How do you deal with male friends who turn competitive or toxic when the opposite gender is around?
I'm gonna generalize and give some anecdotal experiences in the first paragraph, but please bear with me.
I'm specifically talking about friends who start mocking or shooting shots at others when there's someone they find attractive at the table whom (correct grammar? idk) they are trying to impress by putting others down with off-hand comments. The type of people who suddenly have a second face, especially when alcohol and drugs get involved. Those who don't care about you the second an attractive woman is around but are good friends outside of those situations.
I'm asking because I have been in these situations a few times now and I never know how to handle it correctly when it's happening. I feel like I get defensive and awkward because of this behaviour and it mostly just ruins my night when it happens. I'm not the most confident person myself despite actively working on my confidence for a better part of a decade.
I don't want to start a fight or argument and cause a scene while it's happening, I think that could backfire massively and make me look like an asshole. So far what I've tried is confronting them at some later point and just not hanging out with these people at parties.
The reason I ask is because I would like to sustain my cool during these situations because I can't go about my life avoiding them at all times. I don't want to cut off everyone around me because they have some toxic traits. I'm interested in hearing your opinions, experiences on this.

Weird Question Men, when you eat a meal, do you like to have a beer or wine with your food, or do you prefer a non-alcoholic drink like Coke, tea, or water?
I have to have a tea or a Coke. I do not know why, but if I eat a meal with a beer or any alcoholic drink, the food just does not taste good to me. How about you?

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 What moment defined the transition from boyhood to manhood for you?
I think that most of us have a moment or two that we think of as marking the end of our boyhood and the start of our manhood.
Mine is surviving a shooting when I was 21, I felt like that marked the end of my childish concerns and the start of real-life adult responsibilities.
Most men I’ve asked also mark a difficult or traumatic event as their big moment of transition, but I’m especially interested in hearing about wholesome or happy moments that marked the start of manhood.

How does one love himself?
I'm a man in his late twenties struggling with confidence and self criticism. The women around me seem to be really good at loving themselves. I wonder if it is a biological thing or do they hold some secrets about self love. How do I learn to look at myself in the mirror and begin loving myself?

What amount of age difference is weird to you?
Hi there, my 56 year old father started dating someone who is 34. I am about to turn 31 in like three days. He wanted me to meet her on my birthday when he comes to visit, and told me like two days ago.
I have never known my dad to be with anyone other than my mom, let alone someone my age. I am still processing this. How weird is this? I know they’re both consenting adults, but wtf?

How to plan for a lost future?
I'll try to be concise.
I'm a man and i've lived in solitude up until i was thirty-two. I didn't have any plans for the future then, and knew my life would eventually end from my own hands, it was a matter of when. My mother is still alive, so that will stop me from doing it, of course.
At thirty-two i met a woman, and we got married. She was different, like myself - or so i thought -, we had similar morals, similar views, values. We dated, we got married.
She got tired of me, changed her mind and wanted an adventurous life. She invented i was a really bad person and did many bad things to her, and just said we needed to divorce.
For four years i had done many plans, and did many things too. I knew where we would live eventually, places we would visit, where to hike, everything.
Now she doesn't want it anymore, so all those plans are gone, and i'm back to exactly where i was before, but now being thirty-six.
It's one thing to not think much of the future and have no plans when you've lived like that your whole life, it's a bit different when you lived for four years foreseeing a beautiful future, with great plans.
Some might think 'you'll find another woman', but for thirty-two i had never found one. Not because i'm better than anyone, but just because i'm not fit for what the world is, i had just accepted it. Somehow, though, now my brain does not have the capacity to simply accept that, maybe it was the taste of happiness that i had for those few years.
I would like some advice, please.
Thank you.

Older sister to a cool little bro here. We were tight as kids, but boy is he hard to get a hold of now that he's 25 and living with his girlfriend.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 Men who used to doomscroll for 4+ hours a day and stopped. How did you do it?
When people get off their socials and stay away obviously replace it with something. Im just curious what you used to replace it with. Wether it be books, tv, walking, outdoors, hobbies etc. It seems like a very large chunk of your day you have to fill and the habit of opening your phone must be rough also.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How can I make myself not pop when she uses key words?
So for context my gf and I are both 30 year olds and I think our sex life is good. So whenever we have sex we do foreplay and I always want to get her off by going down on her before I have mine but she pushes me away and wants me to put it in. Now lasting awhile isn’t the problem it’s when she’s about to finish and she starts saying “I’m about to cum” or says “harder” that’s when I lose it and bust myself. What can I do to stop myself from finishing before she does when I hear these words?

What’s a life lesson you learned the hard way?
I used to think being a good person meant always being there for everyone.
Then I realized some people only remember you when they need something.
Now I still try to be a good person, but I’ve learned that not everyone deserves the same access to me.
What’s a lesson life taught you that you’ll never forget? 💭

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How much does music really mean to you?
Spotify wrapped is coming out soon. I'm curious about how different people really feel about music.
I have a friend who listens to daylists. He's saved about 8 of them and they are all +50 songs that are the almost the opposite of his usual tastes (folk and acoustic).
The daylists are more German house music and UK trip-hop. i think that's cool because he loves music so much that everything is on the table for him to try.
Do you love specific genres and musicians so you don't try anything new as often?
Do you listen to anything more than once?
When someone recommends a song to you, do you listen to it because you trust their suggestion?

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 For men who want a serious relationship, how do you approach dating someone who already has children?
I've been thinking about how much our life circumstances influence whom we choose as a long-term partner, and I'd be interested in hearing men's perspectives.
For those of you who are single and looking for a serious relationship, how do you think about dating someone who already has a child?
I'm curious about the things that might not be immediately obvious:
* How much do practical considerations, such as time, spontaneity, and parenting schedules, influence your decision?
* What are your thoughts about eventually becoming part of a child's life, even if you're not their parent?
* How do you think about the relationship between a new partner, their child, and the child's other parent?
* Are there aspects of this situation that you think people tend to underestimate, either positively or negatively?
* For those who have experienced it firsthand, was it different from what you expected?
I'm interested in hearing different perspectives, including the challenges people anticipate and the positive aspects they might see. I'm especially curious about how men's views change with age, life experience, and whether they have children of their own.

Weird Question What are some head-scratching things you've encountered in public bathrooms? I'm curious if men are as filthy and/or as crazy germophobic as the myriad women I've encountered in the ladies.
I'm 61F so I've seen a lot of stuff in my life. Here's the gist:
Numerous women walking straight out without even glancing at the sink.
Unhinged psychos screaming at their kids "Don't touch anything!!" Way to turn your child into a neurotic OCD germophobe (I have actual OCD, although not germ-related)
Crouching on or hovering over the toilet because OMG germs! Then leaving their pee/poop/blood and/or footprints all over the seat and floor for the next person.
Actually sitting on the toilet. Then leaving their pee/poop/blood all over the seat and floor for the next person.
Covering the OMG germy toilet with lashings of toilet paper or paper covers (which is fine, whatever floats your boat). Then leaving it all there, and all over the floor, for the next person.
Refusing to flush the toilet because OMG germy! Thus leaving it all there for the next person.
Throwing paper towels or anything else into the bin is apparently optional.
Believe it or not, I've sat on thousands of public toilet seats during my life and yep, haven't "caught" anything. I just wipe the seat with toilet paper, sit down, and all is fine. What's the big deal?
It's also puzzling that some of the same women who freak out about germs in public toilets are also having unprotected casual sex without batting an eye. What's up with that? I don't get it.
How are things in the boys' room? Enquiring minds want to know.
