The Top 100 Switch Games to collect...and some honorable mentions and bonus titles!

Post image
243 Upvotes

Pack it up, we're done!

This is the top 100 games to collect for the Nintendo Switch, as determined by community votes.

There are some categories that are just a bit too stacked, so we added in a cheeky bonus section for some stragglers. There was a three-way tie for 10th in the Strategy category, so Disgaea 1 & 5 made it in as honorable mentions.

How many of these do you own? How many of these are you about to FOMO for?

We'll be back around Christmas to do a poll on the top games of 2025. Until then, happy collecting!

If you can't read the file:

Folks, this file is huge. It's 3456x2592. That's six square feet. You could use this as wall art.

You either need reading glasses or you need to download the file by clicking the three dots in the top right and then clicking "download" because reddit automatically compresses large images.

I usually try to not overbuy games and want finish the games I have recently bought before buying new ones, but I couldn’t ignore these prices I found on the secondhand market on the switch 1 games.

I was also lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of Lies of P!

Collection Paid what it SHOULD cost

Today was just another reminder for myself that patience pays off. From a local kinda chain kinda place in my town and about 4 other. (Those familiar might recognize it by its tag). Apparently I really only need this in my system once to get the switch 2 version? If true, I will be sure to pay it forward and sell it for what I got into it (if I go eBay it will be $35 x 1.20 to cover their fee)

EDIT: bummed I wasn’t able to find the big box version, but whatever. Anyone know if a proper physical on NS2 has been confirmed? It would seem almost off brand for them not to. At around 50 GBs, it’s too perfect of a fit. Do you ever wonder if they space digital and physical out to twist people into buying both?

Discussion Redart games purchase rant

I bought a few games from them last month that was delivered recently. And it required paying for shipping which wasn’t a problem. My issue was, one of the games was missing/was not sent with the rest of my purchase. Never got any emails prior to being sent nor afterwards, that the game was out of stock and would be refunded nor that it would be sent as a separate shipping. Messaged them about it and asked if I can get a refund for the missing game and partially for the shipping since it is based on number of items sent and weight of the package. I saw their reply about getting a refund on the game but it is not including the price (partial cost) of the shipping. To me, it’s not the cost but the integrity and business practice of the company about things like this that annoys me. I have ordered from them before but did not have an issue like this. After this, I would have to avoid ordering items from their site. Wondering if anybody had this issue as well….

Pick-up / Haul / Mail Day The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors (#623)

Had no idea we had this in the SNES era. Looked high and low for beat em' ups for me and my little brother to play together with. Never saw this at the store or rental stores. Loving this switch era where we get the chance to play older era games once again or for the first time.

STORY

A complete, modern remake of the critically acclaimed 1994 Super Nintendo classic, The Ninja Warriors Again (which itself was based on a 1987 Taito arcade game). It modernizes the side-scrolling beat 'em up for contemporary systems while retaining its authentic 16-bit aesthetic.

The game is set in a grim, dystopian future where society has completely collapsed under the iron-fisted rule of a corrupt, troll-like dictator named Banglar the Tyrant.

Banglar maintains dominance over the planet through a massive army comprised of mutants, combat robots, and brainwashed human soldiers. Under his regime, all public order is gone, replaced by absolute tyranny and military oppression.

An underground revolutionary rebel group, led by a resistance leader named Mulk, has been fighting a losing battle against Banglar’s endless military forces. Realizing that sending human soldiers into a direct conflict with Banglar's army is a suicidal endeavor, Mulk and a group of renegade scientists develop a desperate, high-tech weapon to turn the tide.

They build a squad of lethal, autonomous androids programmed with ancient ninja martial arts. Because these ninjas are completely robotic, they possess no human emotions, fear, or pain to weaken them on their mission.

The resistance unleashes these android ninjas into the dystopian streets with one absolute directive: infiltrate Banglar's defenses, slaughter his henchmen, and assassinate the tyrant.

GAMEPLAY

Unlike standard beat 'em ups like Streets of Rage where characters move freely in pseudo-3D environments, The Ninja Saviors is strictly locked to a single horizontal 2D plane.

Characters cannot run, forcing strategic movement, blocking, and spacing. Combat is governed by two major resources.

Armor meter , Represents your health. Recharging items are rare.

Battery meter, Auto-charges over time. A full battery triggers a screen-clearing super attack, while partial charges fuel unique special moves. Getting knocked down empties the meter.

The original SNES version was strictly single-player. The Switch version introduces couch co-op, though players must share the same health pool and battery meter.

The remake expands the roster from three to five unique android ninjas, each with distinct weights, combos, and movement styles:

• Kunoichi: The balanced, agile poster character who utilizes swords and kunai.

• Ninja: A slow, heavy power-house capable of massive throw damage.

• Kamaitachi: A swift, long-range attacker with scythe-like arm blades.

• Yaka (Unlockable): A heavy, multi-segmented robotic android with deceptive range.

• Raiden (Unlockable): A massive, screen-filling mech capable of transforming into a heavy blaster crane.

CONSENSUS SCORE

79/100 😎 (Critic Score)

74/100 😎 (User Score)

In Japan, the Nintendo Switch remake is titled The Ninja Warriors: Once Again (directly honoring the 1994 Super Nintendo title, The Ninja Warriors Again). However, when preparing for the Western launch, publisher Natsume realized that the massive popularity of the global obstacle-course TV phenomenon American Ninja Warrior—and its own recently licensed tie-in video games—could cause severe trademark confusion and search engine overlap.

To give the game its own distinct identity on digital storefronts, they dropped "Warriors" as the primary noun and rechristened the Western version as The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors.

The original 1994 SNES release was heavily censored outside of Japan, completely removing female ninja enemies and all blood. The Switch remake completely reverses this by making all original enemy types available globally and adding a menu toggle to re-enable explicit red arcade blood for human enemies. Not going to lie the art cover got me but looking deeper into the game, it definitely pushed me to grab a copy.

Pick-up / Haul / Mail Day How Argos delivered my Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave Dadgan Collector's Edition [UK]

No bubble wrap, and the cardboard box wasn't big enough, it only fits diagonally in the box so more susceptible to damage. Delivered by Evri who must have used it to play football!

It wasn't in stock anywhere so I took a partial refund (20%) from Argos.

I know Argos are typically fine but this was enough to never get a delivery pre-order from again, since they use Evri too. Collection from store is probably safer 🤷

Pick-up / Haul / Mail Day Picked up Hello Kitty on SW2

After seeing the disappointing physical release of Ratatan and RogueTrader, decided to get Hello Kitty instead. Has version 2.16.2 on cart; pretty funny how Hello Kitty got a better build on cart than the two aforementioned games...

Also, something that's mildly interesting about this release is the spine. Despite it being a "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition," the spine does NOT spell out the full text "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition: Friendship Bundle" or whatever. This is the only "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" physical release I've seen do this. Just thought that was kinda neat.

Switch 2 Switch 2 smaller print runs

I originally thought people were playing on fomo to generate interest in Switch 2 games. However, a few places such as VGP and the group Physical Forever have come out to say games will be printed less. I was in my local store today in NZ to pick up Oblivion and was told they have one copy of Lies of P left and will not be getting any more.

It seems to be no longer rumours but is actually happening, that games are getting smaller prints. I wondered what people thoughts are to why it is? Especially since Nintendo said they will continue to support physical.

Oh the agony of repurchasing a title when I already have it digital. It’s time to seriously start that process. I screwed up big time and bought all my favorite 1st party Mario Switch 1/2 titles digitally along with a handful of switch 1 titles over the years… and don’t even ask about 3rd party. DK Bananza, Super smash bros, Odyssey, Mario Party(s), 3D World, Mario Kart(s), Animal Crossing… etc all digital and they’re the most expensive ones.

I’ve loved doing this though and the friends I’ve made along the way. Game stores are very welcoming environments and I’m glad to retain nostalgic enjoyment within the community I started to visit (and fund).

As a youngin I did some extreme adulting early and lost all my games. Some of them given away and returned very recently including a GameCube and 20+ games from a best friend of mine this year (yeah I cried).

Over the years because of convenience and a busy lifestyle I opted for the short term satisfaction option of digital rather than visiting the store or opting to wait. Sony and my friends made me reevaluate back in early ‘26 and I started collecting so many of my favorite 3rd parties on switch/switch 2 to atleast have one permanent copy as so many of these games I’ve experienced free with a digital subscription or purchased elsewhere and no longer have access.

Don’t hate on my GKC’s 🖤 There’s a lot

Question Investigation: Stellar Blade Steelbook.

Post image
27 Upvotes

Those of us who had/have a pre-order for the Steelbook version for Switch 2: When did you order and do you you still have yours?

Maybe we can clean some insight by pooling our data; try to figure out what the hell happened here...

To start, I'm a confirmed cancellation from Best Buy. Placed my PO on 9/9/26 @ 14:21 Pacific. Got my cancellation notice 10/16/26 @ 14:23 and my gift certificate @ 14:31.

Additional info:

Target also had a rash of cancellations earlier this week. This seems to suggest that

a) this in an issue on the distributor's side

and

b) this may be a lot more rare than previously thought.

VGP had a number of POs become available earlier today, 10/16/26. They appear to have blown through them really quickly, of course.

No other retailers have shown as having the product available.

If I had to guess, the one group of pre-orders that has not and will not encounter any issues are the ones from Panax. This seems to be the official channel used by PM Studios themselves.

EDIT:

So the picture I've been able to piece together for Best Buy pre-orders is that POs placed at/around/before 09/09/26 at 12:30 PST are safe. That's the latest standing confirmation I've seen.

The earliest cancel is mine (😕).

That suggests that Best Buy MASSIVELY oversold. Luke, by a LOT.

Other retailers who started POs later are still standing.

UPDATE: A smart cookie ITT suggested going for the UK/PAL version. I got a successful confirmation via Amazon UK, but we'll see how it plays out. Be warned, though, it ain't cheap. GBP>USD + import fees are serious. Damage was something like $107...

Switch 2 Toy Story: The Switch 2 Game with the Ugliest Spine?

Post image
53 Upvotes

Let me first start by saying, it isn't that serious. I just saw it when I was about to put it on the shelf and said: "Ew." 🤣

Secondly, I'm not implying that the other games in the photo are ugly. They are just there for comparison.

I only have 17 other Switch 2 games and the spine on those look pretty decent.
