Community Roundup - Smaller kink subreddits you should check out! NSFW

All of the communities below have less than 10k members and fill a space in our community. No porn subs, these are all reflective communities that focus on a specific aspect of kink. I hope people find this helpful, and if you know of any SMALL communities I should add to future posts, please comment with them below!

r/DomSubMarriage A community for people in D/s relationships with their spouse or other committed romantic partner. Integrating D/s with other aspects of love and marriage – such as parenting and managing a household – can present unique emotional and logistical challenges. Here we help each other figure it out and make the most of our dynamics as well. [THIS IS THE RESSURECTED r/marriedbdsm that was unceremoniously banned a few months ago, that is working hard to rebuild!]

r/BDSMgrowth BDSM Growth is a space for thoughtful, mature conversations about power exchange. We focus on reflection, intentional practice, and long-term growth within D/s and other BDSM dynamics. This is not a space for hookup posts or fantasy roleplay. We're here to talk about the real work of building, sustaining, and evolving power exchange relationships as a lifestyle.

r/PetplayHaven Community-centered space for exploring petplay as a lifestyle rooted in connection, identity, and personal growth. This subreddit is for pets, handlers, and anyone drawn to the petplay dynamic who values emotional depth, structure, and supportive relationships. r/Dompeptalk Dom pep talk

Welcome. This is a place where submissive people can ask for some support, with a bit of dominant energy thrown in. Tell us what you want encouragement or praise for, and what your limits are—like, what kind of language is okay, and stuff like that. Read the rules for more details. Don't send direct messages to posters. Over 18 only please. No posts from Dom/mes looking for support. Dominants need care too but this space is about subs. Thanks.

How to find a Dom that won’t break your brain. NSFW

THIS POST WAS PINNED TO THE TOP OF THIS GROUP AND HAD OVER 500k views. Somehow it was *deleted from within my account, which I didn’t do. Which is honestly pretty scary. Posting again because of how many messages I received that it was helpful.

Speaking from recent experience:

Sad Fact: Not every man who calls himself a Dom is actually capable of safely handling your submission. And if you let the wrong guy in— one who lacks emotional maturity or an actual understanding of the psychology of submission— you’re not just signing up for some mediocre bedroom experiences. You’re putting your heart, mind, and nervous system in the hands of someone who doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing, causing a ton of psychological distress. (Possibly long term, possibly making your own desires and kinks a trigger for you later. Which absolutely sucks.) I just watched this happen to two women, by one highly uneducated and relationally immature man who called himself an experienced Dom. (But for some reason none of his past serious partners will speak to him anymore…) He’s a good guy in other ways, creative, funny, affectionate, but unfortunately that does not equal safety in D/s.

So here’s the master list, the non-negotiables, the “if he doesn’t have these, run” guide to finding a Dom who is actually worth your time (and trust).

THE ESSENTIAL QUALITIES OF A DOM WHO WON’T BREAK YOUR BRAIN

✅ He Asks Real, Thoughtful Questions About Your Submission. A Dom should be obsessed with understanding what submission means to you, not just what turns HIM on. If he’s not constantly asking things like:

How do you want to feel in submission? What parts of this dynamic nourish you? What fears come up for you, what parts would you like to adjust? —then he’s not leading. He’s guessing, or kink pushing. And your safety (emotional, psychological, and physical) should never be a guessing game. Your desires as a sub are equally important. Too many people think you just show up and do what they say, hell no! That’s only fun after ALL of the conversations about the desires and drives of BOTH people. This is a relationship. It requires both people understand what a healthy relationship looks and feels like and what healthy relationship communication is.

🚩 If this is missing: He will just project his own kinks onto you, assuming he understands because he’s just unconsciously trying to slide you into HIS desires. At best, this leads to disconnect and disappointment. At worst, it leads to serious emotional/psychological harm because you’re not being seen or heard, but still used.

✅ He Creates Emotional & Psychological Safety Before Anything Else

You sit down together, outside of any roles or dynamic and talk about these things. D/s is a RELATIONSHIP. You talk about it as two, separate, humans outside of any power exchange. Before rules, before rituals, before telling you to call him Daddy— you should feel deeply, instinctively safe with him. You hand your power over intentionally, when you are READY, and it is clear when it is returned. This means: You never feel like you’re walking on eggshells. He listens, absorbs, and adjusts to your needs. He knows that psychological and relational safety is what makes deep surrender possible and actually prioritizes that over his own desires. A good Dom understands the big picture, wants to FACILITATE, not just fulfill his kinks. You have the clarity to know what’s happening in the power dynamic, so you can ENJOY it.

🚩 If this is missing: You will either shut down, become psychologically compartmentalized, or bypass yourself trying to keep him close because submission often comes with dependance. Either way, you will not be able to fully surrender—because your body and mind won’t let you, and you may end up having to choose between the relationship or doing things that you don’t feel good about later, and don’t feel ok bringing up, feeling completely isolated in your experience.

✅ He Takes Responsibility, Not Just Control A real Dom owns his mistakes, actively checks in, and adjusts when something isn’t working. He WANTS regular check ins. He doesn’t gaslight, deflect, or ignore your feedback when something feels off. He leads with accountability, not just authority. He fully understands subspace, and what is and isn’t safe in that state. You feel his respect for who you are both in and out of the dynamic.

🚩 If this is missing: You’ll feel unheard, invalidated, and start doubting your own needs. You’ll feel lost because your body and psychology are attached to the dominance of someone who doesn’t even know you, which is terrifyingly disorienting. You’ll say yes to things in subspace, and feel uncomfortable later that he didn’t respect that vulnerability of body and mind.

✅ He’s Not Just Role-Playing Dominance—He Embodies Presence

He walks through the world with care and empathy for others. He is solid in his communities and respected by the people who know him well. He allows himself to be a whole human and can be present with his own emotions in a healthy way as well. Not repressing, or raging. (Because if he can’t be with his own feelings, he definitely can’t be with yours.) The highest forms of this dynamic make space for and include our emotional sides. His leadership doesn’t feel performative or hot/cold.

🚩 If this is missing: You will feel like you’re constantly trying to decipher whether his dominance is real or just a mask. And when the mask slips (because it will), you’ll be left feeling disappointed, unfulfilled, or straight-up unsafe. You won’t feel safe sharing your needs, as they will trigger discomfort in him.

✅ He Knows Submission is a Gift, Not a Right The best Doms? They revere submission. They see it as something sacred. They never take it for granted or treat it like a service you owe them. If he’s truly worthy of your submission, he will make damn sure that surrendering to him feels like the best, safest, most nourishing choice.

🚩 If this is missing: He will expect submission without earning it. And that, my friends, is how you end up with a man who thinks “dominance” means control without conversation. Prompting you to call him Daddy before he’s even broken up with his previous sub. Telling you to get on your knees without having any clue if that’s a part of submission you’re actively signing up for.

Most important: HE HAS EDUCATED HIMSELF.

A real Dom doesn’t just rely on instincts—he educates himself. If he’s not actively learning about power exchange, psychology, nervous system regulation and emotional safety, he’s just making it up as he goes. And guess who suffers for that? You. Your brain chemicals, your attachment system, your mental health and potentially your future relationships to your own sexuality and to other people.

✅ He Reads, Studies, and Learns—Books, workshops, actual discussions with experienced people about nuanced consent and safety. If his entire education is porn, Fetlife and Reddit threads, run.

✅ He Learns From You—Your needs, fears, patterns. He asks, listens, and adapts. If he assumes he already knows best, he doesn’t.

🚩 If he skips this step: His “dominance” will be control without care, ego-driven, and likely damaging. He will expect submission without earning it— and he won’t know how to repair trust when he inevitably messes up.

So… If he hasn’t studied, he hasn’t earned your submission. Leadership requires knowledge. Dominance requires leadership. If he won’t put in the work, he doesn’t get the privilege of YOU.

👿WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CHOOSE A DOM WITHOUT THESE QUALITIES?

You will feel anxious instead of held. You will second-guess your own needs. You will spend more time trying to feel safe in the relationship than surrendering into it. You will question your own worth outside of your body. You will confuse “intensity” with “depth” and not realize the difference until you’re emotionally exhausted, and psychologically attached.

You will, at some point, find yourself ranting to a friend or therapist about how this guy “just does not get it,” and she will gently suggest that maybe, just maybe, it’s because he’s an emotionally stunted man who wanted power and control of your body and mind but not the IMMENSE responsibility that comes with that. And you deserve so much better than that.

Now go forth, be discerning, and don’t let any dude with fragile masculinity and a half-baked DDLG kink convince you that he’s the Daddy you’ve been looking for.

The world needs women to be EMPOWERED by their own play and submission, and there are absolutely Doms that can do that. Wait for one, you deserve it. ❤️❤️❤️

The resource I recommend most, is the book The Heart of Dominance. For both sides of the slash.

I also firmly believe no one should be practicing kink if they don’t have high level interpersonal skills. Too much damage can be done if people don’t know what healthy relationships look feel and sound like. For that, I recommend the books by Sue Johnson, Jillian Tureki and online courses with Mark Groves. Also, a book called Becoming The One.

TL;DR: A Dom who doesn’t educate himself is just a boy on a power trip. Real dominance requires study, emotional intelligence, and actual effort. If he isn’t reading, learning, and deeply understanding YOU, he hasn’t earned your submission. Leadership isn’t instinct— it’s a skill. If he won’t put in the work, he doesn’t deserve the role. Your emotional wellness matters.

Just a reminder because I'm seeing lots of ghosting posts again NSFW

Hey everyone. I have a reminder. if you're talking to a new dom (more specifically from Europe) in these last weeks of October. if they are really available all the time, if it feels like you are talking non-stop. if it feels like you're the only person they care about and you can talk to them whenever...

please remember that this is a two-weekly vacation time, most people take two weeks of leave around the autumn break. Some men (yes I'm specifically talking about men) are going to be jobless and friendless and no actual vacation plans. they are going to use that time to satisfy their horniness. they are going to be available for two or three weeks, and then... they're gonna have to go back to work or school and suddenly the amount of time they spend with you is going to get less and less. they are going to overpromise and love-bomb you. they might even believe it themselves because vacation has that affect on you. they are going to pretend this is going to be normal in the dynamic...

but it is not normal. take it slow. this also happens on weekends. if they made a ad on friday, be sure to take it slow until next Wednesday. do not trust the amount of time and effort they can offer you on weekends or vacation times.

be safe.

edit: apparently bi-weekly means something else, so I changed it to two-weekly. lol

Just start with telling me you're cheating on your spouse or partner NSFW

I texted a guy for about an hour today from a dating app. Seemed to be going well. We talked about D/s dynamics, religion, life.

When I asked if he had a partner (I'm poly and it's not uncommon to encounter people in the kink, libertine, BDSM communities who are open or poly), he said to refer to his bio. When I asked if they were open he said "the Mrs doesn't know about anything".

And then I have to say "sorry, I don't do that" and I've just wasted my time.

I probably should have asked first, but starting with "are you a cheater?" often gets false positives.

He promised to look after his property, he broke me instead. NSFW

There was an accident and my sturnam was fractured. It was not his fault, but he was involved. It was a week before he took me to the hospital. He had 3 consecutive dates in that week. And we're in the UK, it was nothing to do with money, just lack of care. He wonders why the trust is gone and I don't feel safe and protected anymore. I'm still in pain and haven't slept well in days. He's got another date tonight, though, so good for him. One guy I was negotiating a scene with has now backed out directly because of this. The woman I was dating has now bought a house and is moving away. The isolation is nearly as painful as my chest.

I don't need advice, just a sanity check that this ain't right, please

1st time drop NSFW

I have been a sub for a long time but took a break over the past year when I lost my mom. We had a session for the 1st time in a year.

He did a great job, I took more than I thought I could. He pushed himself more than he thought her could. He tied me up with my hands above my head in our shop. It was truly amazing. Then he untied me asked if I was ok, I was still in sub space. Then he asked me to take the bag in and he was moving the tractor (we live on a farm) I walked the dog and he came in, went to get vanilla waffers and I immediately shut down and crashed very hard. It was about 10min after we finished.

We have always had sex and connected more after and this time there was nothing. He tried to comfort me but it did not help. I felt like a box he checked and gave me a session. He swears it was not like that but I did not stop crying all night long.

Everything I have read says it was a drop and I have NEVER had one of those. I just dont know what to do now and I am scared to do another session. My heart feels like it is breaking.

An example of talking about safewords NSFW

Safewords are really important to me, and I have seen lots of new subs ask about them. I think when we’re new or when we’re in bad dynamics, it’s hard to know what good safeword reactions from a Dom look like, or what advocating for ourselves might look like. With his permission and yours, could I offer a conversational example, from a chat I had with a very good Dom?

We are in a great, mostly online, dynamic right now. He earned my trust over 7+ months. We like playing, consensually of course, with pain/pleasure and with pushing my physical limits. We had an intense scene recently where I was following instructions and felt a mental shift during the scene that I thought he needed to know about to keep us both safe.

I wanted him to know that I might subspace out and not safeword. Conversation went well, and it looked like this (below).

If it’s helpful for you, take what you like or I’m open to any questions or others’ examples of how you’ve said the same thing.

====== Safewords checkin====

Sir: Good morning baby

Sub: 🥰 good mooooorning!
A sub just came again reading that scene back Sir 🥵Fuck that was hot 😘 I hope you get to enjoy it too xx. I need to tell a Sir a thing too before I forget…

Sir: What do you need to tell?

Sub: Debrief things 😘 That was crazy hot.
I think you’re gonna need to make me “tell me your color” or something when trying new things in the future? 🙇‍♀️ cuz otherwise I might get riskily dumb with you, and want to flag that before it happens 😶‍🌫️
a shift I felt that a Sir should know…
- [activity] actually hurt at first. Not just on the border of pleasure/pain. I pushed through because I get pleasure from pleasing you 🥵 and from overcoming new obstacles with my body ⚡️
- I knew I was going to try doing more and that I might “yellow” if needed. (I wasn’t so far gone that I wasn’t able to safeword, so we’re both good there)
- After a bit, the actual hurt lessened and it settled into this intense, good heat of hyper stimulation

I want you to know… you admitting that something you want is a little sadistic but you want it anyway, for some reason, felt like a crazy turn on to me🔥 🥵 😈 I love you getting to explore some desires 🙇‍♀️ and being a sub you get pleasure from experimenting on ⚡️

I’m flagging it because it’s so hot, you might be able to override some of my good sense and body awareness in the moment. Even online. I don’t know exactly how this line of arousal works for me yet 😳

Sir: Got it now :)
I completely understand what you're saying baby, I have no issue asking you for your color in the moment. It had not crossed my mind that you might be in a subspace and not think to state the color on your own unprompted

Sub: Yeah, it's hard to see that online! I wasn't in that space this time, but I was thinking, “oh I see how I could very easily end up there" and you wouldn't know

Sir: Mhm, I definitely like pushing limits, but I do not want you to have your limits pushed just to please me or end up forgetting yourself in the moment.

Sub: Oh, idea!
Could we practice sometime?
I think practice beats intention when in lust. I think I need to hear a "good girl" a few times for a “yellow”. 🙇‍♀️

Sir: Can you say a little more about what you mean? I think I follow

Sub: Mhm, I intellectually *know you want me to “yellow” if I need to, but we both find it so hot when I push through something, that I might need to reinforce the idea that “yellow” is good too, so I don't make the mistake of not saying it, or make the mistake of feeling like “green” is always best

Since I mostly say "green" and get a "good girl" 🫠 a brain can learn that "green = good" instead of "safewording honestly = good".

The more I trust and enjoy pleasing you... it's normal that things can slip in the direction of not using safewords much, but then they can get harder to activate when needed.

I'm meaning that I likely need some reps of saying "yellow" to things and hearing praise for that too 🙃💚💛 so I keep the habit of “any safeword is good and Sir wants them”

Sir: Ohh okay, I definitely can praise you for saying your colors baby

You've been a very good girl this morning by speaking up about something that's very important

Sub: 🥰 🫠 mmm thank you Sir

Sir: I'm very excited to play more with you and to keep pushing the boundaries, safely
======

After a break up, when did you feel ready for the next one? NSFW

And what do I do during this time of not being ready? I feel like this is a silly question. For back story, I’m married and in an open relationship. Husband is vanilla and he does his own thing, I just got out of my first dom/sub relationship of two years. I broke up with my dom two weeks ago, and have my reasons(maybe I’ll make another post about it later).

Because my husband is vanilla, bisexual, and leans more towards liking men(I’m a woman), we don’t have sex much. And I’m missing sex so much right now. I’ve tried hookups and either get 1-very unsatisfactory sex and have to let the other guy down and then I feel bad, or 2-very good sex from one guy, but I’m not sure he’s looking for any sort of relationship right now due to his crappy communication.

I find myself hyperfixating on guy #2 that I hooked up with, and really I think my brain is trying to jump into another dynamic to replace my old one. I realize this is an awful idea.

So what the heck do I do?

My "perfect" Daddy blindsided me today. I'm crushed. NSFW

Update/ETA: We have talked and are talking about things. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and trying to understand that communication is and has been the problem here. Lack of communication about what outside issues have brought him to this point are the real issue. We aren't ending things atm. I definitely don't want to lose him and would love for this to be a "let's learn from our mistakes," moment and make this work. We'll see. 🤷‍♀️

.......

I have been in a LD irl romantic relationship with my Daddy for nearly a year. We have a great relationship...or so I thought.

I have done nothing but gush over him. I have felt nothing but loved, cared for, seen, treated like a princess, etc....etc..etc... I truly thought I had the most perfect Daddy ever.

He started to get distant over the weekend and I asked him about it. He said absolutely nothing was wrong. Yesterday he all but ignored me. Today, he told me he isn't sure he wants this anymore.

He told me that making me happy was becoming too much for him. He told me that he does so much to make me happy and avoid conflict that it's taking a toll on him. We have never had a real fight. He is definitely more avoidant than me.

I had no idea he felt this way. I followed his lead. I asked him at every turn, "Is this ok. Does this work. Are you happy with this. It's this too much..." I respected him if he didn't want bratting, I asked before I assumed something was acceptable. I checked in often to make sure we were always on the same page with how our dynamic was going. I offered things like less contact when he said he was overwhelmed and he literally said, "No. Your constant contact, even when I'm down, means more to me than you know."

I feel like I've been lied to this whole time. I feel like I can never tell him what bothers me ever again. I can't be open and honest about my needs anymore. I feel like I've been too much this whole time and finally found a man who didn't think that but he was lying.

He said he needed to think about the future of our dynamic today after ignoring me all day. I didn't even know he was unhappy.

I am crushed. I can't sleep. I cried all day. I trusted him. I just really truly trusted him in ways I've never trusted anyone.

Idk what to do. A piece of me is so hurt by how he treated me today I don't even care if he ends it. The other piece wants to work this out bc I feel like it's just a lack of him communicating his needs and thinking putting mine above his was the only way to sustain this but it wasn't. I made every effort to ask him how to support him and he would always say, "You're perfect. Our relationship is perfect." I don't understand this at all.

If anyone has some kind words, I could use them please NSFW

I was ghosted today, and while I’m not necessarily surprised due to the experiences I’ve already had, I’m still pretty bummed out… I’m not even sure what went wrong. We’d only been talking for about a month and it wasn’t anything official, but we talked daily and played games, and I considered what we had going special. Our schedules didn’t match up terribly well because I work odd hours and sleep some of the day, but I really looked forward to being able to talk and interact with him when I could.

He removed me on everything, and deleted all the pictures he’d sent of himself- which is understandable if you’re cutting ties, but it was the absolute lengths he went to to remove himself in a span of not even 12 hours that hurts, I guess… We had plans to meet on Halloween to see how we got along in person and even picked matching costumes, and now I don’t know what I’m going to do with mine when it arrives in the mail today 🙁

I’ve had a bunch of other stressful things going on already from work and mental and physical health issues, and this just makes it all a little more sucky 🤧 even all the points in the obedience app I lost from this make me sad. Does anyone have a spare hug?

Moving on. NSFW

I’ve been talking to a new potential Daddy for a few days now. He seems wonderful. We’ve had a short phone call and plan to have more. He was busy today at work and yet still made time to call even if it was only 3 minutes. The effort he is putting in is genuinely amazing. He’s asking questions to get to know me, he’s giving thoughtful responses that are more than a singular sentence. Coming from a low effort ex dom to this is blowing my mind.

Today after our call and several voice notes he sent me a video asking if I’d be his. I want to say yes, but I don’t want to rush. I want to build a dynamic to last, not just a fling.

I know I need to communicate this to him, and I will. I’m trying to remain cautious but yet live in my optimistic flirty bubble. 🩷

What's your favorite impact toy? NSFW

Question in title. I'm kinda shopping around for some ideas and wanna see what everyone else likes. I tend to like thuddy personally, and my favorite was this mini wooden baseball bat about foot and a half long. Dom had a lotta control with it and hurt just right.

So what's your favorite or weirdest impact toy?

“Subs don’t do much work” NSFW

“Subs don’t do much work”, says my ex dom. “I wish I could be a sub sometimes and just lay there and let the dom do all of the work”.

As I sit here, sore and bruised from a recent session(from a different dom) these thoughts rush into my head.

-I was restrained in various ways that created vulnerabilities and no escape
-I put my life at risk for certain sexual activities
-I was marked with bruises and scratches on my body. Sometimes these bruises would last weeks or more, also made it difficult to wear shorts at my workplace, putting myself in an uncomfortable position daily at work.
-After some sessions I’d be sore for days, all while he would sleep with another girl the very next day.

I know every dynamic is different, and this is just my short story, and I want to express that I consented to all of these things. But it amazes me how some people can be so blind to the sacrifices that subs make.

abandonment NSFW

Hello. I have posted here before, with several people leaving me. It has happened again and this time may be the worst of it all. I don’t know where else to post it because the nature of things.

There was someone I talked to for a very long time. Someone who genuinely I could say I loved. And out of the blue, he is gone, and I have no way of ever speaking to him again. This time that is not just anxiety speaking, but the truth.

There very much was an age-gap. At times, he genuinely felt like a father figure to me, And we would also be sexual together. I loved hearing stories of his sexual experiences, I loved listening to his advice, I loved just TALKING to him every day. He helped me feel comfortable in my body. He made me feel safe to be myself. He promised me he wouldn’t disappear, and for once, I actually believed it. He promised me.

I know he was struggling. I tried to do everything right. And he left like he said I wouldn’t, left like I never meant a thing. I don’t even feel so much of the hurt by feeling disposable, that’s just a tiny bit. I moreso am just beyond devastated to be abandoned, by someone I thought would never do that to me

Tips for humiliating myself? NSFW

• Upvotes

I talked to my Master and I expressed how frustrated I was because I couldn't find the words to degrade/humiliate myself when he ordered me to. I always had to stop and think, and whenever I couldn't do it, I started panicking and sobbing because I wasn't able to proceed, so obviously the safeword came in.

He's really sweet, we love each other and he takes care of me. Lots of aftercare and praise and affirmations. And despite him saying it's okay for me to not know how to answer sometimes, I still want to improve. This is really important to both of us.

How can I show more humility and what words could I use along with body language?? Any advice is welcome, thank you :(

New to BDSM: Was my first D/s relationship unhealthy, and how can I learn to recognize red flags? NSFW

Hi, I’m new to BDSM. I’m 24 years old and a "switch." I was in a D/s relationship with a 26-year-old man who acted as my Dom. I put him on a pedestal and trusted him far too much something I now regret. After talking to others, I’ve come to realize that his behavior was a form of "grooming" and that he was consistently disrespectful; in this relationship, I only seemed to exist when he was bored or horny.

I really didn’t have any prior experience (I’ve never even had a boyfriend), and it was my first relationship with a Dom, so I got way too attached like a fool. I trusted him deeply, but it seems the whole dynamic was built on well, I’m not sure; a lack of respect toward me. I honestly don’t know what was a lie and what was the truth.

When I was in the relationship, I felt happy whenever he gave me attention the way he would "train" me, or how he would "wait" for me to be ready to do something. I told him I needed him to be consistent (he never was); I had actually ended things with him twice before for that very reason. But after a while, he would come back, and I would take him back. It was a cycle of intense attention he would even tell me that if I "behaved well," he would give me more attention, including on weekends (though he wouldn't talk to me on weekends, even though at other times he would). Then, he would disappear, only to return with a flood of attention—which left me confused and created spikes of excitement, followed by being completely ignored.

It felt like a "friends-with-benefits" arrangement involving unconventional activities. He calls himself a "Dom" and a "Daddy" and has sadistic tendencies, but I am 100% convinced he is a "fake Dom." We never discussed boundaries, expectations, or safe words I think they weren't necessary because he "respected my 'no's'." We never had a conversation about exclusivity, yet whenever I asked if I could speak to other Doms, he told me I wasn't allowed to that I could only talk to other "subs"

After he ignored me for four days, I asked him what kind of relationship we actually had; he replied, "I own you." I told him it was confusing that he would abandon me for days, only to return and claim I "belonged" to him. He didn't respond. I told him that I had never done anything wrong and had always treated him with respect, yet this was how he treated me, and that he would never treat me fairly.

He then blocked me on Snapchat and Twitter. Later, he unblocked me on Snapchat; I saw that he had read my message 15 hours earlier, so I blocked him.

It’s unfair that this was my first experience discovering that it may have just been him using my body whenever he was bored. I had believed we were on equal footing and that the feelings were mutual, but whenever I needed something, he would either ignore me or provide it for a few days before reverting to his usual behavior :( that's sad

What can I learn, or where can I look to learn more about this community, so that I’m not so naive next time? What might help me in the future for instance, how can I spot a "fake" Dom, or are there any other tips that could be useful?

Needing Help? NSFW

I'm not sure if I'm in the right spot or how to word this post. I'm still new to all of this. I am a 25 year old female sub and I want to learn more about the community, become more involved & maybe find someone who is willing to be a mentor of sorts and help me learn and make sense of things. I have for many years known I was a submissive person but never looked into it further because I was scared of what that meant in a way. I have recently realized that there are certain things that I am no longer happy with living without in relationships/life in general and want to try to learn more about how to go about having those needs fulfilled. I apologize if this is not the right place for this.

My M/S dynamic recently ended and I feel so lost NSFW

My Master and I ended our dynamic. We are still in contact but I’m not sure if we will be able to repair things and if things are over for good.
I’ve had a really difficult time processing this as this as the first dynamic I’ve ever been in. I feel so beyond lost right now— unlike any previous break up.
I’m trying my best to take care of myself and trust whatever’s meant to be will be. It’s just been so hard. And many of my friends are not in the kink-sphere so it’s hard for them to fully comprehend what I’m feeling. I miss the care, the order, the direction, the rules, the protocols. Just, everything.

I bought a new lingerie set to make myself feel better. I also bought a rope to practice self-tying Shibari to maybe find some peace.

I don’t really know why I’m writing here. I’ve been a long-time lurker and I guess I’m just looking for someone else to understand and relate. I just feel so alone in this. And I miss my Master.

If you’ve even read this, thank you. I’m quite quiet on here but I really love this group and I’m so happy a space like this exists 🖤

Experiences in getting over a D/s breakup? NSFW

Hi folks,

Thanks in advance for reading this. I’m writing for a place of grief and sadness, and I am not totally sure what I am hoping for from this post. Reassurance? That someone has experienced something like this and come back, just so I know it can be done? Recognition, being seen, advice? I guess all of that. It’s important to note I have access to really great mental health care and I am using it. So I will be okay, but that doesn’t make it magically easy or something.

So it’s a low time of year. It’s been almost a year since my (M) ex partner domme (F) left me. We’d been together from 2016 to 2025. There were lots of good times and lots of not-good times. When we met, I was 36, she 31.

For the first two years, things were amazing. The intimacy and sex were off the charts. We just got each other and after a point, called each other husband and wife. We were each other’s home. We talked every day and things were easy. Of course, we also had huge red flags that we both weren’t seeing or were ignoring. I wasn’t good at managing my own emotions, turning to her to regulate them. She claimed to have no emotions and wouldn’t offer any visibility into her inner world. Also we got physical FAST, like by the second date. But you know, we both entered into that.

Things changed in 2018 - she changed careers, and pretty quickly after that, everything changed. No holding hands, no sleeping together nude holding each other, less kissing, and our D/s dynamic changed radically. Previous, we would both give each other pleasure - especially me giving to her. After this change in 2018 I never got to touch her sexually again or really even see her in a sexual way. I’d get tied up and given pleasure, but basically this was the sudden start of a years-long decline in intimacy that waned further and further. We used to talk on the phone daily, after this - never. Probably lots of other intimacy went out the window. In some ways I feel like we broke up in 2018 and then the relationship just kept going on for another 7 years. I was never invited to her friend group. Never invited back to her house after this.

Neither of us were able to talk about it. We tried a few times, but it never went well from either of our sides. I’m not going to get into the specifics of what was said or not said, but we both handled talking about it really poorly. She would shut down, and I was somehow so anxious and passive aggressive in tiny ways that built up over time.

Other things happened through the years - a death in the family where I wasn’t wanted when it happened, and I wasn’t invited tot he funeral either, despite us having been together for 5 years by then.

The relationship just got shallower and shallower over time, with us getting further and further locked in a routine where were only rarely connected, rarely opened up to each other, and even that got more and more infrequent over time. All the same, I was deeply in love and couldn’t imagine leaving her. I don’t think even if she had cheated on me - I probably would have still stayed. I remember thinking, when times were tough “at least I should just love what I have, starting over would be awful”. And we went through tough times - my career ups and downs where I relied on her so heavily. And she was trying to find ways to connect but with no intimacy, I never really felt loved in the way I used to. For so long, I tired to just keep the pressure off, don’t ask for anything, and be happy.

I know I have a real anxious attachment style and all of this was really reinforcing it. I tried hard to fight it, but it was pretty actively in play. I’m working on it.

She left last fall after we got back from a big vacation. She took the time to sit with me and have a real conversation - but it was all about how I was the problem. And sure, I know I was part of it, of course. But she never mentioned how she was part of the problems, too. That makes me sad retroactively.

I really didn’t see it coming. I’ve come a long way since then but I feel like I have so far to go.

Recently I reached out to see if she wanted to talk, and she responded - asking what about. So I honestly and gently told her that I just wanted to offer a genuine, asking-for-nothing in return apology. I have yet to hear back from her in reply to that. Maybe I won’t hear anything. But it was a genuine offer of a sincere, mature apology.

I tried dipping my toe in the dating world recently and… it’s tough. I feel like a D/s dynamic is important to me, but I have no idea how to feel like I am over it enough to approach it with care and mindfulness. It’s still hard to let go of her. And meanwhile, this weekend I saw her dating profile and it made me feel so, so sad. Like it’s proof that it is REALLY over. And if I let me myself go there, it’s proof I didn’t matter.

I discovered she had been on various kink communities for our entire relationship, making friends all the while while we were together. It was never shared with me while we were together. So that feels kinda bad.

I don’t know what it’s going to look like to let go of this. It was so long, and I feel like in a lot of ways, it really badly messed me up. Somehow I will get there, but… ouch. Maybe someone has lived something like this before? I sure don’t want to live it again. I loved the highs, but I want to be responsible and self aware and have more capacity next time to be a mature partner. I am working on that too.

If you made it this far - wow. thanks for reading, thanks for seeing me.

Dom dates to friends? NSFW

tldr: had a good first date and got along as people but I'm not actually sure what he wants from a sub is what I want to be as a sub.

In light of my first dom date not going well (it went well but then he did not show up for the second date for reasons that I called BS on and he ghosted) I've been back on apps and connected with a few more doms who's profiles suggested we also had vanilla interests in common.

I went on one coffee date where we just talked and vibed as people and I was like wow we could kind of be friends in this community, that's nice. Instead of just getting drinks and figuring out sexual tension and chemistry. Now I'm still new to subbing/the broader kink and BDSM world, so I appreciate that having a no pressure date to just meet each other is good, though it is different from the way I judge normal dates.

After the date we've been messaging and getting more into kinks. I'm still experimenting but definitely most comfortable with basic kinks and keeping it in the bedroom versus relationship dynamics. I'm also kind of a brat - I like sass and a bit of tension that needs to be handled. Based on the preferences of this dom, he seems to prefer more of a service sub that wants to be used though does do the things I like as well.

At this point I'm debating if I want to pursue this as a dynamic just to see if I warm up to some of his kinks and my bratting is just a litmus test, or if we're going to be mismatched because he wants a sub that wants to be used. And if it doesn't work out, it could still be nice just to have a friend in the kink space because our vanilla interests and actual conversations matched up nicely.

I dislike oral sex NSFW

I don’t like to give blow jobs because I have a very strong gag reflex and I am not sure I’d be able to go down on a woman for the same reason. I am attracted to both, I want to play with both but I don’t really want to do oral. I also hate when people do oral on me unless they are REALLY REALLY into it. I can’t get out of my head. I’m nervous I taste or smell bad and it’s also not a turn on when someone is doing it just to “be nice” if you’re not enjoying it, I can’t either.

As you can imagine this generally does not go down well with new partners. (Haha “go down well”)

Is there such thing as "little space" without age play? What is it called? NSFW

I am seeking to feel small, delicate, innocent, protected lead, etc

Some activities that come to mind would be: nostalgic cartoons and games, wearing pink and lacy items, doing my hair, nostalgic toys, eating lightly and not too much, making friendship bracelets, coloring, sitting on the floor, etc

However, I do not associate this with being any age other than the age I am now.

Does something like this exist? How do I access this space and feeling? Does it take practice?

I'm locked into 'business mode,' and its not so easy to get into this space

I really miss submission NSFW

This is a vent post... I recognize that this is all of my own making, the consequences of my actions, and not something that will change any time soon. I'm just sad, and need to get it out somewhere. Advice is welcome.

I lied to my Daddy about something that broke his boundaries. I revealed that lie about a month ago. Before that, we were already having conflict in our relationship and dynamic... And he took my collar from me. I understand that lying wasn't acceptable...

I just miss it so much. I miss feeling safe. I miss being beneath him. I miss him hurting me.

Especially that last one, right now. I feel so bad that I hurt him. That I lied to him and it has made him so sad, I genuinely want nothing more than for him to hurt me physically.

I know that I can't submit to him again in this mindset. I wouldn't safeword if I passed my limit.

I want the safety that comes with belonging to someone. Badly. I want the feeling of love that comes with it too. I feel so unlovable.

Has anyone ever reached this place, and successfully returned to kink in a safe way? Will he ever be my Daddy again, or do I need to just accept that I can't ever be his submissive?

How do I get him out of my head?! Feel like I’m going crazy NSFW

I never even met him and we live on opposite sides of the world (which I feel like actually makes it worse, because he remains a fantasy instead of a real person), yet I still can’t get him out of my head, I feel so stupid.

He’s got a lot of responsibilities and his main priority is his career, he’s got a very busy schedule and he just can’t give me what I need. Not to mention the obvious distance, so it was never going to work, and he was always very transparent about how much he could offer.
I knew it was never going to be something real, but we had a very fun and playful energy, and a lot of chemistry. It’s been like 3-4 months since we started talking, so naturally I got attached.

I made the decision to walk away to protect myself, since I started to feel like I was just his entertainment. It was always on his terms, when he had the time. I felt like I was making myself too available for someone who wasn’t giving me enough certainty.

He says he understands, but to know that he really enjoys talking to me and he’s always there if I want to talk, but he didn’t fight for it.

I can’t get him out of my head, his voice is always there. I feel like I’m going crazy, obsessing over someone I can’t have. But he’s not emotionally invested the way I am, and there’s no future, so I have no choice. I want to talk to him so badly, but I would just be delaying the inevitable.

I’ve never spent so much time thinking about someone. We never even met!! This was my first dynamic, I’ve never experienced a connection like this before. I feel very lost and confused. And I also feel angry at myself for getting so caught up in this when he clearly could contain it in its box. I don’t know what to do.
