Suggestions for reference sites?

I have a few I'd like to put in the side bar, but I'd like to know what else people think would be share to the masses.

Edit: I've stickied this post and am working on a wiki. I plan on adding all the link from here to the wiki :)

New Fruit Holder 🌙⭐️

I'm so excited, I got a great deal. I got this blue moon & star fruit holder, the last two pictures also show a green smaller one I already had to show the size comparison. Initally this antique seller had this piece in her booth for about 84 bucks, I passed it up. Then I saw online that her whole booth was 50% off (exculding "firm" prices). Then it had a sale tag for 48, so 48, then 50% off, lead me to getting it for about 25 with tax. I'm so excited! 🤩🌙⭐️

Some of my latest thrifting/antiquing hauls

So, I am an avid collector of Carnival glass. I went home recently to visit and brought back a ton of items. This is just some of what I came home with. Do I know what any of it is at the moment? No. Do I care? Kind of...but I will figure it out.

I am absolutely in love with the reddish plate and the purple fish mug. I think the purple mug is a Dugan, and then of course a couple of the pieces are Indiana glass, but if anyone does know off the top of their head what a piece is, please let me know. If not, no big, I can catalog and research later myself!

Any info on this piece? What makes it glow?

Hello!!! I was recently gifted this piece from a friend and was wondering if anyone had any additional info on it other than the maker, Glass Act Studio.

I'm also wondering what is in/on it to make it glow? (Glow pic at the end)

Thank you!!

This is the first piece of glass I ever collected! I got it because it reminded me of my favorite flower: Tiger Lilies (got at Walmart)

Snatched up at the thrift today for $10! Unsure if it’s uranium or another kind of glowy glass.

I forgot I even had this. Hit it with the black light for fun and was amazed! Not at all what I expected. Definitely not uranium glass.

Help dating a hollow-blown glass candlestick

I’m trying to establish the age and possible origin of this hand-blown glass candlestick.

Ive found some close examples from the 18th and 19th century. Im not sure if this belongs in that same category tho.

It has a long candle socket above two hollow, rounded knops. The interior is continuous from the opening through both knops, ending in a rounded cavity a few centimetres above the foot. The foot appears to be separately applied and has a rough, unpolished pontil scar.

The glass is pale turquoise throughout. There are numerous small bubbles and dark inclusions.

Measurements:

Height: approximately 16 cm (6.3 in)

Rim diameter: approximately 5 cm (2.0 in)

Opening: approximately 2–2.5 cm (0.8–1.0 in)

Foot diameter: 7.3 cm (2.9 in)

Grimy antique art-glass shade. No marks. I was too impatient to clean it to see what it looked like lit up!

Found this at local resale shop. Heavy and beautiful with no chips or scratches. I am not sure if this is Murano or not but I love it regardless. I think it was worth $26 😁 What do you think?

Picked these up thrifting. Possible Cerium glass?

I got these thrifting the other day. Not really sure what the original purpose for them is, I just think they look cool under 365nm UV light when they glow blue. Each one has “SIN” printed on the bottom. They stack nicely into each other. It was 50% off so I got the set of three for $4.50 which I think for the price was a win 😃

Trying to identify an acid etched lamp.

Hello r/glasscollecting , my parents have a lamp at home which has an etched signature but we can't find a maker.

Does anyone here know for sure what make it is or from what factory it came?
We looked on the net for years for pictures of signatures but only the big names pop up. This isn't one of them AFAIK.

I tried to upload it to artificial detection methods but the things couldn't figure it out either.

Thank you in advance for making a guess or even better a sure answer.

EDIT: I said "acid etched" in the header but it's probably cameo glass etched by a tool not acid.

Lady who works as the business next to where I work knows I tumble rocks and whatnot, she brought me this bottle asking me to tumble it for her, I’d love to find a replacement for her if it’s not a crazy price or anything, tumble hers and when I give back I gift the new bottle as well, any tips would be awesome, that’s a quarter on the light box for size

Any help identifying this glass?

Thumbnail gallery

Can anybody here help me with this glass? I purchased this for $.50 at Habitat for Humanity. It stands 7 inches tall. The mouth is a little under 5 inches wide. I believe in the foot is a little under 4 inches wide. I can tell it was all hand cut. It is lead crystal. It’s not thick. It’s very thin. Thinking it’s a blank that was cut by someone possibly European. Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t always find Iittala when I go thrifting, but when I do the price is always very very nice 🤗
Does anybody know how to pinpoint the approximate age of these? I see them labeled “vintage” but never any specs. Thanks!
