Just Got my first Diamine Inks, it is a Diamine Crimson. It’s only natural that i draw Crimson Chin with Diamine Crimson. How couldn’t i ? Really dig the color in cream paper. Happy journaling everyone.

Journal entry tarot + coffee + book
Happy Thursday all! This morning’s tarot card is the Two of Wands, representing a crossroads that offers an opportunity to do something outside of the routine. As with all important decisions, these opportunities do not come without risk. This card however reminds us that there can be adventure and excitement to be had in this fleeting life, but it’s also essential to plan and strategize.
I wrote about my car being recently stolen and totaled, with the subsequent valuation/payout being significantly higher than I expected. My crossroads is this: do I stay in my default mode of going with a reliable, “responsible” replacement— or do I step out of my comfort zone and look for something way more fun? I mean, life is short. Will I live it with regrets? A departure from my much more spiritual/internal reads of these cards.
I read The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath this week— a groundbreaking novel set in an era where mental health was demonized/stigmatized and rarely discussed in the public sphere. Although a few passages are definitely relics of their time, the general themes in this book still resonate strongly today.

Journal entry Morning train journaling, no table edition
Writing on my lap during my daily bumpy ride into Boston. I really don’t like these cars without tables as I know my already rough handwriting is going to look even worse.

Discussion/Question Current mental battle ://
I’m currently on my (I think) 17th journal and I do obviously enjoy keeping a journal but recently my mind is getting in the way of me enjoying the practice to its fullest as I feel like I’m not being “productive” enough (whatever that means 🙄) it’s like I feel as though the act of just sitting and blabbering all my thoughts is a waste of time or something when I could be doing something with more of an end result 😩
I hate that recently I’m thinking this way, it’s like it needs to earn its place or something which I’ve never felt in the past.
Not sure if this is all the more reason to journal to get this silly perspective out of my head or whether this is the effect of constant hustle culture in society being pushed onto us to feel like taking a moment is “selfish” or “useless”
But if anyone else has had this struggle or could just provide some insight into the benefits of journaling even if it is just brain dumping or writing blabber that feels insignificant that would be maybe what my mind might need to get past this block!!
Thank you fellow journalers! :))

Discussion/Question Writing patterns/recurring jokes
I wondered if anyone else has noticed recurring writing patterns or jokes in your writing? If so what are your favorite ones? For example, I’ll often write “Maybe it’s __this one thing___. Maybe it’s __this other thing___. Maybe it’s maybelline”.
I’ll also take my metaphors literally as a joke. Like this one I read from my second journal this week: “everyone was clapping so loud it sounded like a thunderstorm and popping popcorn. Not at the same time. That would be wet popcorn.” That entry was from 2015, but I’ll still write similarly sometimes.

Journal entry One day.. I hope I have a great-granddaughter, and I hope she consumes my journals like reality TV
You know you’re deep in to writing when handwriting, grammar, and punctuation run off the paper 🤓 Oh, for anyone who was intrigued enough to read, this guy and I had the same name and almost same last name. That’s how I know meeting had a purpose. My baby is the other crossed out name(:

Discussion/Question I am trying to journal and let it all out emotionally but I am not able to write it all out... What do I do when I feel stuck like this?
My mind feels so heavy and I feel like writing it all down and flushing it all away through journalling.
Trust me I am very much into writing but right now my mind feels so stuck and whenever I open the book, I find myself feeling stuck with no idea on what to begin with. What to write with. What words to use. It's as if I am constipated in terms of words. It's frustrating me rn so much I'm gonna cry

Discussion/Question Favourite Journals to Read?
I want to get inspired to write more and always find reading journals or diaries a great way to get motivated. What are your favourite journals of famous/not so famous authors to read? Preferably non fiction but I loved Diary of a Nobody so happy to try fiction. Anything that can spark that inspiration to pick up a pen.

Journal entry Couldn’t commit to throwing it out
A page from my journal I wrote about a friend. I have strong feelings for him but in not sure what those feelings are. I feel so deeply for everyone in my life. Anyways, I was reading this to another friend of mine and got so embarrassed I tore it up mid read. However, I loved this piece of writing so much that I couldn’t part with it and put it back together at 2am. I single-handedly thing this is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever written about a person.

Journal entry I’m from a South Asian country, so I’m not sure how relatable this will be to people from other parts of the world. But it’s something a lot of us experience, and I felt like sharing it. It’s a bit of a long read, but I’d love to hear your thoughts if you feel like reading🤍

Prompts What themes are your journals?
I can’t stop buying blank journals but am not great at keeping a daily journal - I sometimes find it a bit monotonous.
I’ve got several different themes for my journals but am looking for inspiration for more or different ideas. So far I have
Lyrics
Quotes
Saints
History of Rome
History of Scotland
Dreams
Gratefulness
Current favourites
Movies and book reviews
Interesting rabbit holes
Does anyone else fill their journal with different things and if so what?? LET ME KNOW!!
