Made a bolt-on engine bay panel for the MK4 (3L and 5.5L washer tank versions)
Hey all, full disclosure up front: I’m with WCO Market, a small shop in Florida that makes parts for older VWs.
We put together an engine bay panel for the MK4 that covers the washer tank area and cleans up that corner of the bay. The idea came from the panels on the legendary first-gen Audi S3 (8L). That bay always looked so clean and finished. We wanted to bring that same look over to the Golf, Jetta and Bora.
There are two versions, since the MK4 came with two washer tank sizes:
- 3L tank, the smaller one most US cars have: link
- 5.5L tank, usually on Euro cars or cars with headlight washers
Details:
- Fits Golf, Jetta and Bora MK4 (1999–2006)
- Works with every engine: 1.6, 1.8T (including BAM), VR6, TDI, R32
- 3 mm ABS plastic, light and heat-resistant
- Includes a metal bracket that mounts the panel to the washer fluid tank (see the attached photos)
- Bolts right in, no cutting or modifications
- Ships from Florida

VW Infotainment System Compatibility Question
I'm looking to update my VW's infotainment system. The post mentions compatibility with a wide range of models, but I'm unsure if it applies to my specific vehicle. Could someone clarify which VW models and years, as well as specific infotainment units, this update is confirmed to work with?

Help identifying alloys
Does anyone happen to know what these 18” alloys are called or what vehicle they originated on? That’s if they are OEM wheels I’m not certain. I can’t seem to find information on them online and AI has not correctly identified them either. So I turn to the community for help.
Thanks

07k build questions
Im looking for some good 07k mods for my 2012 Jetta. I currently have the ecs tuning cat back and intake. I've been looking into intake manifolds and stage 2 tune. But my Jetta is equipped with hydro steering so the IE manifold wont work. So i was curious if anyone knew much on how the SPA turbo manifolds do on naturally aspirated engines? I'm not currently looking to get forced induction right now, but ill take any other good performance mods anyone knows of. Thanks!

What’s the best VW for city driving and commuting?
If most of your driving is traffic, short trips and squeezing into parking spots, which VW are you taking?
Jetta seems like an easy answer, but a GTI would make the commute a lot more fun. Curious what everyone thinks is the best daily VW for city life.

Looking for advice on finding the right buyer for my TDI
I need to sell my 2004 golf TDI but I want it to go to a good home that will care for it. Does anyone know of a good forum or market I can post an ad in to find this person? The car will need a bit of love so I want to try and find an enthusiast that wants a bit of a project.

2012 vw Jetta 2.5L - Manual - whining noise
I’ve noticed this today, the car starts great and runs smoothly. Only when I turn on the car, no matter if it’s hot or cold, it makes this whining sound and once the engine catches, it goes away. I don’t hear it when I rev it or when I accelerate. It’s only at startup. What could it be?

Replacement engine
Replaced the engine in my 2011 Jetta 2.5 liter SEL. Picked it up 3 days ago. Check engine light and EPC light are both on again. Car ran great the first 2 days. As soon as husband put it on the freeway the issue popped up. So far it hasn't gone into limp mode. Thoughts?

Update on the 2014 Touareg 3.0 TDI I'm looking at. Need some opinions.
Looking for some more opinions from people familiar with the 3.0 TDI Touareg.
I checked out this 2014 with 124k miles. Timing chain sounded good on startup, but I found coolant spraying from somewhere during the inspection. The dealership has agreed to diagnose and repair it at their expense before I buy it.
The DPF and catalytic converter were replaced around 85k miles, but there's no warranty left. I'm comfortable doing most of my own repairs, although I don't have the equipment to scan this one properly.
Curious what everyone thinks about the reliability of these at this mileage and whether $12,500 is a reasonable price assuming the coolant issue gets fixed properly.
More details in my original post.
