I made a game where you mow the same lawn for 18 summers while your kid grows up

Hey everyone! I'm a solo dev and a dad of 3 young kids. 18 Summers is a first person lawn mowing game. Each level is one summer in the same backyard. Between summers your kid gets older.

Mowing finishes patches of the yard and brings back memories and toys from that year. The goal was to make something satisfying to play that also shows how fleeting time can be.

The Steam page just went live. I'd love any feedback on the trailer!

More than 15.000 hand-drawn frames later, our narrative deckbuilder finally has a nice playable demo!

Hey everyone!

My friend and I have been working on Stack Order, an enigmatic 1v1 deckbuilding adventure where every duel, transition, card, boss and cutscene is completely drawn by hand frame-by-frame.

The core idea is simple: instead of standard turn-based card play, you place cards into distinct board slots to create stacks that resolve sequentially. You can chain cards across columns, exploit boss weaknesses with tactical decisions, and uncover the corruption taking over this handcrafted world!

As it is our first game, we did the mistake to release a clunky demo, with unclear mechanics and not so enjoyable gameplay loop sometime. But after months of listening to player feedback, adding a lot of visual and audio polish and gameplay overhaul, we pushed a big update to our free demo on Steam. Needless to say that feedback are way more positive now and we're super happy about how far we went!

Check it out here if you would like to give it a try: Stack Order Demo !

We are a small indie team, so any feedback, review, wishlist, or first impressions mean the world to us. I'll be around in the comment so let us know what you think!

Welp, today is the day. Just pressed the “release” button, and it is dreadful. I cannot remember the last time I was so stressed out. But maybe excited even more. Not even sure anymore. So here I am questioning my entire existence. Wish me luck guys...

We're making a cozy co-op game where you play as brave little mouse familiars exploring giant Swedish nature (with Froggy backpacks!) - what do you think?

A friend played my farming game for two hours and couldn't believe where the time went. That moment kept me going through 1.5 years of solo dev.

When I was a kid, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature on the PS1 swallowed entire afternoons. Years later in university, Stardew Valley did it again. I've wanted to make a game that does that to someone ever since.

For over a year and a half I've been building Crescent Isle on my own, next to my full-time job as a software developer and mostly live on Twitch. It's a cozy co-op farming RPG on a Nordic island. You wash up after a shipwreck and the quiet folk of Skarnvald hand you a run-down farm. From there you grow crops, get to know the villagers, dive underwater and head down into the mines. Somewhere in all of that is the question of what happened to the vanished Skarn Tree. You can play alone or with up to three friends.

It hasn't gone smoothly. My first playtest had more bugs than features. In the second one the multiplayer broke completely while I was testing with friends, and afterwards I spent half an hour under my blanket. I still doubt myself a lot.

Then a friend played the intro quests. Two hours later they hadn't even finished half of them and couldn't believe where the time had gone. That's the feeling I'm building this for. I want people to get to know the villagers and stumble onto hidden places, and then tell me "I played four hours yesterday and didn't even notice."

The Steam page went live yesterday. It had been "done" for a while, but I kept finding things that weren't perfect. In the end I just published it. It will grow with the game.

Which game made you lose track of time like that? I'd love to know.

Andreas

Today I launched the demo for 10 Million Pixels!

A few hours ago I released the demo for my game 10 Million Pixels!

It has been quite a journey this last year. I have been trying to sell my house for a few months to be able to fund this game, without any luck. Right now I'm borrowing money from my parents to pay the bills until the game launches or the house gets sold. I can't support myself at this point and I'm putting everything into making this game succeed, and I think that's possible with a bit of luck. Which is why I'm releasing it on Friday the 13th.

Give it a try if it looks like your jam! It's handcrafted and made with love and care, with music by Pulsewith, the composer of The Loopler.

Let me know what you think!

AI disclosure: No art, music, or sound has been AI generated. AI has solely been used as help for coding. 99% of all code was written with my own hands, and a few lines of code have I copy pasted from chatGPT.

A year ago I quit my job to go full-time on my dream game. I’ve been building Commandlings solo for over five years.

Hey everyone! I’m Patryk and I would like to announce my game: Commandlings! I’ve been working on it for over five years, and about a year ago I quit my job to focus on it full-time.

This is me showing Commandlings at DevGAMM in Belgrade. After years of building my dream game, I wanted to finally share it with the world.

Commandlings is a real-time tactical RPG that combines creature collecting, building your own warband, and deep RPG progression. Before each battle, you choose your units and arrange their deployment. Then you control your Commander and fight alongside them.

You explore the world, recruit new creatures, and experiment with different combinations of units, abilities and equipment. Endless options to build your commander across 30 classes, hundreds of abilities, passives and augmentations! I am complete nerd for those kind of games and this is my dream game.

You can see the gameplay and wishlist Commandlings on Steam here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5136460/

Also my demo is ready so feel free to DM me if you would like to try and playtest it! Your feedback will be crucial and help shape the game for the planned release end of 2027.

Happy to answer questions about the game 😊

How can you trust someone whose very senses may be lying to them? This is the premise of Psycho-Sleuth - our murder mystery visual novel where each of the characters has a different rare mental disorder

Psycho-Sleuth began because our team loved Danganronpa and Ace Attorney, and so we wanted to make a mystery game of our own without just repeating their admittedly awesome (and addicting) formula. While also making something darker and more thrilling.

The twist in Psycho-Sleuth comes from the 13 unique characters involved in this fatal drama: each with a rare cognitive disorder, trapped in a trial arranged by a sinister world-ruling cult... where the ones who get away with murder ascend to Godhood!

Here’s another quirk: those mental disorders I mentioned are contagious, they spread to everyone nearby, so one scene might leave everyone unable to lie. In another scene, a condition called spatial neglect could wipe the entire left half of the room from everyone's perception, or face blindness could make every face unrecognizable. Or everyone might go still and silent, almost as if they were dead. And many, many more mental anomalies will shape their course of your playthrough (through the characters who possess them)

You have to investigate each murder, then defend your conclusions in fast Debate Mode showdowns where you either accept a character’s statement outright or hit back with clues that disprove it. Wrong answers may lead to a premature bad ending.

If this has piqued your interest, I think you will enjoy the story that follows.

We have a free demo on Steam right now that covers all of chapter 1 plus the lead-up to the second case:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3753800/PsychoSleuth_Demo/

And if you happen to like it… well, we’re launching the full game next month, on November 5!

- Team PHOSEPO

I'm making a game about running a little magic item shop for witches and wizards!

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo dev working on a game called Made For Mages, where you run a little shop that crafts and sells magical items to witches and wizards.

The idea is to start with a really simple setup and slowly expand your business. You explore the world, gather resources, build machines, set up production lines, and craft the items your customers order.

As you progress, you'll unlock new machines, automate parts of your production, and eventually even buy your own truck to personally deliver orders around the world.

I'm trying to mix factory-building games with crafting, exploration, and management, but without the pressure of time limits or survival mechanics. I want players to be able to do things at their own pace.

I just finished the game's trailer, so I thought I'd share it here!

I'm also working on a demo! I've already submitted it to Valve, and it's currently going through Steam's review process. If everything goes well, it should be available soon!

And I wanted to ask for a little help: if you like the idea, please consider wishlisting the game on Steam! As a solo developer, every single wishlist really makes a difference. It's one of the best ways to help a small game get noticed and reach more people.

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5254130/

I'm making this whole thing on my own, and there's still plenty I want to improve, so I'd love to hear what you think of the idea and the trailer!

Thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to check it out or support the game!

Crafting in games usually means holding a button. I made a game where physical woodworking IS the entire game

1.9k Upvotes

Usually, you just walk up to a workbench, press F, and instantly get a table. In my first-person woodworking simulator, Made by Hand, I wanted to do something completely different.

The main feature is actually making wooden utensils and furniture with your own hands. You go through the full path: blueprint selection, pencil marking, sawing, lathing, edge processing, sanding, and assembly. A wooden board turns into a finished item right in your hands.

To keep the game relaxing, there is no stressful shop management. When you finish a piece, you just photograph your item, post it online for likes, and a delivery drone picks up the order.

Do you guys enjoy games that turn a single, detailed mechanic into the whole core loop?

• Upvotes

hiii so I've been making this little puzzle game in Godot called Scintilla and I finally think it's at the "ok I can show people" stage basically you slide on ice and can't stop until you hit something, there are portals, arrows, cracked blocks... and every puzzle you solve brings a frozen world back to life a bit in the video: the 3D home screen (you can spin it around), picking characters ..! yes the bunny is my favorite , the island map, one of the Extreme levels getting absolutely destroyed, the ranks and the shop pls roast it a little what feels nice, what feels weird, what would you add? any feedback or random ideas are welcome, even tiny ones >..<

A single wooden box used to crash my whole game...

Two years ago, one wooden box crashed my game, two years later things are falling apart on purpose.

Thought it was quite funny way how it crashed back then, so I decided to record it with the thought that maybe some day I might get the chance to post it and today is the very first time I post it anywhere.
