We survived another round in the kiln.
Be nice. Don't be a dick.

Trying something new. This thread will be the catch all for buying/selling/promotion for stuff. Same rules apply as everywhere else.
The only major rule change is that drop shipping or products of that ilk are not allowed. If you see something suspicious, report it. I will see it.

Hello! Super nervous to put my work on the internet for the world to see so bear with me, lol. I finished this monarch vase recently and love it! The man who runs the local studio says I should sell my work but I have no idea how to assign a fair value to a piece. This one specifically has gotten a fair bit of interest but I have no idea about pricing SO…
What would you charge for something like this?
It has 7 total butterflies painted with underglaze.
Thank you so much for any of the feedback!

I’m so happyy, I am not new to sculpting as I finished art school, but my first time actually firing and glazing! I’m so relieved it didn’t crack and worked out :3

My coffee mug has a crack on both sides. Is it fixable? If so, how would I go about repairing it?
I got this cup on a trip to Japan a few years ago, and I’d really rather not part with it if it can be repaired.

Hi the last I did pottery was in college and now that I live in an apartment, I was hoping to get back into it since I was gifted clay recently. I heard that the dust is unsafe to breathe so I was wondering if it is totally not recommended or if I should get an air purifier? I also saw videos where people try to be careful and clean their area with a wet sponge, but they didn't seem to know what they were doing and I've seen youtubers do stuff like resin in a non-ventilated area without a mask etc.

What is your recipe or soap solution that you buy to put in your mop bucket when you are washing your floors? I use a regular rope mop, which I take to the laundromat and have extra heads for. Each time I go to mop I feel like I’m just relocating the dust and creating thick streaks.

Been messing about with my underglazes as I have some watercolour design plans. Needed a test to see how much water to add to the underglazes to get what I wanted so knocked out a little bowl and I'm rather taken by what came out of me testing!
I was going to just clear gloss on top but now I'm wondering whether it needs a matte clear instead. I didn't expect to like the test so much!
It's white engobe with watered down Fundamentals, black engobe on the outside. Fundamentals applied using droppers.

I’m pretty new to all of this so would love any advice on firing, glaze or anything etc. It’s an important gift so I’m really hopeful it will come out ok 🥺
Also I need to figure out what to do with the center. Should I make a little lid for it? Or any other ideas?

Hi everyone,
I am an independent ceramicist based in Kurdistan. All of my work is hand-built/wheel-thrown and individually hand-painted with underglaze/overglaze decorative motifs (woodland scenes, deer, botanical details on aged ivory earthenware/stoneware).
am preparing my first small batch of 20–30 finished pieces to send to my niece in the UK to begin selling there. For those familiar with the UK pottery market, independent craft fairs, or Etsy UK:
Realistic pricing: What would a fair, realistic retail price be for:
The handled urn vase 35-40cm
The ceramic table lamp base with brass fittings 40-50cm
UK Market Fit: Does this traditional, illustrative English country / rustic Cotswolds style resonate well with UK interior buyers right now?
Logistics/Assembly: For potters selling lamps in the UK, do you recommend shipping wired with UK Type-G plugs, or selling the ceramic base alone with pre-drilled holes for buyers/stockists to fit their own standard B22/E27 kits?
Would really appreciate honest feedback from UK ceramicists, sellers, or collectors on what to adjust before sending the first batch over. Thank you!

Hey all!
Long time lurker etc.
After my kiln crapped out on a glaze fire, i had to replace all my elements. Turns out i hate pinning elements, btw!
I've attached my schedule here and the 06/05/04 (mini) cones i had. The 04 is quite old and has lived through three unheated canadian winters in the garage, so may be bad. Larger cones are brand new.
Should i do a cone offset here? Looks to me like I'm overfiring by a fair bit.
Thanks!
