Think my husband will be happy?
Edit: Husband got home and saw the setup - he was thrilled! We're now debating what to put in there, so I'll update when we've secured the package. š¦
This almost completed terrarium build from a curio cabinet is a surprise for my husband, who has been on a work trip all week and is finally coming back this afternoon. I still need to drill a small hole in the top for the misting cord and add another layer of polyurethane on the inner part of the door, and touch up a few spots on the wall with silicone and substrate.
Based on some suggestions on a previous post during the process of making this, I think we'll be looking at getting either a gargoyle or a few day geckos as it's first occupants. I'm also hoping to find a couple longer branches to provide more climbing space. Thank you to those who provided guidance with this!

Anyway, I cleansed my eyes by taking pictures of my little eury girl

Arcadia T5 UVB Kit not working: Help
Just bought this and I can not for the life of me get this to work.
I've been able to insert the tube, rotate 90° until it clicks and is secure. But everytime, I turn on the switch, the tube will flash on for a bit then turn off.
Only one time, I managed to get it fully on, but then after a bit turned off again.
I also noticed that with the tube inserted, some of the pins on one side are still visible, I'm not sure if that's normal. See the pictures. Plastic feels a little flimsy, but even squeezing both sides inwards doesn't help.
Can't go back to the store for a few days, so any help is appreciated meanwhile.

I Thought He Escaped
I spent over an hour searching and crying my whole house. I thought okay Iāll search the enclosure one more time. Then I felt him when I grabbed the cork bark. Silly mf literally morphed into his bark

PVC enclosure recommendations?
Hi all,
I am looking for a PVC enclosure for my blue tegu. He is currently in a 8x4x4 grow tent and I am looking to upgrade. He is a little guy, about 2.5 feet long and does not use his full enclosure so I think I am going to downsize a bit.
I was thinking maybe 6x3x3. My upper budget is $1000 but I would like to stay around $700-$800 if possible.
Thanks!

Looking for advice on what pet reptile I should get.
I've been wanting an ackie monitor for a looong while right now but theyre incredibly expensive for me. I wanted one because they're super active, smart and fun when they trust you. I'd love to give them a good life by having an above than average enclosure, changing their bulbs regularly and providing alot of enrichment but I'm just not able to do that because of cost and lack of space. What are smaller and less pricey reptiles that are also fun and okay with handling? I don't really want a beardie and I'm looking for something atleast around 25 centimeters.

I know brown anoles are so common in FL but they're still charming goobers imo.
Saw this guy creeping on me on a walk.

Are geckos the dumbest lizard group?
Monitors and tegus are regarded as the smartest, but what group is the dumbest?

Mites??? found two of these in my quarantine enclosure
About to switch my leopard gecko to bio-active, have had her since July. Everythingās been great since tonight I saw two of these tiny bugs crawling, never seen them before. Does anyone know what they are or where they could have come from?

New lizard who this
I'm excited to raise up this little girl! Parthenogenic yellow spotted night lizard. She's already been much more showy than I expected her to be.

Salamander Time ends at 19:30
Cyrus is pretty much semi-aquatic at this point. Spends all day at the poolās edge (or straight up IN the pool and taking sips of water every couple of hours) then spends all night in predator mode. Two more days until a new prey release into the enclosure (2-3 dubia roaches, at least one of which are his favorite: full-grown adult males)

If I have both probe 4 and 5 being used at the same time, they both show an error that the probe is missing .... But if I set 4 to disabled then 5 works, and if I set 5 to disabled then 4 will work!!!???? Do I just need to contact customer service?

Corrosion on new bulb?
Long story short, I purchased a ZOO MED REPTICARE 60 watt Infrared Heat Projector from chewy.com (which I use a lot for my catsā supplies and always have good customer service experiences with!)
The first bulb arrived with what looked like corrosion, so I was able to have a replacement sent. I just received the replacement, and it looks similar.
Do these look normal to yāall? Would you use them? Any thoughts on alternative brands? Thank you in advance!

Picking a stand?
Hi all, currently I have my 18x18x36 on the floor but Iām looking to get a stand for it as my cat likes to sit on the mesh (no reptiles yet)
I mostly know fish tanks so Iām not sure what rating I should be doing for a terrarium. Thereās maybe 5-8g of soil in it, so around 10lbs (guesstimating), so should the stand pictured work? I can see a structural concern but Iām tempted to brace it after I get it

Scincus albifasciatus
Got some cool imports! North African sandfish skinks typically found in Algeria/Morocco. Anyone else here have these guys?? I only know 1 other person who does :)
Working on deworming and establishing good eating habits! Eventually looking to work with Phenome to establish DNA based sex vs just using visual queues.
And yes they are on sand now to help with the transition. I wasnāt able to get to the store before I got them in

Is there anything that would make a good free-roam pet?
Iād like to start off by saying that I donāt want to cut any corners and make an animals life less fulfilled to fit my lifestyle.
However, with that said, I desperately miss having a pet roaming my room.
I have grown up with animals my entire life, but with having started college I am technically only allowed one fish tank that is up to 20 gallons. I have a ten gallon with my betta and his tank mates and a little container with a boxelder bug that I have been taking care of.
Itās really not too difficult to sneak pets in here though as long as they donāt have a massive tank or make a lot of noise, and there is no terrible consequence for doing it. Iām posting on r/reptiles because Iām extremely aware of the fact that there arenāt any mammals or birds that fit the quiet qualification while being able to roam. I thought something like a tortoise or other reptile might, but I wasnāt sure what would need to be done for something like that and what would actually work best? Iām also open to inverts, but my roommate isnāt a fan of bugs so I have to be careful. I researched hermit crabs, but it doesnāt seem like this would be best for their welfare.
Thereās a pretty good chance no pet fits this criteria, but I thought Iād ask. Iām very aware that thereās no such thing as an easy pet

Here's a video of BoJangles enjoying his birthday "cake" from last weekend.
He only got veggies and greens for the next several days because of how much fruit he got lol. It was his birthday, he was allowed a little indulgence š¤·āāļø.
