I'm asking for opinions and feedback on the idea of a single megathread for selling parts and trucks. There would be a required format, including price, application, and location. No "feeler" or "what's it worth" posts. Post deletion after sale would be mandatory, and possibly anything older than a few months subject to mod deletion to keep the thread relevant.

Effective immediately, User Flair is required to post OR comment in Classic Trucks. This is done in an effort to reduce the number of bots posting.
From the main sub feed hit the three dots in the upper right corner. Select 'Edit Flair' from the pop-up menu. Pick one or create your own.
Minimum account age and karma rules have been added as well. Your account must be 3 months old with a minimum of 200 karma to post.
EDIT:
For some reason that I do not understand yet the auto-mod was removing comments from users that had enabled user flair. So until I can figure that out, flair will not be required for you to comment on a post.
User Flair will still be required to submit a post. That seems to be working properly.

Finally got around to switching from my iffy chrysler ignition module to an hei runs a lot smoother and starts quicker. I also got around to wiring my lights onto a relay instead of just the switch and installed a VSR to connect my 2 charging systems when needed. I got the rest of my parts for my big block swap but im recovering from a hernia and gettin my gallbladder taken out but progress is progress. π

This is my 1953 3100 Ice Cream Truck. It has been selling Ice Cream since being purchased new in 1953 by my Grandfather. It is still a work truck and stills has kids chasing it.
Taking Guesses on what the appraisal comes back at (Insurance reasons) due to the historical significance / prominence. It's an original Amerio built truck (have the receipt) and has local area prominence as there's a monument with my Grandfather and the truck when he hit the 50 year mark at the state perk selling Ice Cream.

My father is looking to sell his GMC C2500, I don't really know anything about classic trucks so I'm helping him do some research so he give an accurate sale price to potential buyers. We're not selling yet, I'm just helping lay the groundwork.
I start it once a week just to make sure it's still running. I have more pictures of it from different angles and inside the cab and engine, and I can provide those if needed. I tried to attach two more photos of the cab and engine but Reddit wouldn't let me for some reason.
Here is a feature list:
Based on the description, images, and features, can anyone help me estimate what it might be worth?
EDIT: I forgot to include the mileage, and my father clarified something for me. Apparently he changed the transmission about 3 years ago, and in the process caused some kind of electrical short so both the speedometer and the tachometer to not work, and the mileage is not accurate. The number on the dashboard is 30,640, but my father said that he's driven the truck sparingly since it stopped working, so that should be about 2,000 miles higher. But I can't say for sure what the exact mileage is.
Here's an image of the speedometer with the mileage: https://imgur.com/a/G1hpryr

My cousin bought a 1972 Ford F-100 and noticed fluid coming out of the rear driver side axle. We both have limited knowledge working on vehicles but this is a project for him and he wants to learn some things for himself. We pulled out the axle shaft and removed the axle seal. To my untrained eye it looks like that wheel bearing is shot and needs to be replaced. My question is, what is the best way to find the correct part number, and what is the best way to replace that bearing. He mentioned cutting the old one off and buying a press to put the new one on. The rear axle is the ford 9 inch if we are not mistaken. Thanks for the help in advance, I know I might sound stupid asking this

I recently picked up this 1979 GMC Sierra Grande 2500 long bed, and Iβm pretty excited to get home and start working on it. Iβm currently deployed overseas, so Iβve got plenty of time to plan out what I want to do with it before I can get my hands on it.
It currently has a running small-block 350 SBC paired with an SM465 manual transmission. My original thought was to rebuild the 350 and swap in a different transmission, but I recently came across a pretty good deal on a big-block 454 BBC paired with a TH400, including the headers, exhaust, and other drivetrain components.
Now Iβm seriously considering going the 454 route instead. π Thereβs just something about having a big olβ 454 under the hood of a square-body C2500 that I love.
The plan is to eventually do a full restoration, including media blasting, cleaning up the frame, and repainting it in its original factory color. I want to keep the truck looking mostly OEM while building a solid drivetrain that I can enjoy for years.
For those of you who have done a 454 swap into a 1973β1987 C2500, is it worth going with the big-block and TH400? Anything I should look out for before pulling the trigger? Iβd love to hear your experiences and recommendations!
Canβt wait to get back home and start this project. π€
