Weird Question What do you think about my dating experiment?

• Upvotes

My intuition is that women prefer men who just broke up.

It's like they have a massive Ick if they know you have been single for long. Like something deep in them tell them: this guy is suspicious. He looks good/fine, but why single so long?

I've been single 2 years, but I'll start saying I broke up last month. Have been in some ons and dates but not something serious.

What do you think?

What to put inside a care package for my stressed out boyfriend?

My (28F) boyfriend (28M) has been extremely stressed out in almost every aspect of his life (work and personal) over the past few weeks and I’d love to make him a little package to drop off to his workplace on Wednesday lunchtime.

He’s been struggling to sleep and is feeling pressure mounting on him.

So far I’m thinking of a “positive potato” plushie, his favourite chocolate and a handwritten note.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. What would you like to get in a little care package?

How do I accept myself for who I am?

Unfortunately my body isn't very masculine. Im 160 cm tall, no body hair, ridiculously tiny hands and feet. I am also Asian. Sometimes my own mom would wear my own shoes and fit in them just fine and she's only like an inch shorter than me.

Literally everybody towers over me and I look like a child still despite being in my 20s. I even thought about going transgender in hopes of looking more human since its more socially acceptable to be a tiny woman but i decided against it because it would get me disowned by my family. I pretended to be a girl online for a bit and people actually treated me better.

I do go to the gym and got more muscle but I can't make my tiny bones bigger.

How do I human? How have you guys started again in romance?

34M Looking to get back out there again, and got some questions.

Where have you found the most success in making connections, even if they don't pan out?

Are there gents here who have put off dating a while, say a few years, how did you get back into the swing of dating? Any pointers or knowledge before going back to it?

How do you bridge hard conversations with someone you just met but feel for? Be it asking for more, or asking for an end?

How do you determine if it's a good fit or if it's just fawning at an attractive woman who mentions sex? (I assume I'm going to be stupid when offered any chance of sex, being quiet on that front for a few years)...

Idk, any advice for an overly anxious fool?

How can I quickly/massively improve my leadership skills?

I would like to develop some leadership skills to step up my game within my family/social life.

I am in therapy, and starting EMDR to help push through some serious emotional shit from my childhood. This shit has left me with a lot of shame, self-doubt and avoidance behaviors. Those behaviors amount to me being pretty disengaged with my wife and kids and just letting life happen around me.

Right now my kids are getting older, and they're having frequent meltdowns and problems where I don't know how to handle them anymore. I get frustrated and start yelling. My wife has become the default parent because she can usually stay calm and seems to know just what to do, obviously this puts extra stress on her that she doesn't need.

Meanwhile the house falling apart, I'm not super handy but I've fixed a lot of things from watching YouTube and figuring it out. But a lot of shit slips through the cracks because it seems too overwhelming and idk why but it's really hard for me to make decisions about what to do first, next, what to just pay someone else to do... Yes I have adhd lol. Yes I'm medicated. But I end up never deciding and letting the problem get worse.

Anyway thanks for reading this far. Please don't give me manosphere advice like lock in, get to the gym, eat protein.

Looking for some practical ways to improve confidence, decisiveness, staying calm when shit goes down, focusing/staying in the moment and not on your own bullshit, like books to read, groups to join, classes to take...

Also success stories. Tell me it's possible. I'm so sick of letting my life go past me and feeling bad about myself.

How do you deal with a selfish, self serving and manipulative mother?

I haven't had a good relationship with my mother. She has stolen money from me over the years which amounts to tens of thousands. Maybe around 60,000. (I was housebound due to mental illness and entrusted her to withdraw money for me and it turned out she was pocketing 95% of the money for herself.) This was years ago and I thankfully live by myself now. She hasn't made any effort to pay me back and still asks me to give her money.

I find it difficult to distance myself from her because I am pretty lonely and don't have anyone in my life. Every time I interact with her, it's never a pleasant experience. She rarely has anything positive to say about me. I've tried to explain why I don't like being around her but she deflects and places the blame onto me.

I'm lost on what to do. It's hurts to leave things on bad terms but I also know it's impossible to create any kind of positive bond with her. Had anyone else gone through a similar thing and can share advice?

Weird Question People who work in adult entertainment production (camera operators, directors, crew), what are the realities of the job?

I’ve seen discussions about various niche jobs, but I'm curious about the operational side of the adult industry. For those working behind the scenes in production or technical roles, what is your day-to-day experience like? How do things like benefits, insurance, and work-life balance actually work in that sector compared to standard commercial video production?

What's your story of that one person everybody likes but you don't and you're proven right in the end?

When I met my cousin's ex-wife and her family for the first time, I knew I didn't like them right away. They came off as fake nice and fake generous. My mother didn't like them either but we were still polite and cordial. Somehow everyone else liked them though.

2yrs into the marriage, my cousin has major business problem, she cheated, her parents helped her get divorced from my cousin, took all the stuff from their home. They're seperated now. My cousin went out with his friend group the other night. Ex-wife saw one of my cousin's single girl friend (part of the friend group) in his IG story the night he hung out with them, called said girl friend and went off at her, accused her for *trying to steal* my cousin away. A freakin nutjob I tell you 😂. When I was told the story, I remember telling my cousin how I never liked her and her family. They fake af and everyone fell for it.

Frequently Asked Have you ever had your heart broken by someone you genuinely loved in your early 20s? And How did you handled it

Hey, have you ever had your heart broken by someone you genuinely loved in your early 20s? How did you deal with it, and how long did it take you to feel like yourself again?

I’m talking about a relationship where you’ve been together for two years or more, built a deep connection, imagined a future together, and genuinely believed things would work out.

Then, one day, they leaves, ghosts you, cheats on you, or things simply don’t work out, and you’re left trying to make sense of what happened.

Maybe it was the first time you’d ever loved someone that deeply. You’re trying to build your career, figure out your life, and become an adult, while also dealing with the loss of someone who was a huge part of your everyday life.

How long does it takes to feel okay again ://

Have you ever been mocked or dismissed by a helpline or support service for being a man?

I once contacted a support hotline during a period when I was experiencing repeated physical, verbal and emotional abuse from a woman I was close to. Things had deteriorated to the point where I was feeling suicidal, and I genuinely needed help.

Instead, I was referred to an abuser intervention programme, with the apparent assumption that I must have done something to provoke the situation.

On another occasion, a woman working on a hotline asked me about my weight and hers. After hearing my answer, she essentially told me, "There's your answer. Now stop wasting our time."

What struck me was how quickly the situation was judged based on physical size, without any meaningful attempt to understand what had actually happened. Currently I am ok.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 How to deal with miscarriages as the father?

My wife and I have recently suffered our 2nd miscarriage is as many positive tests (a few months apart)since we’ve started trying in January of this year. It’s been very tough on the both of us. We’re still a few months away from being qualified for any sort of fertility testing.

My wife has a lot of support in this. Her mother, sisters, best friends, and of course myself. In our first miscarriage my sister in laws fiancés knew so he was there for me as much as he could be. This time around my wife only wanted a select few people to know. She has the support she needs, but I have no one this time around.

I’m really struggling right now but I don’t want to burden my wife with having to support me while she’s hurting so much. Out of respect for her I’m not telling anyone what’s happened, which brings me here.

How do I cope with this myself? I’m hurting so much for myself and my wife.

Edit: Thank you all for commenting and giving advice. Just making this post makes me feel a little better. I will stay strong and help my wife the best way I can.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 What are some Home and Car care things that I should checking at home regularly?

I am trying to be better about having a better idea of things I regularly need to do in order to keep my house and car up.

For background, my wife’s tires on her car were very low. I didn’t realize this and my father-in-law made a comment about it. He regularly would check these things for my wife and the rest of the family. My wife was also missing a lug nut, which my father in law spotted.

What are some things I should be doing or checking around the house or car just so I can make sure that everything is shipshape?

what do you associate with the word "erotic"?

Context:

I (25f) had an argument with my dad (61m). He's well educated and speaks often in a very eloquent manner. I showed him a sports video where the women performing were wearing not much, as it often is in professional sports. I asked him what he thought of their performance and he said "they're impressive, sporty, athletic, strong and erotic".

I told him that I think the word erotic is inappropriate for this context and I'd appreciate it if he chose another word like "attractive" or "beautiful". He said that "erotic" doesn't have a sexual meaning to him to which I replied that he can't just change a words meaning for himself, when it has a widely accepted definition. He said I was wrong and that 8 out of 10 people would agree with him.

So, men of reddit... What does "erotic" mean to you?

edit: yes, I think describing women in sports as erotic is ideologically wrong (especially in front of your daughter, I don't want to know who my dad finds hot and arousing, and I think that in itself would be inappropriate). HOWEVER, I specifically asked him to describe what he means by erotic and what he described was just finding them attractive and not, in any way, being sexually aroused. so then I told him, that other words might be more accurate to describe his thoughts on the performance.

What was your honest experience with PEDs?

Ive been an athlete and into sports my entire life. Ive even faced people who i suspect was on the sauce. Now ive always been natural as im naturally strong. (i was repping 225 at 18). I just want to say that even tho the sauce does work genetics still play a role ive seen. Ive seen dudes take a few cycles, get off and still be strong af. And ive known people actively on it and they look like shi still. Im talking about straight blobs.

So what was youre experience. im in my 30s now so im thinking about atleast doing trt tho i havent lost any physical ability and can still rep 225.
