Seeking Advice My wife is leaving me.
My wife is leaving me. I always thought this is what I always wanted but that it's here, it doesn't feel that way anymore.
We had an argument, a small one. But things escalated. This is the problem of always holding things. A small pressure, then you let everything out. This is what happened. And I kinda regret it. I said things, horrible things. I told her how I regretted meeting her, how she wasn't even my first choice, how I regretted marrying her and how my life has been miserable ever since she come into it.
We have had bad days, a lot of them. Especially after I lost my job. She has tried her best, but I have always felt some disrespect. So yesterday was the day I let it all out. I don't know how I feel, I can't explain how I feel. I somehow regret. 4 years with a 2 year old child is almost going down the drain, just like that.
Now, if she stays, things will never be the same, if she leaves, things will never be the same. I don't know if this is something we can talk about and solve. I'm just in a dilemma. Please advise if possible. What can I do? Married people of Reddit, how do you manage?

Did you ever meet your long term partners significant Ex
Random Saturday night question
For context, we have been together 30 years in 2 weeks, married for 26
Always been open and honest about our pasts and experiences, mistakes etc
- for me - yes
My missus was married before she met me, a young University marriage that was ill conceived and didn't last 9 months, I never met him (did speak to him randomly on the phone once at work after we moved in together, I knew his name and where he lived, he had no idea who I was!), but as that relationship ended she moved back home and eventually met me
However, in our chats, the big ex love of her life in High School, was a chap we shall call D (for dickhead), they were together 3 years and everybody expected them to end up together
They didn't
However after we had been together for 4 years, she was invited to a 10th year leavers school reunion thing, and wanted me to go but knowing he would be there so I was a bit nervous
I'm pretty easy going - if people are going to cheat/communicate then I would step away, that's how I am as it's going to happen anyway
Come the night we travel to the event, she sees people she hasn't seen for 5-10 years, we have a few drinks, her friends welcome me, I realise I know a couple from college
He walks in, with his wife. Is a Doctor, and is absolutely obnoxious!
Is passive aggressive rude to the wife about her job (is in education), gives me daggers all night, I just shook his hand and smiled, had a great night and danced, sang karaoke, while he sat in the corner sulking lol, we still laugh about it 20 years later.
Told her in the taxi he was a prick, she belly laughed
I had 2 serious relationships before my missus, and then 18 months of 'fun' before I met her - she hasn't met either of mine as one moved away and the other is a fucking lunatic who lives 10 miles away, but has met some of the 'situationships', one of which is currently my brother's girlfriend...(We all get on well)
Anyway...how did your experience go?

Seeking Advice The indifference is killing our marriage
Known my second wife for 31 years, been married 25 of them. There is a new issue that is slowly ruining my years with her.
In 2024 I caught her starting an emotional affair with a co-worker subordinate half her age, she was 48 at the time and starting perimenopause. More about this later. Her behavior changed so dramatically, I knew something was going on.
I figured out it was one of her new hires, I knew him from a bank event a month earlier. He was a good looking "pretty boy", which is my wife's nickname for young men like him. Talking with my wife, explaining that a 25 year old man wants sex and not a "friend" from her fell on deaf ears. She dismissed my concerns as "controlling" and "jealous." I'm not jealous, I will not stay married to a cheating spouse.
I went to the source and met this young man after work one day to talk to him. I asked him directly if he was cheating with her, or planned to, and what he would do if I divorced her. He told me she never flirted, but never turned him away. He took it as she would cheat with him eventually, and he had zero plans after he had sex with her. What I suspected.
I confronted my wife and asked for her phone, actually took it from her when she was texting this guy during our dinner with our son and myself. She looked upset when I started reading the many text chains. It started innocently, but as time went on the guy started flirting and asking for sex. My wife didn't flirt back, but she never stopped this inappropriate texting, she loved the attention.
I told her this was it, decision time. She could stay married to me, or move on to pretty boy and be divorced. She cried and yelled at me, told me I was controlling and possessive for not letting her "have a friend..." This was not a friend, this was more. I explained what an emotional affair is, the path to a physical affair and how she was walking down that path. She finally realized what she was doing.
She told me she would stop talking to him and that he was trying for a promotion in corporate HQ in a Midwest state, about 2,000 miles from where we live. He got the promotion and moved two weeks later.
She told me she would stop pursuing young men. She would focus on our marriage and our autistic son and be a better wife to me. She has done this, but here is the issue.
Now that I stopped that emotional affair, she resents me. I see it everyday, the indifference is so loud. Her passion is gone, she is committed to me, she hasn't shown any wandering eye behaviors and I'm watching, but it's not even close to pre EA.
I need advice especially from people that have dealt with this type of situation. I can't stay in a marriage where I'm not wanted, but my boy is autistic and I care for him much more than my corporate focused wife does.
TL:DR: I stopped an EA in 2024. Now my wife resents me and is showing indifference to our relationship. We have an autistic son together. Would love to hear any similar experiences for advice.

Ok for me to get mad over roses?
Over the years my husband has gotten me roses for different occasions which is sweet, of course. But I honestly don’t really like them. They make a mess, they take an entire trash bag to throw away, they’re just something else I have to clean and take care of. So I told him, a couple times nicely, hey you don’t have to get me roses; I actually don’t like them. But he keeps getting me roses. This sounds like a stupid argument, I know, trust me. But this last time he got me roses because he messed up BAD and I said to him “i don’t like roses, and I feel like you never hear me” which is true. But his face looked pretty sad. Am I right to get mad about this? Or am I being ungrateful?

Estou grávida e meu marido me humilhou

Seeking Advice Am I overreacting
My husband 25 m and I 27 f keeps telling me about he fell in love with a stripper when he went to a strip club
Every day he keeps telling me about the stripper and how she looks I kept telling him that it hurts and that is making me to feel uncomfortable. I told him that it makes me uncomfortable that he went to same strip club with his friends he told me he spent around $700 on alcohol for him and the strippers he telling me that I was over reacting and that I shouldn’t feel uncomfortable and insecure?I don’t know if I should talk to him again
Am I over reacting for telling how I feel?
I want advice to see if I I’m overreacting or that it shouldn’t bother me
He has gone to the same strip club and has been getting lap dances from the same stripper
husband (25M) went to a strip club with friends, spent roughly $700 on alcohol for himself and the dancers, and has been repeatedly telling you (27F) that he fell in love with a stripper, frequently describing her appearance. When you communicated that this behavior hurts and makes you uncomfortable, he dismissed your feelings, accused you of being insecure, and told you that you are overreacting, leaving you questioning whether you should speak to him again.

Fiancé tried to leave two months PP
Me (28f) Fiancé (29m) have been together 8 years. Last year in December we found out we were accidentally expecting. We made the best of the situation and now we have a healthy almost three month old.
He proposed April of this year and he claims he was planning on proposing before we found out I was expecting but had to push it a couple of months to save enough for a ring. Baby came two months ago and I quit my job to be a stay at home mom 3 weeks ago.
Fast forward to two weeks ago, I was letting him know some stuff his mother was doing was bothering me (currently dealing with PPA and PPD) , like she doesn’t have boundaries, kisses the baby in their face even though we’ve said no kisses, says things like her son is too young to be a dad and tells me constantly how to raise my child etc. I told my fiance this and he told me “stop talking about my mom or else” I didn’t respond because in that moment I was in disbelief he would threaten me when we are supposed to be a team. Well I let it slide and once I had a couple hours to think I let him know what he said was wrong and he responded “being with you is like being in hell and I’m here because of our child” I didn’t respond once as well due to me being immediately hurt.
Well fast forward a whole week we had not said one word to each other. I couldn’t deal with the silent treatment anymore and I let him know what he said was very mean and if he felt that way why didn’t he tell me. Well he pretty much said that he has been unhappy for a year and he didn’t say anything because we found out I was pregnant and he couldn’t leave. We had a similar issue two years ago and he packed his bags and moved out into his mom house then moved back after 48 hours of him regretting leaving. Well once again after this conversation he said he wasn’t happy because he felt we weren’t sexually compatible and that he was moving out. I let him know that him doing this instead of discussing his feelings is so messed up specially because I’m so fresh from PP and that he should’ve been open of his feelings specially before letting me quit my job and making me a stay at home mom.
Anyways a few days go by and I let him know that if he’s going to move out he needs to do it asap because it’s not fair to me to be around him and he isn’t even speaking to me. Well when I say this he starts apologizing and saying he didn’t mean what he said and that he wants to work on things and just wants to feel more sexually and physically connected. Told me he loves me etc. I gave him another chance but now I hold so much resentment that he didn’t care about my feelings knowing I’m suffering from PPD. I also feel like I’m never going to come first before his mom. And now I just feel like he is with me because of my son. I stopped wearing my engagement ring and have been feeling even more depressed. I truly don’t know if I can move past this and if I deserve better.

Guide for post surgery care
Spouses, if your partner has had surgery, and you are their care provider: aside from bathing, hygiene, etc- you doing things they would normally do is not "helping them".
You are RESPONSIBLE for taking over tasks and responsibilities that they normally carry.
Making them a meal is not "helping" them. Doing their laundry. Making the kids food, doing the kids laundry, putting gas in the cars. Paying bills. Sweeping the floor. Tidying things up. Letting the dogs out several times a day, making sure the pets are fed. Taking the trash out.
Those are all shared household tasks.
If you have made your spouse one bare minimum breakfast, done bare minimum cleaning ONLY when they've told you what to do, and reheated one set of leftovers in 9 days, you are not caring for your spouse. You are failing them.
Then when they say they feel like a burden because they have to keep asking you to do things- it's because you're treating them like they are. They shouldn't have to ask you to do a single dæm thing. When you refuse to step up and do double duty, not only do they feel like a failure because they're not doing literally everything around the house but they're not even getting cared for.
Do better.

The morning after having sex with my wife I am so horny.
I often masturbate the morning after sex. No matter how great or ok it is bit my wife thinks she isn't satisfying my needs that night before. This has absolutely nothing to do with not having my sexual needs met. Anyone else have this issue?

My husband says I'm lazy for not wanting to go to Costco
We are having constant arguments over grocery shopping. I am a SAHM with 2 toddlers and a newborn and he works full time so I'm in charge everything except making money.
I have always hated going into the store to grocery shop and its a million times worse now that I have kids to bring. Since Costco doesnt offer curbside pickup/delivery I've stopped shopping there because it is my literal hell to go inside that place with my toddlers and baby so I do pickup or delivery orders from Walmart or other regular grocery store.
My husband says I'm 'wasting money' by not shopping at Costco and says I'm lazy for doing pickup/delivery orders. Keep in mind he refuses to help with any sort of errands because he 'works all week so he shouldn't have to do anything else'. And I'M the lazy one right?

Defensive over everything
My husband (together for 15 years) gets defensive over everything I say. He views everything as an attack. He coaches soccer and has a new group of kids. I said he has a great team this season and he says- what do you mean? I had a great team last season, too. I can’t even compliment him. How do I deal with this?

I AM A WIFE!
Hi everyone. I’m a 31-year-old wife, a mom, and a Virtual Assistant. I’m currently the main provider for our family.
My husband works for me as an outsourced agent for around two hours a day, but I’m the one shouldering almost all of our expenses. I’m working two full-time jobs, and on top of that, we’re currently building our own house. I pay for the labor, buy construction materials every week, and cover our food, utility bills, and other household expenses.
For now, we’re living in my husband’s parents’ house while waiting for our house to be finished.
Sometimes, I feel like my husband sees me as someone who always has money just because I earn more than someone working a regular job. He doesn’t seem to realize that no matter how much I earn, it will never feel enough when I’m carrying almost everything on my own.
I’ve asked him if he could take on more work so he could earn more and help with our expenses, especially since I’m already working two full-time jobs. But he doesn’t seem interested.
I even suggested that maybe we should surrender our car for now because we don’t really need it. The market is just within walking distance, and we’re trying to save money while building our house. His response was, “Okay, but don’t ask me to go to the market to buy anything”
Honestly, that hurt me. It wasn’t just about the car or going to the market. It was about feeling like we’re not working toward the same goal as a married couple.
Most of the time, when he wants something to eat, I buy food for him and everyone in the house. I do it because I care about my family. But when I’m already short on money and he still has money left because he doesn’t shoulder the same expenses, I don’t feel the same willingness to help from him.
His debts become my responsibility. His problems become my problems. But when I have problems of my own, I feel like I have to deal with them alone.
And honestly, I’m getting tired.
Sometimes, I feel sorry for myself. I have a husband, but there are moments when I feel like I’m facing life as if I’m single. I don’t expect him to provide everything for us, and I don’t mind working hard for my family. But I wish I had a partner who would willingly share the burden with me.
I’m not earning a small amount compared to regular jobs, but it still isn’t enough. I’m working so hard, yet I barely have room to save for myself and my daughter or even feel financially secure.
Lately, I’ve been thinking that maybe life would feel less stressful if it were just me and my daughter. Maybe I could manage our expenses better, save money, and finally breathe without feeling responsible for everyone else.
And that thought makes me sad because I never imagined feeling this way about my own marriage.
I don’t know if I’m being unfair or if I’m simply exhausted from carrying too much for too long. I just know that I want to feel supported, too. I want to feel that I have a husband who is willing to build a life with me, not someone who leaves me to figure everything out just because I’m capable of earning money.
Just because a woman can provide doesn’t mean she wants to carry everything alone.
Sometimes, even the strongest woman just wants to feel that someone has her back.
Am I wrong for feeling this way?

In The Bedroom Husband unhappy with intimacy
M (26-33) F (27-34) my husband struggled with ED throughout the duration of age listed, so pretty young
For 4.5 years of my marriage I initiated sex and would get rejected. The rare times that he did agree it would have to be on his terms. He occasionally initiated. Ofc it wouldn’t lead to sex as he would go soft. He was sensitive and didn’t want to see the gp and the one time he did go, it was because I left him as he was throwing objects when I asked him
to see the GP. But the meds didn’t work and he didn’t want to go back
4.5 years into marriage and I suffered a UTI, i ended up in hospital and my UTI became chronic. I still had sex when I felt slightly settled but it would cause a flare up. I was in pain and noticed he began taunting me just 2 months in for lack of sex and initiation.
Anyway a year on I tried my best with him and would initiate. Sometimes he’d agree a time and rush off to his sister’s house. Other times he’d try and fail but keep getting upset at me and blaming me.
One day he said something very cruel when he couldn’t get it up and enough was enough. I told him to stop blaming me. What made it worse is he proceeded to do things everyday to get a rise out of me, so I ended up hitting rock bottom and not sleeping with him for 2 months. It was the blame but lack of emotional safety
On month 2 he shouted at me for lack of sex, I said it’s not the right time to discuss in anger let’s speak when calm. 2 days later he pushed me from the back and denied it. Two days later the same thing.
I went to address the pushing and he went quiet for a week and divorced me. He wrote this long letter about lack of sex and how unhappy he is. I made him feel unwanted etc. when I tried to reassure him he said I’m manipulating him as I don’t want the divorce. He also wrote I’m making things up and he is scared of me.
I found my diary recently and every event is chronologically written, how id initiated and be rejected, id be buying lube and he’ll yell like we going to use it etc for me what I noticed was the timeline of UTI and him almost taking it personally rather than I’m unwell, but everything has hurt me a lot. I tried with him, stayed loyal and loved him and this is what I got in return

Seeking Advice Is my husband punishing me by withholding sex?
I (26F) and husband (27M) have been together since our early 20s. We’ve worked our way up to having a good sex life. I think we both have the same sex drive, we used to be intimate I would say at least 2-3 times a week. But as our schedules got busy, we sometimes don’t have time for it anymore. Sometimes I feel like he gets a bit insecure when I get attention from other men. I don’t pay that any mind though, and I always make sure to make him feel that I love him. Now I don’t know if it’s because of that, insecurity, or I don’t know but recently he hasn’t been wanting to be intimate. He says it’s because he’s tired from work. So i totally understand that. But I don’t know, this is the longest we’ve gone without doing it. We’ve talked about it and it’s always the same reason. I don’t want to keep pushing though, maybe he’s just going through something he feels I wouldn’t understand? So I let him be.
But it’s been 4 months now, and not that I have a high libido but sex for me, is important. To feel better connection and affection. I’ve talked to him about this before he knows how I feel about being intimate/ sex life. At this point I feel like he knows that it affects me. Could he be doing this on purpose? We’ve gotten into arguments before, there are times where I feel he’s a bit of a petty person which leads me to believe he may be doing this on purpose? And sometimes when I ask him if everything’s alright between us and why we haven’t done it- he’ll say something like well I want to but you don’t initiate. I’ve been wearing lingerie, tried sex talk, flirt etc. but he always brushed me away. So each time I’ve kinda just backed of and felt ashamed. I know he wants to (tmi but he’ll get hard around me sometimes). So idk what to do. The way he’s making me feel about sex is making me feel weird and unwanted and like I just want to leave him. Maybe I’m doing something wrong ?

Seeking Advice Wife punishing me for something that happened a long time ago
TLDR - used to get off to a coworkers social media profile. Wife remembered and being cold toward me.
Need advice - will be seeking therapy but interested in getting opinion of others.
About 10 years ago my wife (then girlfriend of about 2 years) discovered my infatuation with my co worker. It was one sided and I never intended to pursue or make a move, but had this crush for a long time (over multiple years. My wife figured out I was getting off to her social media profile and when she did, she checked how long I’d been regularly searching her profile…. It was not good. She then thought of all the ‘casual mentions’, photos where I was sitting next to her, times I would act weird around her. I admit this always absolutely wrong - it was just a fantasy but it was absolutely wrong. I apologised profusely.
She said that it hurt because it wasn’t just a fantasy, it was someone I knew in real life and the fact that the fantasy was for one particular person for so long.
We broke up for a few weeks but got back together and didn’t really talk about it again. We’ve had a wonderful marriage since then.
However, last week my wife had a vivid dream about what happened. It was honestly like she had completely wiped it from her memory and she was experiencing it fresh all over again.
She says that logically she doesn’t feel angry at me, but her self esteem feels destroyed. She says she feels sad for the young woman she was back then who was just beginning to feel sexy snd desired, and now realising that she never really recovered from it. She is acting distant from me and says she can’t imagine being intimate with me.
I don’t think I really understood the impact this had on her back then, but now I definitely see a before/after in terms of her confidence in her skin and around sex.
I am devastated. But at the same time, I’m not sure it’s fair to punish me after 10 years of a really good marriage.
Somewhat venting, but also wanting perspectives.

In The Bedroom Kink shaming
I think I’m in the grieving process of coming to terms with my husband and I not being very sexually compatible. Every time we have sex he wants to make love in missionary with 100% eye contact and deep connection. I love that, but I also love rougher stuff and changing up positions. He’s asked me if I’ve been abused before because of what turns me on (like being choked, spanked, or slapped). He’s also gotten frustrated because he enjoys this kind of stuff too but feels it’s morally wrong to act on it and enjoy it and that I need to address my issues or “wanting to be used.” I am definitely kinkier than he is, and unfortunately it’s very important in a satisfying, fulfilling sex life, and marriage for me. I don’t know how to get him to understand that kinks and turn on’s aren’t a reflection of something being fundamentally wrong with me.

Vent My fiancée asks for all my time!
Hi,
I'm 25M and abroad and my fiancée is in Pakistan (21 F). We both are Pakistanis.
Our engagement was arranged by my parents and my parents showed her to me and I liked her. Her parents asked her, and she also consented and then it all started. In the start everything was just quite cold between us, but after some 2 months, we started to open up, and now the problem is, she wants me to stay in calls, even after an hour passes. Sometimes, calls can extend to 2 hours.
I am doing my PhD in chemistry, hence I'm required to work 8 hours shifts a day. It is a lot of work and I barely get time to eat a proper meal. I have tried my best to explain it to her in every way possible. I told her my situation and she always says next time she will be careful and not insist on me staying in the calls. But still the calls go 1 hour long. Today she repeated the same thing and even if she doesn't, she texts me almost 5-7 times a day something random and irrelevant and then tries to build a conversation.
I told her, "You are the most beautiful, I love you, I care about you, you are the first and the last and all that buttering", to reassure her that I'm not dating someone else (which I'm not doing), but I think she has her insecurities.
I tried to give her some work to do, like focusing on her studies, doing some courses and she started to do, but since her family is quite conservative (and I don't like them for this reason), she has quite less activities to do other than study.
It's not only limited to this, she expects me to do "efforts", tell her songs, and all that bullshit, which I am fed up of doing, since I don't believe in superficial love.
I can't sleep without calling her, and the day I don't call her, I overthink it and get worried that she will mind it. And she doesn't quit if there is a single day when I don't call, she also keeps on sending texts!!!!!! Things are getting toxic!!!
Now I'm angry and losing interest in her! She thinks that I have to accept whatever she says but she can somehow trick me into doing whatever she wants just because I'm a kind and nice guy (which I hate that I'm a soft person).

Seeking Advice When did you know it was time for a divorce?
For those who were married for less than two years and got divorced, do you regret it? I’ve been married over a year but I am currently finding myself thinking about getting divorced. I don’t want to but I have a sexless marriage. He is 33 and I am 28. I love him and he is my best friend but we are at the point that his job is taking over our lives and he just wants me to accept it bc he makes the most out of the both of us. Since we’ve gotten married we are only having sex once a month, if that. On top of his family pressuring us for kid (which I did want at first, stoped trying now) and doing fertility treatment and him not caring even to try. I don’t want divorce as I married for life but I don’t think I can live like this because I already resent him. I’ve flirted, lost weight, been understanding but he is always tired cause of work and we have this conversation every couple of months. This week I noticed that my resentment is so much I don’t even want sex anymore bc I feel like I’ve begged for it. I feel so unwanted, unsexy and all I do is cry. He sees me cry but nothing changes. I’ve heard the first year is the hardest but idk. Anyone regret getting divorced?

Vent Stuck and lonely
I'm in my mid 40s(F), spouse is late 30s(M). We have been married 14 years and have young children together. Things were great the first 8 years of our marriage, we were a team through a lot of bad times. Something changed around 2020 and I can't place what it was but things haven't been the same since.
He left his career field and transitioned to another one a few years ago while I've continued to grow in mine. It took him away from home for extended periods of time which left me to take care of everything on my own. I did my best but I did struggle trying to maintain the house, kids, and a full time job. He returned home full time about a year ago and its been bad since then. Hes had a few short term jobs but nothing stable or long term. He claims to be looking for a job but I think hes lying.
I make enough to cover the bills with some wiggle room but its been a struggle. I work a lot of overtime to keep my head above water and now I feel like I've been transformed into an ATM who cleans the house. We've had a dead bedroom for years now and a lot of that is due to his hypersexuality pushing me away and closing me off. There's no affection, which is fine by me. We are succesfyl co parenting roommates who can see otherpeople. Divorce isn't an option for many reasons.
I work so much I feel like an insomnia riddled zombie. I have no friends outside of a few text threads with coworkers. Hobbies no longer interest me so I doomscroll or play games on my phone. He criticizes me for not being engaged enough with the kids while he spends all day watching YouTube or playing games on his computer. He takes no responsibility for the house and anything he does he expects praise for like he did me a favor.
I'm tired of supporting my entire family with no help and a spouse who uses weaponized incompetence every day. He lies all the time over dumb things so I can't trust him with anything. I just want him to do something to help. I'm tired of killing myself working 70 hours a week while he acts like an irresponsible teenager.
It will be at least 10 years before I can get away and the thought of going another 10 years without someone loving me scares me. I'm tired of being lonely. I know a lot of this is my fault but I feel like as a human being, I am still allowed to have some joy in my life and I don't know where to find that anymore. I hate the loneliness.

I don’t know how to fix my marriage when I feel nothing.
There has been so much back and forth with my husband. He’s an amazing person, but there has been some months that just pushed me to the limit. I feel like I have nothing left to give, and he wants to fix it. I don’t know how to get out of the mindset of what used to be. It’s all I know. I’ve seen change in him, I know he is trying, but I’m lifeless. I know he is a good man, but all the arguing hurt me. Then it just turned into anger, and I’m not sure if the is salvageable. Can you fall in love again? How do I get out of holding on to the past feelings to move forward? I know he loves me, and I don’t know if I’m making the right decision. I know me. I feel like I’m just giving false hope. He deserves better, but he won’t give up. Is there away to fix a broken marriage? To fall in love again? There was no cheating, just a circle of the same fights. Please tell me if you saved your marriage from numb to love again. I don’t know what I’m doing, I feel nothing. But he’s such a special person to me. He is a great husband and a good father. But I just got pushed and pushed and now I don’t feel the want. I feel like this girl is gone. I don’t know if I’m just stuck in my head. Help me please. Give me your advice on what I need to do.
