I love this car

I went on my first trip in my GTI. Was so much fun and I have not been tired even one bit driving a manual car. I also learned that there is a twin rabbit edition in my town (see the last pic) which is quite random and cool!

Just picked up a set of TSW Esprits. I think it looks alright, tho I'm not exactly sold on the style... Grok designed a stripe package that should even out the design, so I'm gonna look at doing that once everything in my life settles down... But what's funny about it is the colors he picked: they're straight off an Audi R8. lol The sample isn't precisely the colors, but if I change the white stripe between the black and red to silver it'll complete the look pretty well. With a nod to the legendary Audi race teams no less.

Let me know what y'all think! I'm game for bouncing different designs around to see what sticks.

Also, I haven't decided what I'm gonna do with the stock Nogaros yet... I'm thinking about selling them, but I don't know if there's any market for the Performance Pack wheels in my area. Can anyone give any pointers on how to go about selling them? I broke one a few months ago so I only have a partial set, and I'm using one of them as a fullsized spare. Thanks y'all!

The other night I hit a raccoon in my Mk7 GTI Autobahn and lost all coolant instantly, this is the aftermath. I was scheduled for a carbon clean and getting my ac fixed the next day, but now I’m gonna have to get a lot more done than that. Any recommendations for possibly a new front bumper and any tips for what step I should take next?

My 24 Mk8 GTI engine coolant level is low. Going to top it off with some antifreeze but worried it's the pump issue. Thoughts? My car is still under warranty from VW, do you guys think it'll be covered if it is? I took it in last week to get it's NYS inspection done, nothing was found there and it gave me the warning a day before that but not at that time. I also did check the levels and it stayed the same since last week

Need help.

Im driving mk7 2015 1.8 tsi engine with 5 speed manual gearbox.

No leaks, no white smokes.
My engine is burning oil.
After 1000km, oil level is half in dipstick.

Fuel mileage is low.

Change fuel injectors.
Carbon cleaning is done.
Still no changes.

Now i got a new problem. Engine light is on
Showing crankshaft sensor issue.
Car is idling roughly, switches off in low rpms.
Starting in 3-4 crank.

Garage is saying maybe issue with timing,
Hasn’t diagnosed fully yet.
Oil is dirty (feels like less viscosity) since its only driven 1200km since oil change.

Any suggestions???

And in worse case scenario can i replace my engine with 2.0 gti engine with 5 speed gearbox ?

So i’m sick of the fitment on my Mk7.5 Gti the wheels sit too far in, i’m currently lowered on eibach springs and just want to know what size wheels everyone else is running to get somewhat flush fitment without rubbing or fitment issues, any help or input would be great

Just installed a new blow off valve and needed to remove the turbo elbow to access it. Upon removing it i saw a small amount of oil and the surface of the bore doesn’t exactly seem ‘smooth’. Car has had no issues with boost before installation, just wondering if this condition is ‘normal’. Thanks

2018 mk7.5 60k miles

just noticed today that the gas door says 87. does anyone here actually use 87?

2020 mk7.5 stage 2 ECU/TCU with the 7-speed DSG. My Accessport reads my DSG Gearbox Temperature consistently between 70 - 130 degrees fahrenheit during normal drives (30mins). If i drive further or the ambient temp is hot, ive only seen it get up to about 160F after quite a lot of driving. I’ve been told that my temperature should be running hotter than my current values, any suggestions on what this may be?

This gti im looking at buying, the seller says it runs on ethanol so realistically how much hp and what’s done to it to run on ethanol? Im just seeing what the ball park is on hp and what im getting myself into lmao

2019 GTI S 6MT with 97,000 miles

Spark plugs were replaced at 82,000

Carbon cleaning at 91,000

Ignition coils were replaced at 94,000

Ran some Liqui Moly Jectron at 96,000 to see if it would make any difference, no dice with clearing codes

I’ve been dealing with misfires (codes listed in title) since ~80,000 miles and had the services mentioned above completed, however, the misfires persist. The misfires were more sporadic in the beginning, but now my car is throwing these codes pretty much daily. The solid CEL only comes up on cold start, never while driving. To me, I don’t notice any out-of-the-ordinary behavior, sounds, etc. during these “misfires.” No performance issues while driving either. The exhaust emits a fairly strong fuel smell on cold starts but it subsides quickly (that’s normal, no?) Never smell it from inside the cabin

My independent mechanic has suggested replacing the fuel injectors since we have ruled out plugs, coils, and carbon cleaning

With all of that said, are replacing the injectors urgent at the moment?

I am currently running a catless downpipe in my MK7 GTI. It's how I bought the car, not something I spent any money on purchasing, installing or tuning for.

Its tuned for the catless downpipe, but I am wanting to put a high flow cat back on. It's more of a legal reason (voids insurance in my country) rather than anything else.

Would I need a retune going from a catless downpipe to a high flow downpipe?

So this happened last night when I hit this huge pothole on a highway service road. Ugh. Less than a thousand miles on it. Sigh.

after months of research and waiting I finally got one. Brand new 2026 GTI Autobahn! Bought it with 15 miles this is my first NEW NEW car literally ever and I’m loving it so far! Trying to take it easy and break it in right (not going above 4k rpm, different ranges of load and driving, traffic, highway etc). The car is plenty zippy even below 4k rpm has a nice sound aswell and feels so nimble like driving a go-kart. It’s extremely fun. My only complaint is the H/K sound system is a little underwhelming, I haven’t messed with the EQ yet but if anyone has recommendations let me know!

I’m at 240 miles currently and the MPG is freaking amazing for what this thing is. One of the biggest reasons I went GTI was budget I wanted to land in the 35-40k range as I didn’t want a payment this checked all the boxes! I almost bought an Elantra N but reliability scared me away along with the interior feeling a whole league behind the GTI, I’m happy with my purchase.

Already have an IE intake and cat back exhaust on order and have an appointment to get tint done next week. Is there any other mod / maintenance recommendations?
