Weird Question Men who had one of their family members hook them up on a date: What happened and how did it go?

This week I went out of town to see my family. I wasn’t here to look for a girlfriend. But it just kind of happened out of nowhere. I was having a good time with my family and was chatting with two of my cousins (16 and 21 both female) invited me tomorrow to a pool party. They said they were going to introduce me to one of their friends.

They said she already saw a photo of me and she thought I was cute. I saw a photo of her and thought she was pretty cute herself. I’m excited but also kind of nervous. Let’s just say I have little to no dating experience. I just hope the woman I meet has no bad intentions. Nor do I hope my cousins are playing a prank on me.

And yes I made sure she’s an adult as well she’s 20 and I’m 22.

How often do you guys wear a shirt before you toss it in the laundry basket?

For me, if I wear a shirt like... all day or like... twice in two days, then I'll throw it in the laundry basket, but I'm curious how how other people's clothes hygiene habits are.

What's your policy on when something is ready to be tossed in the laundry basket?

I'll wear a pair of pants for like... 1-2 weeks before I toss it personally.

How do I smell good?

Soon coming out of nearly 6 years of hustling, running a business since 2020 and then full renovation on a house since 2024 and now finally done, one thing I have lacked through this last couple of months is self care, I mean I ve had the basics covered but nothing beyond as I didn't have time or energy. So that takes me to the next step, smelling good. What do you guys do to smell good all the time? What scents, perfumes, shampoos ecc do you use? One deodorant I really liked the smell of is Bergamot & Sandalwood Spray Deodorant but unfortunately it does not last long, it dissipated with in an hour or two. I dont like strong scents but at the same time I'd like something that lasts. Any suggestions? I am hoping to find my scent and have it become part of my identity almost. Thanks!

Why Does a Relationship and Sex Feel so Abstract?

For context, I am a 21-year-old male, and I have never been in a relationship and have not had a friendship for almost 2 years now.

I often fantasize about being in a romantic and sexual relationship, but for whatever reason, I struggle to imagine myself being close with someone. I imagine a couple watching a movie together. I can easily imagine other people doing that, but my mind does not do the same for myself and whoever my imaginary person may be. It just feels “off” to see myself in such a situation.

I feel like this might be simply because I have no frame of reference to use my imagination with, but I am not sure.

How did you figure out your career direction when you wanted financial success but had no idea which path to pursue?

I’m 23, and honestly, I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.
I graduated in robotics engineering and have around two years of work experience, but I still don’t know what career path I want to commit to long-term.

I know I want to make a lot of money, build wealth, and hopefully move to the US someday. I’m willing to put in the work and learn new skills, but I don’t know what direction to take or what I should focus on now to give myself the best chance of achieving those goals.

For those of you who’ve been in a similar position, how did you figure things out? Did you follow a particular interest, chase opportunities, prioritise money, or try different things until you found something that worked?

I’d especially like to hear from people who were in their 20s without a clear plan but eventually built successful careers and financially secure lives.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 Weird experience at a clothing store today. What do you think?

I (24M) had a somewhat awkward experience at a clothing store today. I have been thinking about it since, so I thought I'll ask here and see what others think.

I went to buy a shirt and a pair of pants. After selecting them, I wanted to try them on, but the store had only one trial room and someone was already using it. The salesman told me to use the storeroom instead.

He said he would bring the clothes for me. There were no hooks in the storeroom, so he also said he would hold my old clothes while I tried the new ones. At the time, I didn't think much of it.

I went into the room and removed my shirt, expecting to try the new shirt first. But the salesman came in with the pants I selected. He took my old shirt, gave me the pants and asked me to try them on.

So I took off my old pants too and gave them to him. I was now standing there in just my briefs while trying on the new pants, and he was still in the room.

After that, he went out to get the new shirt and came back with it. I put it on and he asked if I liked it. Then he asked me to give him both the shirt and pants back. I had to take them off and stand in my briefs again while he collected them. He went out and then came back with my original clothes so I could get dressed.

What felt weird to me was that he never really gave me any privacy while I was changing. He stayed in the room, made eye contact and chatted with me normally. He didn't turn around or step outside at any point. I also got the feeling that he was looking at my body including my briefs.

I'm a bit confused about this. On one hand, the trial room was occupied, there were no hooks, and maybe he was just trying to help me out. He didn't say anything inappropriate or make any comments about my body. On the other hand, I just don't understand why he needed to stay there and watch me change instead of just turning around or waiting outside.

I felt awkward at the time but didn't say anything. I'm an introvert. So I just went along with it, but afterward I started wondering whether the whole thing was normal.

I'm not saying he definitely had any bad intentions because I don't know what he was thinking. I'm just wondering whether he was being careless about my privacy or whether he might have deliberately taken the opportunity to look at me while I was undressed.

For anyone who's worked in clothing stores or had a similar experience, is this something that happens normally? Would you find this situation weird or am I overthinking?

I'd appreciate honest opinions, even if you think there's a perfectly innocent explanation I haven't considered.

How to act more masculine but still be authentic?

There is a sort of divide between male spheres online and in life where half say to toughen up and be manly and the other say to just be yourself. But how do people bridge that gap? If you have social expectations on manliness you need to uphold for safety or community, how do people stay authentic while still presenting as a "manly" man?

Edit: Emphasis on still being masculine. Please don't say just be yourself. It's great, but please understand not everyone lives in Los Angeles, I come from a conservative culture.

Which one would you give up? Sex, personality compatibilty, fireworks

If you're only able to keep two, and need to give up one, which one would be your choice?

  1. Amazing mind blowing sex 99% of the time

  2. Personality compatibilty, ie: the house is peaceful most of the time

  3. Fireworks or butterflies. The type of relationship that makes you want to say that you are deeply in love

Edit: Personality compatibility does not mean romantic feelings. Just to make it clear.

Weird Question Should have I reacted to their Disrespect or am I overthinking it?

I think we have all gone through an experience where we go shopping and felt we just delt with a rude and unprofessional employee.

We let it go most of the time because unfortunately it’s common and we just don’t want to be bothered, but sometimes we choose violence lol and choose to call out such behavior.

BUT….

Sometimes these situations can be so Subtle and Passive Aggressive that you have to think twice before reacting and my situation was one of them.

I went to a certain Dispensary yesterday that I rarely go because they’re usually overpriced but sometimes run decent deals. when I was going walking to the counter. The cashier asked me simply….”Do you have an Online order?”

This was the first sign of weirdness because if you’re ever in a Dispensary the employees Greet You with high energy.

I replied “Hey how’s it going??….Yea I have an order!”

Gave him my I.D and then he says there is no order showing up.

I said oh ok let me check….I pullout my phone to verify my order and the guy told me I have to move aside so they can help the person behind me.

Mind you that sometimes I have to verify my order on my phone. Usually the employees give me 1 minute to check my phone in other dispensaries.

It seemed this guy from the go wanted me to move because my order didn’t appear immediately.

He told me a 2nd time to step aside and I told him the website seemed to not be processing the order.

I stood there for like another 5 seconds thinking the item was sold out and I was going to miss out on the sale.

Then the employee says “You Heard Me?”

At that point I moved to the side and let the other customer go first. I was panicking at that moment that the item I wanted was sold out.

After about 20 seconds I was able to confirm the order.

Then I realized hey!!!!

Was the Employee being disrespectful when he said “You Heard Me??”….

I then I proceeded to look at the Employee and he happen to look at me and we locked eyes for 3 seconds and he just looked away first and then I looked away.

I thought he was going to ask me “Did that order go through?” or something but he didn’t.

Then another Employee cashier opened up and I went with her to pay. At this point the other Employee i just delt withwith started laughing and talking out loud. Asking the Employee that was helping questions…

We would both turn around to look at the other Employee and he would be looking at me than look away to the other employee.

The Employee that was helping me said “Let me finish helping him first and I got you”

The other Employee replied “Oh yea help him”

I got my things and walked out the place, as I was walking in the parking lot I chuckle and realized that I might have just gone through an “Ego Battle”.

An employee disrespected me….So I then proceeded to “Mean Mug” him for 3 seconds and made him look away and he then wanted to let me know hes not Intimidated or Scared by me so he started acting “Confident” laughing and talking out loud.

What do you think…..Am I overthinking this situation???

Which big cat is number 2 in strength?

Hands down tiger wins at number 1, but who would you say is number 2 in head to head. I'm leaning towards Jaguar over lion. Fierce predators with a stronger bite force and strength. I am wondering if lions being in a heavier combat environment would give them the edge with experience though. Any thoughts on this?

What do yall do with your partner who has a female bestfriend?

What do yall do about your partner if she has a female bestfriend that she basically tells everything about including your arguments, yourself and how you act and everything in between. They chat almost 24/7 over the phone. I almost see my partner acting like her friend, using the same tone of voice and words.

🛑 Answers From Men Only 🛑 Gay men: Why wait until 30s to join sports teams?

You’d think gay sports teams would attract mostly guys in their 20s, but I’ve noticed the core demographic in this group seems to be old guys in their mid 30s. For those that have done Stonewall sports or similar, why did you join later in midlife? Where are all the other 24 year olds building their social lives?

What you find most annoying about other men?

I hate the immaturity and the ribbing. After a certain age, acting like you're 13 years old is not cool. I also wish men stopped trying to be macho all the time because the best guy friends I have are the ones who can hold a conversation and show kindness and humility.

Men are so much better when they are vulnerable. I hug all my male friends.

How do you guys get so many haircuts?

I look around and it seems like some of you guys get a haircut EVERY WEEK or once every TWO WEEKS.

That is just absolutely insane to me.

All lined up, touched up, faded, clean, even, etc.

???

???

Do you guys live like within 5 minutes (walking distance) of a good barbershop or something?

Do you guys get some sort of pleasure from getting a haircut?

What is up with these "haircut guys"?

Does it not suck dick to have to drive down to some barbershop, fucking wait in line, get up there, blah blah blah, cut cut cut, here's $70...ON A SATURDAY??? ON A FRIDAY???

There has to be more dopamine out there than getting a haircut.

It just seems so inconvenient. What is up with all the haircuts, guys? It's just kind of weird, tbh, and I'm a bit hung up on it.
