Decisions have been made...our new AI policy.

Top mod and I have finally decided on some things and, well, it may upset a lot of people - and we understand why.

AI has been running rife in this group as we all know, and we've leaned slightly towards the "low AI side" while we worked out what the hell we'll allow or not allow and why, so we can actually moderate it fairly and with actual trainability.

And as we have been, and after studying what the other gametest groups are doing - it's pretty much clear what we have to do. Allow all AI.

Here's the issue: We're no longer fighting something that with good rules and moderation would settle into a rhythm eventually.

The right wording of the rules saying "No AI" as strongly as possible, the right requirements, AI spam hunters - it doesn't matter how much we implement, what tools and automod and AI-catching-training we would do with everyone. AI is getting to be too good and people will (and have been) lying to get their game through barriers, borders, and hunters. With some of my other reddit groups, breakouts of this or that "major" problem is normal and can over time calm down and be moderated out. But this?

...It's going to burn us all out if we keep moderating the way we are. This isn't a typhoon, nor a tidal wave. Not a war that can be fought with enough people, armor, and bullets.

It's trying to keep the rising ocean out of a city with only a few buckets. (aka moderators)

Seven buckets, 20 buckets, 50 buckets and wallbreaks with the most advanced towers on the planet - it doesn't matter, the water is still rising and there is no stopping this particular change in society without severe burnout of all the mods (me very much included in that!)

So instead of fighting the planet, the only way is to let it come and adjust things so the community self-polices, not with removals, but with pure spite. BUT we have to keep it Reddit-Mod Code of Conduct-aligned as well, and moderate certain things of course. Like extreme hate is obviously not cool Reddit-wide.

NEW RULE: No false claims about your game.

  • If you explicitly state something untrue ("100% hand-painted art" when it's Midjourney, "original soundtrack" when it's AI-generated), that's removable. But silence is fine. No one is required to disclose anything (for the moment, this might need to change if I'm projecting things right.)

NEW RULE: No AI culture wars.

  • Comments about gameplay experience: always allowed ("the voices sounded robotic," "art style felt generic," "really fun mechanic")
  • Comments attacking the developer over AI use: removed ("you're not a real developer," "AI slop trash," "you're ruining the industry")
  • Comments debating whether AI should exist: removed (take it to another sub)

--

Other Mod Policy Changes: No on Game Collections (Ex: Come play my 50+ games on my website!) and Yes on Tool Testing if its related to games; Like game making or like a heavily, heavily gamified app. It should be really be more game than tool, not just a stock app with leaderboard or cute character encouraging/informing people on self-care.

We are sorry that we are giving up on the fight against AI. It's either this, or shut down the group because not a single person on this planet can dedicate the time to evaluating *every single game* to find hints of deeply embedded AI. Or investigate all accusations with or without merit. Or know of all the AI things people use to make games, assets, music! That's not what any of us signed up for - we are here only to help devs connect with playtesters.

If you do not wish to playtest the games with AI - absolutely fine. We're afraid we're going to have to let you determine what is playtest-worthy or not from here.

If you are BRAND NEW to Reddit and want to post or share your game, read this beforehand!

Hi new Redditor! We're excited that you want to post about your game and have people play it. However, there's something you should know before you do.

Reddit will ban you if your first few posts/comments are links to somewhere.

Reddit has a robust, over-exuberant filtering system, necessary but for groups like this, it can be a slight pain. When you post your game and it's your first post, Reddit ASSUMES FIRST AND DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS LATER! You will be automatically shadowbanned, which means unable to post or even potentially comment.
Then we get a lot of posters coming to us in Modmail, asking " Why did my post disappear?" Nearly all Modmails are about this issue, roughly 3 a day.

Reddit is also a bit secretive about certain processes - how to get un-shadow-banned is not even really known to be possible. We don't see the record of shadowbanning at all so unless we know of the name and check it regularly, we wouldn't see it un-shadow-banned. We don't know how long your account needs to be open or how much Karma needs to be on it in order for the Filter to stop paying attention to you but we suspect around 100 Post and 100 Comment Karma.

So, if you are new to reddit and want to share your game - DON'T! Not yet, please go post cool/helpful/ positive comments and posts in other groups. Playtest other people's games here and comment on them prolifically. Once you have some "Reddit Post/Comment Karma" under your name first, THEN post your link to your game! You'll be less likely (but not immune, never immune) from being shadowbanned that way for sharing your game.

Edit: If AI recommended you post your game here....Don't Yet until you've developed your account as a good karma community member! This really isn't a "post and ghost" platform, it's community-first. AI doesn't realize this about Reddit.

P.S. This group is 100% responsible for getting accounts banned (when you don't do the steps above) but it's literally out of our control to reverse. So please....don't modmail us unless you KNOW you are not shadowbanned, you have the required karma, and yet your post is not showing up. Only then we can be of some help.

[PC] (Windows) demo for my EXPLORATION game just went live

Game Title: CATASTROFIA

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5063530

Platform: PC (Windows)

Description:
CATASTROFIA is a cozy walking sim set across a chain of floating islands drifting in the sky. You explore each island at your own pace, following paths, climbing ruins and peeking into hidden corners. Along the way you find cats hidden everywhere: napping on ledges, tucked behind rocks, sitting in spots only the curious will reach. Finding them all is the heart of the game.

There’s no combat and no timer, just wandering and discovery. Every island is built around exploration, with landmarks that pull you forward and small secrets that reward detours.

The free demo is available in English, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Korean and Japanese. I’d love to hear which cats were hardest to find and where you felt lost or bored!

Involvement: Solo developer. I did the design, level design and everything else myself. I’ve been a level designer in the industry for 8 years, and this is my personal project.

Game Title: Cross in a Box

Playable Link: https://crossinabox.app

Platform: Web

Description:

Hey everyone! 👋

I've been working on a little side project called Cross in a Box, a logic and deduction game where you connect clues to figure out who did it! 🕵️

The idea is simple: investigate each case, pay attention to the available clues, connect the information, and use your reasoning skills to solve the mystery.

There are 30 cases available to play for free, so you can jump in and try the game without committing to anything. And if you enjoy it, there's a new case every day to give you another mystery to solve!

I'm building Cross in a Box as an independent side project, and I'd really appreciate it if you gave it a try. I'm especially interested in hearing what you think about the puzzles, difficulty, and overall experience. Honest feedback and suggestions are very welcome!

Give it a go and see if you can solve the cases! 🔎

[PC] (Web) [Web] I made CHAINSHIFT, a free physics puzzle game where you build chain reactions — I'd love your feedback!

• Upvotes

Game Title: CHAINSHIFT

Playable Link: https://www.crazygames.com/game/chainshift?bypassCache=q1y70

Platform: Web Browser (PC & Mobile)

Description:

Hey everyone!

I recently released CHAINSHIFT, a free physics-based puzzle game where you build your own chain reactions using mechanical devices.

The idea is simple: guide a marble to its goal by placing ramps, springs, dominoes, fans, magnets, portals, and other devices. Once everything is in place, press Run and watch your creation come to life!

The game currently features:

  • 12 physics puzzles with multiple possible solutions
  • 10 different mechanical devices
  • A sandbox mode for experimenting freely
  • Interactive physics and chain reactions
  • A hint system when you get stuck
  • Desktop and mobile support

I've spent quite a bit of time improving the physics, controls, and overall presentation, but I'd love to hear what other players think.

I'm especially interested in feedback on:

  • Are the controls intuitive?
  • Are the puzzles too easy or too difficult?
  • Do the chain reactions feel satisfying?
  • Would you want to keep playing after the first few levels?

Any feedback, criticism, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

[Mobile] (Android) 8 months making a Brotato clone in Godot: my mistakes, my ads mistakes, and what changed

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

Game Title: Garlictos

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.garlictos.omer&referrer=utm_source%3Dreddit

Platform: Android (Google Play)

Description: Hi, I want to talk about the mistakes I made while making my first game, and the ad mistakes too.

8 months ago I wanted to learn Godot so I wouldn't sit around doing nothing. I wanted something simple and somehow I decided to make Brotato (realized how stupid that was about 8 months later 😅). First I tried to learn from tutorials myself, the game got somewhere but my coding is weak so I started using AI for help. My friends told me to use Gemini (also realized that was a bad idea a few months later 😅).

I released it half finished about a month ago and then noticed it was almost a copy of Brotato. Nobody downloaded it anyway. So I ran Google Ads with a 2 dollar a day budget and about 0.05 cents per install. And yes, you guessed right, welcome Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Syria 😅. Retention and crash rate were bad, so I tried to make the game its own thing and added an ability system. Now it feels like you are playing Dota inside a Brotato game, and this change turned out really good, I can see the people who install it actually like it.

What the game has: - 6 weapon slots, weapons merge into higher tiers - 17 weapons (10 ranged, 7 melee), 137 items (yes, here it is pretty much a Brotato clone 😅) - 4 different garlics, each one has 3 special abilities that are really fun, one of them is an ultimate. On all 4 garlics one of the abilities is for escaping, the other two are attack or defense depending on the garlic. All active, no passive - 20 waves, at the end of wave 20 there is a giant boss that fills half the screen. You can stop there or keep going - Every run gives rewards, and I'll be honest, I make very little money so I give rewards generously, so come early and collect a lot before an update changes that 😅 You spend them on permanent upgrades

Free to Play Status: - [x] Free to play - [ ] Demo/Key available - [ ] Paid

It is free, with ads, and the old thread I posted here said "no forced ads", that is not true anymore, sorry. Ads are very few. Forced full screen ad comes after wave 8 or after wave 14, and only one of them: if you watch one the other doesn't come, and if you watched a rewarded ad in that wave you don't get it either. Also sometimes one when you die and go back to the menu. None in your first 2 runs, 3 minutes minimum between them. Rewarded ads are optional, if you don't want ads you don't watch (revive, shop reroll, daily chest). So in a 20 minute run it is about 1 forced ad, sometimes 2 with the one after dying. The Supporter Pack is one time and removes only the forced full screen ones, rewarded buttons stay.

Involvement: Solo dev, Godot 4. AI helped me with the coding. About the graphics, so it's not "AI slop": I drew the rough base myself with a drawing tablet I borrowed from a friend, and the fine work was done by AI. I think the result looks like a professional designer made it. It took me 45 days.

Where I need help: I pushed 10 updates in 10 days and I'm still fixing the difficulty balance, but I think the latest one is fair. If you like Brotato please give it a try and tell me which wave kills you. It also still crashes on some old phones (about 2%), tell me which phone if it crashes for you.

[PC] (Web) I made a daily word game where you spin letters instead of typing them

• Upvotes

Playable Link: https://spinonym.app

Platform: Web browser (Mobile & PC)

Description:

Hi everyone!

About a week ago I had an idea for a word game and thought I'd have a crack at making it.

Ended up building Spinonym, a daily word puzzle where you're given a clue to a 4-letter word. Instead of typing the answer, you spin hexagon dials to line up the correct letters in as few moves as possible.

Everyone gets the same puzzle each day, so you can compare scores with friends or see how you went against the daily average.

It's free, works on mobile and PC, and doesn't need an account.

I'm pretty new to making games but keen to keep exploring the puzzle genre, so would love some feedback. Particularly whether the gameplay makes sense and if it's something you'd come back to.

Thanks!

Playable Link: https://www.gamedev.pl/play/unicorn-snap

Platform: Browser / WebGL

Description: The game is about making photos to a unicorn on various scenes. The unicorn acts differently depending how you paint her. There are 3 scenes: studio, Dover, and a runway. After each session you see what photos were good and how many points scored, and pick your best shots to the gallery.

The game was originally made for js13k games compo, and this is its directors cut version. People were enthusiastic about the idea and feel of the game. Many noticed there is a problem with controls and the end game. I would love to hear some ideas on this!

The game is available in English, French and Spanish.

It's best with 2-4 players (solo mode available for practice). All feedback is welcome : bugs, modules too hard or too easy, I'll answer everything here.

Good luck, and may the best defuser win. 🧨

Game Title: Monster Burger Idle Tycoon

Playable Link: Link to play in the comments!

Platform: Web / Browser (PC & Mobile)

In the game, you manage customer orders, upgrade your kitchen equipment, hire helpers, and expand your burger empire. But it’s not just normal cooking—you also have to deal with fun and chaotic night events, such as feeding zombies, catching thief goblins, and keeping your restaurant clean under pressure.

The game is currently in open beta on CrazyGames, playable directly in your browser without any downloads. Game Title: Canterano

Playable Link: https://canterano.itch.io/canterano

Platform: Web (browser, works on PC and mobile)

Description:

Hey! I've been making this game for a while and I finally released it. Canterano is a football career simulator: you start as a 16 year old kid in an academy and you play your whole career until you retire. You choose your transfers, how you train, what you do with your money, your family... and you play the key matches live (finals, derbies, title deciders), where you pick what to do in each moment.

There are two modes. Express career takes around 15-20 minutes and goes season by season, with a summary of every season. Full career is slower and more detailed if you want to go deep. There's also a daily challenge: everyone plays the same player with the same luck, and you can send your result to a world ranking (every result gets replayed to check it's legit, so no cheating).

Real leagues and clubs, and it's in English and Spanish. I'm updating it almost every day with what people tell me, so any feedback helps a lot. What's confusing, too easy, too hard, whatever you think!

[PC] (Windows) I just launched the demo for this roguelike forge simulator

Overcooked is a rogue-like couch coop playable with up to 9 players locally, but it's still fun with 1!

You start each day choosing which contract to deliver, starting with raw resources like iron ore and wood before working your way through processing steps all the way up to delivering swords! As you complete your contracts you get money to spend on upgrading your forge.

I've released the demo to start gathering unbiased feedback as I've only played with friends so far. Would really appreciate you checking it out and letting me know what you think!

P.s. I could only add one tag but it also runs on Mac and Linux

Game Title: The One Bullet Job

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ki10games.onebulletjob

Platform: Android

Description:

Hey everyone!

I've just released my second Android game, The One Bullet Job, and thought I'd share it here!

It's a turn-based heist puzzle game made in Godot where you've got one bullet, a room full of guards and some cash to steal. The aim is to plan your moves carefully, grab the loot and make it to the exit without getting caught.

What started as a fairly simple idea ended up turning into 120 levels across 20 chapters, with different guard types, daily challenges and unlockable cosmetics.

I also spent quite a bit of time building tools to generate and solve the puzzles, as I wanted to make sure the levels were actually possible to complete.

It's been a really fun project to work on, and I'm happy to finally have it out there. I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback from people who give it a go, especially on the difficulty and how the puzzles feel to play.

The game is free to download and supported by ads.

Involvement:

I'm the developer behind The One Bullet Job, released under my indie studio Ki10 Games. I worked on the game design, programming, level creation and testing.

[PC] (Windows) Game Title: Ball & Stick — My physics-based platformer now has a free Steam demo!

• Upvotes

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5188480/Ball_and_Stick/

🎮 Platform: PC Windows (Steam) - (mac coming soon)
🆓 Demo: Free to play

Hi everyone! I'm an indie developer, and I've just released the Steam demo for my game, Ball & Stick!

It's a 2D physics-based platformer where you control a ball and a long stick connected together. You'll need to use both to navigate obstacles, solve physics puzzles and make your way through a strange alien spaceship. An attachment system allows you to connect various different utilities and weapons to either end of the stick allowing different play time mechanics.

The Demo includes a single player level - The Core Reactor, a tutorial level and a preview of a level being worked on currently.

The game also has chaotic multiplayer action! - King of the Core, an arena where up to 8 players can compete in a battle for control.

I'd love for you to give it a try. I'm especially interested in hearing how the controls feel and whether the physics are fun to play with.

I'm the programmer and game designer for Ball and Stick, it was an idea I came up with about 6 years ago, I tried making it about 4 years ago but I got stuck on the mechanics of making the player character work. Now a few years later.. here we are! very exciting!

Thanks for checking out my game!

General I'm building a free browser football manager where the whole 90 minutes is simulated with all 22 players. Looking for honest feedback

• Upvotes

* [x] Gratis

* [ ] Demo/Clave disponible

* [ ] De pago

[PC] (Web) Looking for testers: drive an RC car with your hands through your webcam (browser, free)

• Upvotes

Game Title: CarTroller

Playable Link: https://cartroller.vercel.app/en

Platform: PC (Web)

Description:

CarTroller is a browser game where you drive a small RC car around a desk using your hands in front of a webcam. Your left hand is the remote: tilt your wrist to steer, open your hand to speed up, make a fist to brake, and hold the fist while stopped to reverse. Your right hand picks things up. Pinch to grab, let go to drop.

The stages are built around that second hand. Paper balls block the road and have to be moved off the track, holes need popsicle sticks laid across them as bridges, a battery stage has you drop fresh batteries onto the moving car, and a dark room makes you carry a flashlight while driving. Later stages add fans that push the car, boost pads, and lasers that you bend with mirrors to hit a target and open a gate.

Other modes: a boss fight against a cardboard robot, a gesture challenge mode with speed limit and stop zones, an endless collapsing track, ghost races, real-time 1v1 races with a friend, and a track editor where you can publish tracks with a share code.

Keyboard and mouse also work if you don't have a webcam. Hand tracking runs locally in the browser and the video isn't uploaded anywhere.

It's in beta. I'm mostly looking for feedback on how the hand controls feel: steering response, whether the fist and pinch get detected reliably, and what device, browser and lighting you played with. There's a feedback button in the game.

Free to Play Status:

* [v] Free to play

* [ ] Demo/Key available

* [ ] Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)

Involvement: Solo project. I came up with the game, designed the stages and controls, and did all the testing and tuning. The code was written with Claude (AI) based on my direction.

Description:
Fool — known as Durak across Eastern Europe — is a classic trick-taking card game I built as a free, browser-based Solana dApp. You can play against bots solo, join real-time online rooms with other players, or enter free daily coin tournaments — no wallet required at all. A wallet only comes into play if you want to enter optional SOL-prize tournaments or buy cosmetics. I built this entirely solo for Colosseum’s “Crypto World’s Fair” hackathon and I’m now looking for real players to stress-test it and tell me what breaks or feels off. Right now the focus is really the game engine itself — rules, matchmaking, tournament brackets — since the table themes and card skins are all getting reworked before this eventually lands on mainnet, so please don’t judge the current visuals too harshly. Feedback and suggestions of any kind are genuinely welcome.

[PC] (Web) Two major updates on Crimson Skyline's free web demo!

Game Title: Crimson Skyline
Playable Link: https://roguewolfgames.itch.io/crimson-skyline-preview
Free web demo

Yes, the game is inspired by Luftrausers and no it's not exactly the same.
This is level with predefined waves and bosses at the end. This means short levels where the goal is to go fast rather than infinite procedural runs.
Aircraft are also designed to provide completely different gameplay rather than modular.
All enemies are spawned from carriers and they're the main targets to progress waves.

Since last time I posted here, there were two major updates:
- Full UI and HUD rework + big improvements for all damage taken feedbacks and generally knowing if you're about to die
- Enemy AI rework: enemies no longer just follow you around, they fly more like planes, coming at you, repositioning, etc. This makes the dogfighting a lot more chaotic and fun (and was IMO the biggest flaw of the game)

Description:

This is a traditional game that dates back centuries. Historically, it had sacred significance and was closely associated with the maize sowing festival.

The rules of the game are pretty simple:

• The goal of the game is to capture and remove all of your opponent's pieces from the board.

• Players take turns throwing dice (in ancient times, corn kernels were used) and moving their pieces along a linear game board.

• If your piece lands on the same square as an opponent's piece, you take it "prisoner".

• Lead the prisoners to the end of your path to permanently eliminate them from the game!

At the moment I implemented three variants of rules and three AI bots with different strategies.

Have fun!
P.S. I like to develop unusual board games event more than playing them :)

Game Title: Pourdle

Playable Link: https://pourdle.app

Platform: Browser (desktop and mobile)

Description:
Pourdle is a free daily puzzle game about one simple question: how well can you judge volume by eye?

Every day everyone gets the same five glasses, each with an order like “Fill to 54%”. Hold to pour, let go to stop, and try to land exactly on the target. The catch is that the glass has no markings, and the target is measured by volume, not height. In a cone, a martini glass or a light bulb, half the water sits much higher than halfway up, so every new shape tricks your eye in a different way.

You can top up as often as you like, but you can never pour water out. The flow speeds up the longer you hold, and a few drops keep falling after you let go. A perfect pour scores 100, and every percent you’re off costs you points.

Some days bring special glasses: lava that keeps oozing after you let go, fizzy soda that foams up, leaky glasses that drain until you lock in, a turbo tap that gushes twice as fast, and choppy water that won’t sit still. There are over 80 different glasses to discover.

There’s also a daily streak, trophies, a full archive of past days, a practice glass, night mode, and a spoiler-free result you can share with friends. No sign-up and no download, and it plays in under five minutes.

[PC] (Web) [Browser Beta] I’m building XPGuess Bracket, a soccer prediction game—looking for player feedback

Game Title:
XPGuess Bracket

Playable Link:
https://xpguess.com/bracket

Platform:
Web browser — desktop and mobile. Available in English and Spanish.

Description:
XPGuess Bracket is a soccer prediction game currently in beta. You build a tournament bracket, choose teams and winning margins, and compare your predictions with simulated match results while earning XP through gameplay.

In single-player mode, you play both roles: Side A and Side B. These are two prediction roles—not the home and away soccer teams. You make your first prediction, lock it in, and then make your second prediction for the same match. After both are submitted, the game reveals the simulated result, shows your earned XP, and lets you continue through the tournament.

The game includes selectable visual skins, illustrated stadium backgrounds, and separate desktop and phone layouts. Team information, predictions, scores, and controls are rendered separately from the decorative artwork. Sign-in is required to finish creating a game session. The solo what-if mode described here is not a cash-prize competition, and its simulated results are not official match results.

I’m looking for honest feedback: Are the instructions clear? Does playing both prediction roles make sense? Are the controls comfortable on your phone? Can you move through the matches without getting stuck?

For bugs, please include your device, browser, and the step where something went wrong. Please do not share passwords or private account information.

I’m Michael, the creator of XPGuess Bracket. I lead its design, development, and testing using AI-assisted development tools. Some illustrated skin artwork is AI-generated. This is a working beta that I’m actively improving, and I appreciate feedback from people who try it.
