How long can I realistically use my iphone x for tiktok, Instagram and messenger? Battery replacement isn't an issue I just wanna know how long can I use those apps for

My phone is an IPhone X. For about a year now, ChatGpt has been telling me that it is limited in operation because it needs IOS 17. The phone, on the other hand, has no other IOS available, except IOS 16.7.16. More recently, in the last few days, Revolut has not been working either, who initially replied in an email that it could not be from IOS, that it also works on IOS 15, only to then reply again that it will only work from versions above IOS 18, and that I have to log in on another device! How is this possible?! In these days with such advanced technology, it is already obvious how they force you to buy new devices in this way!! It is shameful for the IPhone in the first place!

Additionally, in the last few days neither Bluetooth nor HotSpot, which were working perfectly a few days ago, no longer work! Incredible!

Does anyone know if these things can be sufficient grounds to be sued?

How do y'all survive off 64 gb without filling it up completely?? , I'm only using it as a secondary phone to take pictures and use social media apps. My main has 256 but I like the camera and os of the iphone x

After a minute of ongoing call, it just shuts down. Phone call, online call, anything that uses the call method. Phone just shutsdown after a min. Sometimes it lasts for 20sec

I just downloaded Mapquest because I had some free time. I figured it wouldn’t work on an iPhone X, but it does! I can’t trust apps that change the names of international bodies of water by fiat from a demented & deluded orange dirtbag.

More and more apps are pushing iOS 18.x, while most apps support Android 9.

I’m on an American Airlines flight. I couldn’t get the inflight Viasat entertainment to load. The same for a lot of their sites on the ground, simply do not work.

Meanwhile, my Galaxy S5 running Android 6.0.1, it works fine. Even plays videos. I’m starting to think this is planned obsolescence.

Even more concerning, I also brought an iPhone 6 just for fun, and I got no connection whatsoever. The portal doesn’t even load, just stays on a blue screen.

Before anyone asks, everything else works including the free Wi-Fi but not their entertainment page.

The phone is actually an iPhone 8, but since the iPhone 8 sub is locked and this is the closest public sub, I just posted here since they have the same specs and iOS version

Hi there, I would like to know how you guys would export/backup photos and videos and stuff from iPhone without Mac devices like MacBooks and iMacs. And what are the ways to do so? I’m not familiar with iPhones (not very much of an expert) I’m not satisfied with iPhones being difficult to backup unlike old android/ Samsung phones (whoops my bad 😜🤪) which are easy peasy (like the ones from 2015) and not complicated. My main concern is that I want the original date and time to be intact and never to be overwritten at all (meaning that I want the same information/details of the file such as date and time of creation without the new date). So what do you guys use? Thanks in advance!

Edit:just to make sure, I want the original date and time and information for my files.

PSA 2026-10-01: Pulled up GE App to skip the long GE kiosk line, only to find out GE App has been replaced by TT App. What’s worse? TT only operates on iOS18+, so my fellow iPhone X users are SOL. I am down to one banking App and no investment App. Safari can’t even pull up Southwest or United without 5-10 minutes of processing, then errors galore. This forced obsolescence is starting to wear me down.

Ik 9 years old phone, i do have a secondary phone, a galaxy A50 but if I replace the battery here in India for abt 30 dollars i am hoping to see more battery life? Ik i can get myself a new phone but i am 15 gng😭✌️ I can’t take a yt vid for 15 mins without loosing like 30 percent

We are getting our daughter (13yo) her first phone because she is starting to take public transportation on her own and we need something more reliable/trackable than her current Apple watch. I dug out my old iPhone X and it powered on just fine and seems to be holding a charge. Is this phone acceptable as a teen's first phone, or should we get her a newer version that's still supported by Apple? All we need the phone to do is call, text, share location, and support Google Maps. No need for any other apps. Should I restore the phone to its factory settings before transferring her e-sim, or just log out of my iCloud on that phone? Thanks for your advice!

I got the iPhoneX in 2017 when I was a teenager and it was very impressive and I was like a miner who found gold down by the river. I grew up poor so we didn't really have the nice tech as my mom prioritized simple working useful products. So when I was making money during the summer I made it my goal to get this iPhone x in the fall and I actually did it. It survived failed relationships, numerous car crashes, too many failed career pivots, and unfortunately some of my favorite manga creators.

That being said I made a promise to myself to update it once some "new" came along. Something that would bring that magic to me that would make me smile alone at night just holding it. It might not happen since I'm older and now I'm used to the modern tech landscape nowadays but I settle for something that's closer to that level still.

I hear that there might be the iPhone XX next year but it's still a rumour and my iPhone X lasts a very short time. She fell, been in the sun a bit too long, and the glass scratched me a couple times. My banking apps don't work and you can forget about gaming apps. I do use chrome and YouTube as well as the basic essentials. Texting works. Email works. Calling works. Browsing still works. I just don't have a strong need but now that I have ambition regarding work I feel that promise was a bit too childish as of now. I feel like this is the end of an era and the beginning of something new.

If this is my last post on this sub then I made a choice. If not then maybe there's more time for this trusty old phone.

I recently change my iphone x battery, In a few days my camera and face id works fine and then i was using my camera and it suddenly go blackout and I turned it on and when I check in camera the front cam does not work and the face id the rear cam works but only one lens working and it takes a long time to work it just black in rear and you gotta wait a few minutes to make the rear camera work again but the front cam is totally not working it is just black, I tried to check the flex but it is connected its not loose. Can someone help or I just need to change the camera?
