I haven’t posted here in almost 2 years, my aRPG, Last Moon Demo 1.0 launches October 19! 🌙

Hey everyone!

It’s been almost two years since I last posted about Last Moon here, and the game has changed a lot since then.

I’ve been working full-time on it as a solo developer with an audio designer, and Demo 1.0 is finally coming on October 19. It’s been completely reworked with major improvements to gameplay, visuals, narration, optimization, new NPCs, runes and more.

Your Demo 1.0 save will also carry over to the full game when it releases.

Here’s the new trailer! Hope you enjoy it! ❤️

And thanks to everyone who’s been following the project all these years. 🌙

More than 15.000 hand-drawn frames later, our narrative deckbuilder finally has a nice playable demo!

Hey everyone!

My friend and I have been working on Stack Order, an enigmatic 1v1 deckbuilding adventure where every duel, transition, card, boss and cutscene is completely drawn by hand frame-by-frame.

The core idea is simple: instead of standard turn-based card play, you place cards into distinct board slots to create stacks that resolve sequentially. You can chain cards across columns, exploit boss weaknesses with tactical decisions, and uncover the corruption taking over this handcrafted world!

As it is our first game, we did the mistake to release a clunky demo, with unclear mechanics and not so enjoyable gameplay loop sometime. But after months of listening to player feedback, adding a lot of visual and audio polish and gameplay overhaul, we pushed a big update to our free demo on Steam. Needless to say that feedback are way more positive now and we're super happy about how far we went!

Check it out here if you would like to give it a try: Stack Order Demo !

We are a small indie team, so any feedback, review, wishlist, or first impressions mean the world to us. I'll be around in the comment so let us know what you think!

I made a game where you mow the same lawn for 18 summers while your kid grows up

Hey everyone! I'm a solo dev and a dad of 3 young kids. 18 Summers is a first person lawn mowing game. Each level is one summer in the same backyard. Between summers your kid gets older.

Mowing finishes patches of the yard and brings back memories and toys from that year. The goal was to make something satisfying to play that also shows how fleeting time can be.

The Steam page just went live. I'd love any feedback on the trailer!

New capsule art for our game — what do you think compared to the old one?

I made a new capsule illustration for Witch & Dragon: Hope of Elements ahead of Steam Next Fest, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This time, I wanted to set the scene in the sky, which is the homeland of the dragon in our game's story. I also wanted to put more emphasis on our two main characters — Elise, the witch, and Pipi, her little dragon companion — while giving the artwork a stronger sense of magic and adventure.

I'm hoping this version makes the characters and the fantasy atmosphere stand out more clearly, even at a glance.

What do you think of the new design compared to the previous capsule? Which one catches your eye more, and is there anything you'd change?

I'd really appreciate any feedback! 😊

I spent 4 days making a pizza, according to my 5-year-old

I'm a solo dev, and I've spent 4 days creating outlines for all 72 buildings of my incremental game, including specific outlines for each building upgrade. Some events also slightly change the outline of certain buildings.

They all come together on a village map that grows over time as you build and upgrade your village.

I was kind of happy and even a bit proud of how it turned out, to be honest.

Then my 5-year-old daughter passed by my work desk in the living room and asked, looking at the screen:

"Is that a pizza?"

So I guess I spent 4 days of work building a pizza.

But since she loves pizza, I'll take that as her seal of approval.

My solo WW2 tank RTS, Spearhead. You command, then press H and you're aiming that tank yourself

Hi, I'm a solo dev from Korea. My English is not good so I'm using a translator, sorry if anything reads a bit weird.

I've been making a WW2 tank RTS called Spearhead. You command your units like a normal RTS, but you can press H on any of your tanks and jump in, then aim and fire it yourself. Penetration is worked out from the armor thickness and the angle the shell hits, so a Panther that bounces everything from the front can go up in one shot once it shows you its side. That's the kind of moment I'm trying to make.

There's also a defense mode you can play alone and hold out as long as you can.

This is my first post here, so I'm mostly just curious what people think when they see it. Does jumping into the tank look fun, or would you mostly stay in the commander view?

Welp, today is the day. Just pressed the “release” button, and it is dreadful. I cannot remember the last time I was so stressed out. But maybe excited even more. Not even sure anymore. So here I am questioning my entire existence. Wish me luck guys...

Welcome to the casino where every breath costs money!

Hey!

In Spin To Breathe, space pirates are after you, your oxygen is running out, and a slot machine is your only hope.

Spin the reels, grab some trinkets, upgrade your machine, and hit the jackpot before you run out of air. Easy, right?

The demo is out now on Steam!

Disclaimer: Spin To Breathe is NOT a gambling game. However, the developer can't promise you won't lose a few hours of your life.

Today I launched the demo for 10 Million Pixels!

A few hours ago I released the demo for my game 10 Million Pixels!

It has been quite a journey this last year. I have been trying to sell my house for a few months to be able to fund this game, without any luck. Right now I'm borrowing money from my parents to pay the bills until the game launches or the house gets sold. I can't support myself at this point and I'm putting everything into making this game succeed, and I think that's possible with a bit of luck. Which is why I'm releasing it on Friday the 13th.

Give it a try if it looks like your jam! It's handcrafted and made with love and care, with music by Pulsewith, the composer of The Loopler.

Let me know what you think!

I'm making a game about running a little magic item shop for witches and wizards!

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo dev working on a game called Made For Mages, where you run a little shop that crafts and sells magical items to witches and wizards.

The idea is to start with a really simple setup and slowly expand your business. You explore the world, gather resources, build machines, set up production lines, and craft the items your customers order.

As you progress, you'll unlock new machines, automate parts of your production, and eventually even buy your own truck to personally deliver orders around the world.

I'm trying to mix factory-building games with crafting, exploration, and management, but without the pressure of time limits or survival mechanics. I want players to be able to do things at their own pace.

I just finished the game's trailer, so I thought I'd share it here!

I'm also working on a demo! I've already submitted it to Valve, and it's currently going through Steam's review process. If everything goes well, it should be available soon!

And I wanted to ask for a little help: if you like the idea, please consider wishlisting the game on Steam! As a solo developer, every single wishlist really makes a difference. It's one of the best ways to help a small game get noticed and reach more people.

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5254130/

I'm making this whole thing on my own, and there's still plenty I want to improve, so I'd love to hear what you think of the idea and the trailer!

Thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to check it out or support the game!

Adult VN devs: any firsthand experience with Steam reviews involving religious satire?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m working on an erotic dark fantasy comedy VN, and I’m trying to understand a specific grey area.

The religion is fictional, but its Christian influences are obvious: a central priest character wears recognisably Christian-style clerical clothing and sometimes takes out a cross. Religious satire is part of the humour.

All characters are adults, 18+. In the current material, nobody wears religious clothing during sex scenes, although that doesn’t remove the characters’ religious identities or the wider context.

I’ve read Steam’s published content rules. What I haven’t found is specific guidance on how this combination is assessed in practice, particularly under the broader offensive-content and payment-processor provisions.

For developers who have submitted comparable adult games recently:

  • Did Valve flag religious imagery or satire specifically? If so, what changes did they request?
  • Did their feedback distinguish between a religious character appearing in sexual content and religious symbols or clothing being used within the sexual scene itself?
  • Has anyone received useful clarification from Steamworks support before submitting a build, or were you told it could only be assessed during review?

I’m especially interested in firsthand experiences, roughly when the review happened, and what Valve actually said—as much as you’re comfortable sharing. Examples of games already on sale are useful context, but I’m trying to understand review decisions rather than assume another game’s approval guarantees ours.

A friend played my farming game for two hours and couldn't believe where the time went. That moment kept me going through 1.5 years of solo dev.

When I was a kid, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature on the PS1 swallowed entire afternoons. Years later in university, Stardew Valley did it again. I've wanted to make a game that does that to someone ever since.

For over a year and a half I've been building Crescent Isle on my own, next to my full-time job as a software developer and mostly live on Twitch. It's a cozy co-op farming RPG on a Nordic island. You wash up after a shipwreck and the quiet folk of Skarnvald hand you a run-down farm. From there you grow crops, get to know the villagers, dive underwater and head down into the mines. Somewhere in all of that is the question of what happened to the vanished Skarn Tree. You can play alone or with up to three friends.

It hasn't gone smoothly. My first playtest had more bugs than features. In the second one the multiplayer broke completely while I was testing with friends, and afterwards I spent half an hour under my blanket. I still doubt myself a lot.

Then a friend played the intro quests. Two hours later they hadn't even finished half of them and couldn't believe where the time had gone. That's the feeling I'm building this for. I want people to get to know the villagers and stumble onto hidden places, and then tell me "I played four hours yesterday and didn't even notice."

The Steam page went live yesterday. It had been "done" for a while, but I kept finding things that weren't perfect. In the end I just published it. It will grow with the game.

Which game made you lose track of time like that? I'd love to know.

Andreas

A year ago I quit my job to go full-time on my dream game. I’ve been building Commandlings solo for over five years.

Hey everyone! I’m Patryk and I would like to announce my game: Commandlings! I’ve been working on it for over five years, and about a year ago I quit my job to focus on it full-time.

This is me showing Commandlings at DevGAMM in Belgrade. After years of building my dream game, I wanted to finally share it with the world.

Commandlings is a real-time tactical RPG that combines creature collecting, building your own warband, and deep RPG progression. Before each battle, you choose your units and arrange their deployment. Then you control your Commander and fight alongside them.

You explore the world, recruit new creatures, and experiment with different combinations of units, abilities and equipment. Endless options to build your commander across 30 classes, hundreds of abilities, passives and augmentations! I am complete nerd for those kind of games and this is my dream game.

You can see the gameplay and wishlist Commandlings on Steam here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5136460/

Also my demo is ready so feel free to DM me if you would like to try and playtest it! Your feedback will be crucial and help shape the game for the planned release end of 2027.

Happy to answer questions about the game 😊

We’re building a 6v6 online game, and we’d love for you to be part of it! 🚀

We’re looking for alpha testers to jump in, report bugs, share ideas, and help shape the game. DM me if you’d like to play!

A small heads-up: our server currently supports just one room, so spaces are limited. If it’s full, bear with us—we’re working toward an upgrade!

I’m also looking for a short-term promotional partner to help us reach more players and fund more server capacity. If you’re a creator or brand interested in working together, let’s talk!

Thanks for supporting the project. See you in the game!

Ice arena is in. My top keeps sliding off the edge at full spin and I refuse to fix it

• Upvotes

Ice arena went in this week. Low friction means keeping your spin also means losing your grip, so the arc you pick matters way more than the damage you deal. Still tuning how much control a clean hit gives back when you land it. Building this one solo.
