Repair Help My 2-month-old Switch 2 is completely dead after being left docked for a few days.
I bought my Switch 2 in August. The console worked perfectly until now.
I left it docked for a few days without using it. The dock wasn’t connected to power the entire time. When I finally went to play something, the console just wouldn’t turn on - completely black screen…no battery indicator…
When I first took it out of the dock, it was slightly warm, don’t know if that’s relevant.
I’ve spent the last couple of days trying pretty much everything I could find online -
1. Held the power button for more than 20 second a multiple times…upto a minute even
2. Tried the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power combination.
3. Reset the original Nintendo charger by unplugging it.Charged it directly using the original charger for several hours.
4. Tried another USB-C charger.
5. Tried charging through both USB-C ports.
Nothing has worked.
When I insert the console into the dock, the green LED flashes once and immediately turns off. Don’t know if tags relevant.
I’ve found a few posts here from people experiencing similar issues. Some managed to revive their consoles by leaving them unplugged or charging them for several hours. Unfortunately, none of that has worked for me so far.
What makes this worse is that I live in a part of the world where Nintendo doesn’t officially provide warranty or repair support. So getting it fixed is going to be a pain.
I recently travelled to Japan and bought a bunch of Switch games that I was really excited to play when I got home. They are still unopened.
I’ve owned PlayStation consoles for years without experiencing anything like this. I genuinely expected better from Nintendo, especially with a console that’s barely two months old.
Has anyone experienced this exact issue where the console shows absolutely no charging indicator and won’t respond to any button combination?
I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who eventually got theirs working or had it repaired. What was actually wrong with it?
Any help would be really really appreciated.
