The negotiations were short

I was AFK at my desk for a minute while I was doing something, sitting in the shower room of a barracks at Tisy. The server was really dead at the moment and there were only 3 other players on it at the time. I'm sitting there and all of a sudden I hear somebody running around outside, and my stomach just drops through the floor. I go prone waiting for the guy hoping he'll just pass but nope *creeeak* - and I hear him run right by the door all the way down to the other end and start looting stuff. A minute passes and I hear him coming back so I get ready. Guy opens the door, I panic and he instantly gets completely magdumped by an AK and lets out the most bloodcurdling scream I've ever heard in my life. I realize he's not dead and I actually felt guilty because he didn't even have a gun out when he walked in, so instead of finishing him off I handcuff him and start taking his guns off to remove the mags to give me those few extra seconds to run away before he shoots me in the back.

Except when his character wakes up he just... doesn't do anything. Doesn't move, doesn't try to break out of the cuffs, doesn't even look around, nothing. I'm in the middle of saying "Sorry bro you scared the shit out of me I'm not gonna kill you I'm just not gonna have you shoot me in the back haha" blah blah blah when I realize how... dead his character is. I kept trying to talk to him but he didn't say anything. I stood there for what must've been like 2 minutes straight just trying to get a response out of him because I honest to God started to get worried that I literally gave this guy a heart attack or something. And I'm standing there, and standing there, and standing there, and still zero signs of life whatsoever. I was kind of in shock at that point so I just left an extra lockpick for him and locked the door behind me as I left for whenever he came back.

I realize that it was almost certainly nothing, but this shit actually has my stomach in knots thinking about the possibility that I actually just gave somebody a fucking heart attack or something. It was just so weird for someone to get the most insane jumpscare of their life and scream like they were getting axe murdered irl and then go totally radio silent for minutes on end despite their character still being very much alive. But like wtf can I do, call 911 and say "hi I think I just gave someone an irl heart attack on a game, here's 3 steam profiles he's one of them good luck"? Fuck me.

Now that I’m 2,700+ hours into DayZ, I can’t help but feel like I die to other players far more often than I did when I was a beginner.

I wonder if it has something to do with how I used to play: venturing into seldom-visited areas, growing paranoid at the slightest suspicion, moving slower and with greater caution and carrying a much deeper fear of death than I do now.

When I was a beginner I feel like I used to be able to log into the same character for an entire week, now it’s hardly a few days.

I’m curious whether anyone else has experienced the same thing. Do you feel like you survived for much longer when you were new to the game, before you had hundreds or thousands of hours under your belt?

Right before this, another hacker punched me out uncon so fast I thought I was getting hit by the flash. The hackers on vanilla are absolutely out of hand. Something needs to be done to fix this, I actually enjoy Vanilla but the amount of hackers i’ve died to or run into is ruining the experience for me.

Too 2 hours to find each other then this happens.

I was playing the new map and dayz in general perfectly fine since badlands release but ever since Sunday / Monday I cannot play.

- freeze / crash every map 5-10 minutes in or 5/10 minutes in the queue

- I’ve tried everything from cleaning, lowering settings, verifying files, unsubscribing from workshop mods / reinstalling the game / files.

- everything on my pc runs fine I’ve never had this issue in the last few years playing the game

- I’ve tried different servers like official / community and different communities, some of the different ones don’t even let me load in I just end up going straight to the desktop

I’m out of idea I literally cannot play the game and it makes no sense to me, I don’t know if I should keep trouble shooting or wait 3 weeks for whenever the devs decide to give a fuck and roll out the patch that’ll fix crashing but break 5 more other things in the game :)

Do we think the map is good, be honest.

Personally i think its a good way to add some action at gaz zones, but for example at semi low populated vanilla and official servers (20-30 people) it imo makes it pretty much useless to go loot further than tisy and other tier 3 military locations when you can get a full nbc set effortlessly possibly even before reaching the NW airfield on chernarus

The constant rain, the shivering and sneezing, dark foreboding skies, the mournful mooing of a distant cow. At least you can easily find a sharpening stone on that map.

Hi all!

Me and my buddy have encountered this issue where swapping items causes the swapped item to drop to the ground instead of going back to where it was. This happens with all sorts of items, e.g. guns on your back. I don't think it was like this before the last updates? It is pretty frustrating to say the least. I think it's happening on multiple servers as well. Has anybody else encountered this? I tried to google but couldn't find any swapping mechanism changes?

My first time teaming up with someone in Nasdara, good ol’ John and I (Bones) were having a good run. We were looting a military and got attacked by dogs. As I’m cutting one for its food I hear him get shotgunned right next to me inside a small shack. I asked the player why he killed my buddy and his response was “because I’m a beast” well you’re not, and I dookied on you with a single shot CR-527. Thanks for the loot. You did not die in vain John. GG

This is infuriating me. I cannot find an answer. My mic works, it's not a hardware issue. In dayz the mic icon is there, set to 3 bars, but no one can hear me. Yes, my mics works in any other game. Yes, i've tried voice activation or push to talk or leaving it on altogether. I've tried about everything, changed every setting, it seems like the game is just broken for me. My mic will work on the experimental build of dayz as well. it'll seem like it'll work occasionally, as I had one run where it was working, then the next day it's broken again. Its been like this for 2 months, i was hoping 1.30 would somehow fix this but no. Im fucking raging

I have a pretty low end pc with a 1650 i3 9100f and 16gb ram ive been playing rearmed but it's so bad I get like 40 fps and 30 in military areas i really need some help with settings to see if I can maybe improve fps

As the title asks, where are you finding GPS and batteries for it on Nasdara? Is there an equivalent to the hunter stands on this map?

I was never in to Shotguns in general ( that was definitely skill problem ) I was behind this guy for at least 50 min behind his steps, dropped loot and finally as I hired 2 two shots i managed to trace his location

I bought badlands and have been playing it since Thursday. Today i tried to get on it, and it says i don't own it. Wtf? How do i go about this? Im on xbox

I left a server after having just finished looting in spawn, with decent tier 1 gear. However when I rejoined the server I was deep into the map with completely different gear. Military clothing, gun, and a working armored car near me. I found nothing on the internet about this glitch and it's really confusing to me. Even though it's nice to have great gear, it makes me feel like I've lost all my progress, because I didn't work for this. Does anyone know why this might have happened?
