Doesn't take much skill, I know. Still thought it was crazy, timing and luck wise. Was there for one minute when this happened. Recorded on Spaggies Vanilla

Just got random RemindMe bot notification after a 10 year timer 😄

Not quite sure myself about this. Its certainly not all we hoped for 10 years ago but its still my favorite game despite all the problems and the only one I keep coming back to all these years.

Discussion Nasdara- Nobody asked but

Been playing on console for years and I’ve seen a fair amount of feedback regarding Nasdara, thought I would offer my opinion that no one asked for.

I think they cooked-hard af. Sure, a couple things not working properly like Heli’s or convoys not spawning loot correctly or loot spawning in the sky or underground. I gotta give it to them though, the flow is incredible. Seems more people head south to the higher tier locations than other maps. I have seen a fair amount of freshy stalkers though. As a whole experience, I didn’t think I could enjoy Dayz more than I did, yes the survival is difficult but if you find a water truck and have a few bottles, run in the shade, you will be fine. It’s nice not having to run through huge expanses of nothing. Also feels like it’s fairly easy to get loot, not in the sense that it’s COD easy but even if a town has been ravaged by people there’s still useful stuff to find.

I’d give it a 10/10 for a Dayz experience. Not perfect, lots of jank but the jank doesn’t feel annoyingly game breaking other than crashing occasionally. Love you DayZ team 🫶

Personally I would probably be living in Gorka because of the hospital and police station nearby and because everything is in a small town.

It's pretty easy to build a little refuge where you can store your stuff. You don't even need a car anymore.

discussion Nasdara - matter of insulation

Guys,

what is your go to clothing considering inventory slots/insulation/level of water absorbtion?

I prefer OBR jacket as it has enough slots and can get drenched. Sadly OBR pants are medium insulation, but again can be drenched and have enough slots.

For backpacks and balistic protection, stab vest is medium insulation and can get soaked which is great. But press vest is high insulation/wet and so is plate carrier. I'm mostly going with stab vest here as I hate the added weight and insulation of the others. Just wish we got different colour variant more suited for desert.

Backpacks, well anything big is high insulation + mountain / tactical backpacks are even best insulation. Seems to me that either assault 36 slot medium ins/soaked or drybag 42 slots medium ins/damp are viable choices. Heck improvised courier backpack is 35 slots low ins/drenched so perhaps that one is a very good choice too.

Gloves, I've seen people running with NBC gloves as they are low insulation but can get only to damp. Durability 120 is nice though. Tactical gloves have medium insulation but can get soaked and have durability of 150. So I reckon those could be viable as well.

And as for boots, running shoes are low ins / can get drenched and have 100 durability. I'd say these are a solid choice for Nasdara since all combat boots have high or best insulation and are thus completely unusable for desert heat. btw seems to me devs forgot to add new combat desert boots with say low insulation, 150 durability, that could get perhaps up to wet?

Head and face slots are quite easy I'd say. You either take some low insulation ballistic helmet or that new T65 helmet. Those go up only to damp status though, so that's a thing to consider. I usually rock a turban or headgear made out of that new Keffiyeh scarf.

For face again this new Keffiyeh scarf is my go to. Ideally matching the colour of the one used as a hat, for maximum drip and aura farming.

Last but not least...since damaged clothing and gear loses its insulation level I guess having say damaged big backpack that was formerly high insulation would make it medium insulation? Same would go for clothing, gloves and boots.

Hm could this lead to new meta for Badlands where folks would be running around with damaged clothing & equipment?

discussion Deathtrap bunker behind the dam. (Nasdara)

Started my first Nasdara playthrough and was thoroughly enjoying it until I stumbled across the bunker in the far north west of the map past the dam. Theres a room in there that is just impossible to get out of. I tried over and over to climb out via throwing my backpack on the ground but it just doesnt seem like you can climb the railing. Pretty fuckin annoying way to die after such a fun life.

Discussion The square water wells on Nasdara.

• Upvotes

Has anyone else seen the 2 square water wells next to each other in the town Darvazeh-e Gharb?

It's on the north west side of the map on pretty tall hill. If you open the paper map it shows 2 almost spouting water symbols on the map right there and you can walk to them and find them.

has anyone been able to turn them on?

Nothing of interest there, nor does any Loot spawn there. But a cool little bit of environmental storytelling and the fuselage makes a nice little refuge from that Harsh Sunlight when traversing the Dune Sea on foot.

discussion The even newer scar(scr16)

Thoughts?

It feels like an ak101 that takes nato attachments instead. Personally I love it, I think it is better than the scr17. The fact it takes a real suppressor is my favourite part. I’m not sure how much damage it does but it feels like it’s possibly more than the m4 or atleast equal.

discussion New base building kinda pointless

• Upvotes

Although it’s nice that you can create doors, windows and repair walls, this is only one layer of protection. Most of the buildings are too small to build any further gates inside so there is literally 1 later between them and your loot. On the old system, you could fit like 10 gates inside the beige double storey and you would still be raided easily. These new walls are not much stronger, it just seems pointless making use of this mechanic on official. These walls need to be like 10x the health of a normal fence to make them even worth considering. How did bohemia not think this was going to be an issue? It basically only worth it if you are playing on a community server with base damage turned off or with raid timers.

Guess we’ll just need to stick to putting loot into trees and rocks to keep it safe…. They’ve pretty much just wasted dev time on this mechanic that should have been spent on exploit and bug fixes. All we really needed was a resizable fence kit where you can change the length and height of it and that would let you secure any building.

Discussion Heatstroke cure

I’m in late stage heat stroke (my water drops a lot and if I eat n drink too much I vomit) how do I get rid of it, I was playing for 20 min at night so my tempature and water were both white yet it still hasn’t disappeared, how do you guys cure it? The last time I got it I F11d cuz it was so annoying and it wouldn’t go away

Seen lots of posts about people saying how hard it is to stay cool. It’s easy af. Water trucks were bountiful, found 4 different ones and lots of food everywhere too. It’s a blast. Played for the first time with a friend for about 6 hours. We hunted a few people and hit up heli crashes. Sick map.
