Base building makes the game worse overall(especially on console with dupers). Blocking off entire areas or water spots is awful. That on top of the fact that so much of the time, the people with bases spend 90% of their time in their base sniping from windows which is just dumb. It isn't really fun when a 5 man squad with M4's builds a mega base in a huge loot area, and you kind of just have to avoid the entire area until their base is gone since as a solo you cant do anything. Also sucks when all the cars and motorcycles are gobbled up and hoarded in bases to never be used by anyone instead of being out on the map being found and used.

I could honestly go on and on with reasons as to why base building in dayz is stupid, but the point is that base building overall hurts the game so much more then it helps it.

I'm getting the feeling Nasdara is just straight up too hard for most players.

There's literally zero player interaction anymore, everyone is just KOSing. Even in spawn towns, even if I'm talking first.

They all are desperate for my soda can, I guess..

What do you think? Is the game actually that hard for players now? Took me one day of playing to get a hang of it, I literally didn't die of dehydration a single time..

Seen lots of posts about people saying how hard it is to stay cool. It’s easy af. Water trucks were bountiful, found 4 different ones and lots of food everywhere too. It’s a blast. Played for the first time with a friend for about 6 hours. We hunted a few people and hit up heli crashes. Sick map.

Although it’s nice that you can create doors, windows and repair walls, this is only one layer of protection. Most of the buildings are too small to build any further gates inside so there is literally 1 later between them and your loot. On the old system, you could fit like 10 gates inside the beige double storey and you would still be raided easily. These new walls are not much stronger, it just seems pointless making use of this mechanic on official. These walls need to be like 10x the health of a normal fence to make them even worth considering. How did bohemia not think this was going to be an issue? It basically only worth it if you are playing on a community server with base damage turned off or with raid timers.

Guess we’ll just need to stick to putting loot into trees and rocks to keep it safe…. They’ve pretty much just wasted dev time on this mechanic that should have been spent on exploit and bug fixes. All we really needed was a resizable fence kit where you can change the length and height of it and that would let you secure any building.

Anyone down voting this, don’t come moaning when your 1 wall base gets turned into dust and all that’s left in your loot room is a few empty crates 🙄

This has to be the easiest exploit to fix and they have still done nothing about it, not even mentioned on the known issues. It’s literally been in the game for so long it is a meta mechanic most teams use as it removes all buildings letting you see any players and bases in any area of the map. This needs to be a top priority to fix rather than wasting time on things like a pointless base building system that modders have already done better. Just fix it bohemia for the love of god… speaking of god, get god mode patched as-well please.

Launching form steam. Game loads up find but when I go to join a server this is what I get. I don’t understand because a few months back this game ran fine. I did the whole run around with files and stuff and eventually just uninstalled and downloaded it back but I’m still stuck. Why is being new to pc so hard lol. Also internet is fine it says that everytime and then will say failed to launch game…

So apparently infected got new animations and attack variation, which is good. But...now it looks like the infected are swinging an axe at you except they're not holding an axe. This is a missed opportunity because the infected attack animations have always looked bad, and they still look bad. Their animators should go back and redo the animations to not look this ugly. They can watch 28 Years Later as a reference. Because the current animations look like they're from an N64 game.

Hey! I've been looking to play DayZ without any player on map for a chill experience so I could discover the map on my own with nothing else than just the zombie and the bears to care about. I've tried a lot of tutorial on youtube but none of them really worked for me. If someone have any tutorial that worked for them, could you please send it to me ? I want skateboards in Dayz. Cruising the road sipping a soda or spraying bullets. Then I can just put it in my pack and head into the woods. I think it solves some of the monotonous travel without breaking the game.

I'm here babysitting my character with 4 bottles of water washing my self and slowly drinking and the symptoms just wont go away. I want to play the game man!

I'm sure most people know what I'm talking about. On Nasdara, dead infected don't despawn the way they should. They last way longer even with no players around, sometimes only diapering when the server restarts.

Obviously this has a huge impact on gameplay because it completely removes the ability to stalk and follow players consistently.

Would you like to see an actual change in that direction?

For me personally is a definite no.

I'm glad this is only a bug and supposedly a somewhat quick fix.

I'm finding that the only really irritating part of trying to wear only worst insulation clothing is that the large backpacks have high and best insulation.

I don't want a sweaty back in this heat, I'll tell you that for free.

Wearing a badly damaged combat backpack makes it a low insulation item.

My method does mean that you are more likely to have to swap out gear but tbh there's so much of it lying all about the place that it's not been a problem for me in 40 hours of play time on Nasdara.

I shot up my fish tail jacket to make it worse insulation too.

I left a backpack full of loot on the ground for 5 minutes while I hit a water pump and it despawned 100% was not taken by another player
