the heavily glued one).

Since UK retailers are likely still clearing out older launch stock, I want to buy it in person at a physical store in London so I can check the box and serial numbers before paying.

Has anyone recently bought a Switch 2 in London and managed to get this new batch?

  • Which stores are my best bet to find the new stock? Flagship GAME on Oxford Street, Currys, or maybe a larger Argos / Sainsbury's?
  • Did the staff give you any trouble when asking to check the serial number/product code on the box before purchasing?

Any tips or confirmed sightings of the new revision in specific London stores would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Anyone ever ordered from Mecca-Japan?

I saw their advert on Twitter earlier and decided to give them a go since I've read that they're legit. They have different shipping options with the cheapest being £11 something if memory serves. It can get as high as £25 (I think) for DHL.

Sharing incase anyone's interested.

Another Cancellation From AO (just like Very)

Post image
6 Upvotes

Mine got cancelled too and a similar thing happened to me with Very UK but with the Metroid Ravenous Special Edition.

I guess our last hope will be to wait on the Nintendo Store for restocks (apart from Ebay I guess 🤮). I saw on Nintendo Store Australia's Twitter that they'll be restocking soon so barring that in mind along with the heads up the UK Store said re it restocking at a later date, I think we just have to keep our eyes peeled.

The HotStock App is helpful for updates.

Will update as soon as I see it.

Happy hunting!

Query on how click and collect works at John and Lewis

I will be on a very tight schedule and can only manage to snag something from John and Lewis on my way to my destination. I’m not a citizen of the UK and don’t have a local number. On the site they have mentioned collection is only possible after 3pm, is that only applicable for the immediate next day or for every day for the 7 day period they have it with them? Also if I’m unable to grab it, whats the refund process like?
