I'm not a big fan of Key Cards but I made the exception for these

As stated in previous posts, I’m not a fan of GKCs. However, I will make the exception for FF games as I try to collect all variants. CODE IN A BOX is where I draw the line.

These games are both on sale at Walmart right now, and was able to get an additional $10 off with the code DOUBLE10

I bought a limited edition of BOTW, and the box says "Not for Resale." I think that's legit, but I'm trying to identify the cartridge to make sure it's originally part of that bundle. Any help is appreciated.

Does anyone have the latest version of Mario Party Superstars on cart? If so, what does the lettering on the back of your cartridge show?

Got lucky with Metroid on Amazon before all the msrp copies sold out. Ordering from Amazon is always so stressful lol. Currently playing through the older games before I play Dread. Kirby and Pokopia I got for free from Dell with rewards. Told myself I’d only get GKC’s if I could get them for a good deal lol, second hand preferably. Found a CIB copy of Three Houses for a bit under current market price on eBay which I’m excited to play! Got Astral Chain from Temu of all places. Not the best discount I’ve seen from Temu, but half price is still pretty good! Already played through it and it was a lot of fun! Lastly, I picked up Nier and Collection of Mana during the Square Enix sale on VGP. I initially missed out on Collection of Mana, but they went back in stock for the sale so I was able to snag a copy. I’ve heard the switch port for Nier is pretty good and plays even better on switch 2! My backlog ever grows lol

First off, sorry if this has already been discussed. I imagine it's a possibility.

Also, this might not be the best subreddit for this question, so apologies for that too.

Anyway, I had a relatively simple idea: couldn't the Switch 2 use a system similar to how PS5 discs work?

Basically, the entire game would be stored on the cartridge, but instead of running directly from it, you'd install it onto the console's microSD Express card.

That way, the cartridge itself wouldn't need the high read speeds required by Switch 2 games. In theory, publishers could use cheaper, slower cartridges, perhaps even the same type used for the original Switch, while the game would still run at the proper speeds once installed.

The important difference from Game-Key Cards is that the full game would actually be on the cartridge.

Wouldn't that offer the best of both worlds? Lower manufacturing costs for publishers, without sacrificing the benefits of owning a complete physical copy.

The main drawback I can see so far is the 32GB limit of original Switch cartridges. Games like FF7 Remakes would still be out of the question, but plenty of others could work with this (hypothetically).

Welp, I'm sure there are more technical limitations I'm overlooking.

Metorid prime 4 is actually Metroid remastered but game stop sent it in that box. Currently playing Metroid dread and Metroid remastered.

Just curious if anyone got one! Or if they can share their experience with past in-store releases such as this one.

I chose my reservation for the tail-end, 2:00PM-4:59PM. They did sale “while supplies last” but I’m curious if I can get away with showing up at 4:30PM and still being able to make a purchase.
