Finished Object Just finished a sweater for my birthday

It’s the first sweater I’ve ever finished (as someone who learned to crochet when they were 5) so I’m exceptionally happy about it. Ends are even weaved in and everything. I started it in early September and probably could've finished it in 7 consecutive days of work, but of course that hardly ever happens.

This is actually intended to be a sample for a design I’m working out (I make my samples in a more affordable yarn before moving up), but the finished piece feels good enough to wear on it‘s own, which I already have done.

General features: loose fit, but not quite an oversized body, balloon sleeves, a high neck, and wrist cuffs that will stay above my hand; mostly ”seamless”, with the most distinguishable join being along the undersides of the sleeves.

My gift to myself this year was execution, follow through, and fulfilment, and I love having a wearable expression of this.

Finished Object My fall bag is FINALLY FINISHED!!!

It has been SO much fun making this bag! I had to drop the project for a while because I didn't know what to do for the handles. I decided to lean into the stretch of the yarn itself and it was SUCH a good idea! It's gorgeous, it's comfortable and fits everything I need in there! I just wanted to share cause I posted my WIP last time :)

Also yes- that is a real acorn cap on the tassle!

I crocheted a jester outfit for the Renaissance Festival and added teeth accessories :)

Jester Hat Pattern: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1803912003/crochet-jester-set-pdf-pattern?ref=share\\_ios\\_native\\_control

(I did freehand the teeth for the hat)

Ruffle Shrug Pattern: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1685872643/crochet-shrug-pattern?ref=share\\_ios\\_native\\_control

(I made the small teeth out of foam clay and then just tied them on a string to the top)

Ruffle Shorts Pattern: https://youtu.be/IPVDGEJJW4s?is=qLkwrHTWKFU4-Bb9

Jester Stuffie: Molar was made for me by a friend so I’m not sure the exact pattern :)

I posted this in another sub too in case anyone sees double!

Finished Object shirt for phoebe bridgers' the lost tour🛸

didn't time it, but i estimate this took about 40-45 hours from designing to completion. never thought i'd be saying "phoebe bridgers touched this shirt!" but here we are🛸

really really happy with how this turned out. it's got some weight but it's obviously quite breathable. super comfy and fits perfect.

specs: base - weight 3 acrylic/cotton with 3mm hook, [ldc, ch1] filet method. back panel: crochet thread, 1.5 mm hook. worked the letters with bobbins. did a ton of bullshit trial and error for making sure the letters looked good and utilized methods that i personally find insane, and i came up with them organically. very unofficial business happening back there. used sharpie to touch up messy bits if that tells you anything. made the thread panel first then built the base back panel around it. steam blocked!

This was my first time making a scarf with superwash merino wool (Malabrigo) and an open, lacy pattern (it was a gift for my mom!). I decided not to be lazy and actually blocked it per the instructions and WOW!! The stitches opened up SO much and looks completely different, so much better and gives it that lacy effect! I'm amazed :D

I didn't realize how long this would take me, but it is finally done! It wasn't in time for the Engagement Party but luckily, the invitation said "no gifts." I received the invitation AFTER beginning the project and the groom knew I started it before the party was planned.

I just hand washed it and am waiting for it to dry to give it to the happy couple.

Finished Object First time getting stopped

I was waiting in line in the store the other day, when someone suddenly stopped in their tracks in front of me, and looking almost surprised, just kind of stared at me for a moment. 😂 I was a little nervous not knowing what was happening, but then she smiled and said “oh my gosh, I LOVE your cardigan!” 😅 I’ve NEVER had anyone stop like that about something I made, and after a couple really stressful weeks, that kind woman really made my month, LOL. 🥹

Edited to add: I saw a similar one on instagram, then found a YouTube tutorial: https://youtu.be/NvcS55s7_So?is=sW0fYzJ-ye6f8XfQ

I primarily used Premier Yarns Chunky basix yarn, along with their Eyelash yarn and some fancy artisanal yarn ( https://a.co/d/0dtrVSRt )I had on hand.
