Simple Tips & Tricks
The first clip shows a simple tool that gets a rope around something. The tension provided by the rope itself to keep it closed, the opening in a second direction…..brilliant.

Went recently to Europe and picked up some German tools for about 30% less than what they cost here in BC. Had a chance to compare them side-by-side, and I honestly think I'm leaning toward Hazet. They feel a bit lighter yet super rigid, and the surface finish is stellar

Snapped my 1/16 and bent my 5/64. Happens pretty often to me. These aren’t high dollar punches, and I’ve never bought high dollar punches, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it to invest in pricier ones or not.
I work on and repair firearms, many being very old and or antique that sometimes have very stubborn pins and straight pins. I’ve bent/snapped multiple of the skinnier punches over the last few years.
I just now learned short punches are a thing so I’ll try those but I still often need the longer ones to fully drive things out.
Any recommendations?
Everywhere (Lowe’s, Home Depot, tractor supply, harbor freight) sells these seemingly useless toolboxes that are too small for anything meaningful.
I recently was gifted one. Has anyone come up with a purpose for them?

I went to Boss. I know that there are mixed feelings about this. I've been swinging a steel Estwing for years, and I LOVE that hammer. But, it does "ping" with noise every time I strike metal. It's a lasting, resonate-sounding ping.
After a few days of the new hammer, I can say these things confidently:
1) I drive everything easier. I swing so much faster with less vibration to my hand. I definitely notice a difference by the end of the day. I'm sinking everything with 1-3 swings less than my steel hammer.
2) The magnetic setter is a game changer. I get that it's common in many hammers, but I do enjoy the feature.
3) The straight-edge on one side of the hammer is amazing for the allignment of boards.
4) It just feels so much better than my Estwing. I still love my steel Estwing.
Downsides? For sure.
1) Takes time to adapt to the balance
2) Old-heads hate it.
3) When you drive nails and then "cheat" a board, the 14 ounce titanium doesnt have the same "ass" as the heavier steel models. The nails drive like a dream. Moving the lumber is a different story.
4) It can be distracting to try to justify the features of the hammer rather than just using your square. This is not to say that you HAVE to use the square, or that the hammer is inaccurate. I'm just mentioning that it CAN be a distraction.
Overall? I'll 100% keep using the titanium. For 95%, I'm good wth it. However, I still keep my steel hammer in my pouch.
Hey guys! This is my first post here and I’m new to this hobby. I was easily blown away by the prospect of bit drivers and picked myself up a non ratcheting Wiha centrofix and a ratcheting Anex—got a bosch variety set to start off with, so i was wondering what are some good brands to look at for bit options and maybe bit storage.

Some J-B Weld ClearWeld and MarineWeld packaging show different pressure rating (Pound per Square Inch, PSI) depending on where you buy them from. However: same company, same made-in-USA origin, same exact products as far as I can tell. I am no chemical engineer so please enlighten me. Is that because each country, for example USA vs Australia, has different test requirements?
Products purchased with my own money and delivered at home, so screenshots are not from old internet ads.

The kobolt couplers that I have on the part that you attach the tire how unusual is it to have it it is like I have it now compared to just having the long thing directly connected to the red hose? The way I have it now I'm I just making it worse or better?

Wasn’t liking how everything was sitting so I designed this insert for the structured packout backpack. Gives a couple more spots dedicated for my larger pliers as well as a magnetic retention slot for my Wera ratcheting driver. So far looks to be like it’s going to be a massive win. I am working on a slight modification to allow the slightly larger handle for the lineman’s but I’ll print that next week.

Got a pair of these from a garage clean out for free, looked em up and they’re called “End Cut Pliers”. Are they just for cutting off nails or something else? Not really sure how I’d use em

I was gifted this skill bandsaw without the belts, and the pulley and table have this white corrosion on it. Any suggestions on how to get it off? Or do I just sand it off? It seems like it’s some kind of corrosion.
Sorry if this is a dumb question or if I should’ve asked elsewhere, I’ve never tried to fix a tool like this before.

Hey all, im wondering if this is going to work, I’ve blocked all the holes in radiator and filled it with water/degreaser but its obviously not fully submerged, my idea is the water inside the radiator will transmit the ultrasonic waves up through it and clean it internally. Am I going to regret this or will it work

I work in a shop mostly but a few times a week need to load into a pick up and go into the field to work on equipment.
Ive been looking at the SK stackable tool boxes as an option for my most used stuff as an alternative to filling buckets and totes every time I need to go out. I’d love a proper road chest but don’t have the shop space.
Does anybody have experience with them good or bad? I’ve had some good SK tools but have never laid hands on one of their boxes

Hey everyone. Just wanted to show off the 2 tool pouches I mainly use for work. Im a glazier so I'm either replacing glass in a window/sliding door or I'm changing out the hardware (locks, wheels, balancers, etc.)
Depending on what I'm doing I'll grab one of these 2 pouches. I dont like swapping tools around from my tool bag for each job; just grab and go. The small one is for reglazes and the 2nd one is for hardware. I keep the bigger front pouch empty on the 2nd one so I can throw in whatever parts in bringing with me.
I also just finished my first work week with mega-bucket (thats what my wife calls it) and this thing has changed me. I used to just stuff everything in my bucket where glass and debris is going to end up, thats no longer an issue. Also now when I show up to a job I just grab my bucket and go, I don't have to spend a minute to collect everything I need.
Any tiny conveniences you can make for yourself will make your work days a lot smoother.

Finally got a place with a garage and am looking at buying my first tool trolley. Looking at getting one of the ones in the pictures, I prefer the stainless steel but am unsure about the usefulness of the cabinet on the right side. Looking to see what your guys preference would be. Could see myself storing fluids and tool cases in there i suppose.

My local store is selling the TOOL ONLY drill for $120. Albeit it’s not the hammer drill version, however I was looking for something to use with my older M18 impact driver. I have m18 and m12 batteries.
Or should I just get an m12 hammer drill kit for $150.
Using it on diy tasks.

Just got a maintenance tech job at a big distribution center. Will mostly be working on conveyor systems and other general maintenance. Which set would you choose between Tekton and ICON. I like that I can get a better range for $20 with Tekton but I have Harbor Freight down the street from me.

I am having trouble organizing sockets and wrenches because I don’t have complete sets (I.e. 6mm-18mm) for each of them. I see the organizers at harbor freight and Lowe’s but I don’t know if I can fill them up. How does everyone else overcome this?

Have been eyeing up the Vessel mini electric ratchet for a while and asked a friend stationed in Japan to see if he could get a good deal on a set. This came in today. Didn't even know there was a gold edition.
