Promotion If Keep on Mining was made by Housemarque... this would be the demo.
Take the unfolding surprises of A Dark Room, add the escalating craziness of games like Keep on Mining and the arcadey goodness of Astro Prospector.
Layer in the depth of systems, visceral gameplay, and polished aesthetics that our players love in Reality Break and think of how Housemarque would make that game.
The public demo launched this week on Steam!

Upcoming Jiri Kara Simulator a new boomer shooter set in Prague in the year 2000
Jiri Kara Simulator is a retro FPS about the worst morning after of the year 2000. about the worst morning after of the year 2000.
You’re the groom. You wake up in a dumpster in Prague with no memory, a brutal hangover and no bride. To get her back, you fight your way through six districts of the city, each run by its own local kingpin.
No guns, just bottles, pipes, barstools and whatever else you can get your hands on.
Every enemy is a real person. We filmed actual characters from the Czech underground and turned them into digitized sprites, Mortal Kombat style, then dropped them into a low-poly Prague.
There’s a drunkenness meter. Beer helps. Until it doesn’t.
It’s dark, stupid and very Czech.
PC — March 2027. Demo at Steam Next Fest in February.
No generative AI. Everything was filmed, modeled or painted by people.

Upcoming After years of dreaming, I'm finally making the game of my heart - a shamanic action-platformer rooted in Siberian culture
I'm Eugene, an indie game developer, and for a very long time I've had one big dream: to make an atmospheric game that shows the world the culture of Siberia. Last week I finally released the Steam page for it.
The game is called Cradle of Winter.
Here's my short pitch:
Cradle of Winter is an atmospheric action-platformer about a young shaman walking through a world where humans, spirits and ancient legends intertwine. Explore an endless northern taiga, fight dark spirits and demons, craft amulets, and master the power of the shaman drum.
You play as Iniro Kotsen, a young hunter chosen by the spirits to walk the shaman's path. The Mother Goddess has been cast out of the sky, the World Tree is shaken, and the old order is breaking - creatures that existed only in legend are now pouring into the land. To restore balance, Iniro must find the ancient Cradle.
What I really want to capture is the culture of the Khanty and Mansi peoples - not as exotic decoration, but as something alive: rituals, myths, the drum, the songs, the everyday spiritual world of the North. Siberia is rarely shown in games the way it actually is. Cradle of Winter is my attempt to fix that.
A bit of backstory:
Production took me about a year, after another year of preparation. And I did it while raising two kids.
I'll be honest. I'm a pretty risk-averse person. I like my safe space. But this time something felt different. I was raising two kids, and every night after they fell asleep I sat down to build a world out of forest, spirits and old songs. And one thought kept coming back: now or never. In Siberia they say the taiga doesn't wait - you either move with it or it buries you. So I moved. I still can't fully believe it.
That's my story

Video Modern Berlin GTA 2-like game I have been working on (gameplay preview)
GTA 2 is probably one of the games I've spent the most time playing in my life. I've always dreamed of a game like it, but set in a German city, with something new to offer. Eventually, I decided to stop dreaming about it and started making it myself.
There's still a lot of work to do, and honestly, I don't even know if this project will ever go anywhere. But here's what I've got so far:
- City simulation: Day/night cycle, pedestrians, demonstrations, street musicians, pickpockets, club queues, construction sites and street cleaning.
- Enterable buildings: Around 1,600 locations, including shops, bars, clubs and other buildings. Some have multiple entrances and exits.
- Crime witnesses: Pedestrians can report crimes to the police, even something as minor as a vehicle accident.
- Police response: Police react to reported crimes and will pursue you. At crime scenes, they can set up police tape and clear curious pedestrians from the area.
- Emergency services: Paramedics and emergency doctors attempt CPR on critically injured people. Injured people can be transported to hospital, while people who die at the scene can be collected by a hearse.
- Public transport: Trains, buses, stations and railway tracks are part of the game world. Trains pose a danger to pedestrians and the player and can affect escape routes.
- Three gangs: Each gang has its own territory and missions. The player's actions affect the respect each gang has for them.
- Gang missions: Currently 18 missions involving the different gangs.
- Weapons: Firearms are relatively difficult to obtain as it is in Germany. But Weapons can be found at hidden locations or acquired through the in-game dark web.
- Home burglaries: Private homes can be broken into and looted.
- Store robberies: Stores can be held up at gunpoint, and their vaults can be looted.
- Vehicles: Around 30 vehicle models, with vehicle damage, garages for repairs and repainting, and a car dealer.
- Jobs and employment offices: The Jobcenter and Agentur für Arbeit are locations where players can find normal jobs.
- Berlin-themed locations and details: Kebab shops, kiosks, pubs, clubs and other details inspired by everyday life in Berlin. Characters use Berlin dialect.
- Minijobs: Various jobs such as working as a taxi driver are available alongside the criminal activities.
- Radio: Fictional radio stations are available in vehicles.
- Languages: The game is playable in German and English.
- Development: Made in Godot 4, featuring custom pixel art and an original map inspired by Berlin.

Discussion Recommend me some peak niche games
What are some niche/underrated games you genuinely think are better than most mainstream games? I want some actual peak, not the usual popular recommendations. Any genre is fine.

Promotion Souls of Bombarika: A ghost, a room full of objects, and a bomb that needs stopping.
You play as a ghost who can't touch people directly. Instead, you possess everyday objects and manipulate the room to save the humans inside.
Lamps, doors, furniture; everything can become part of a chain reaction. The trick is figuring out what to possess, and when.
We're the team behind Souls of Bombarika, and we've got a free demo available on Steam if you'd like to try it.

Upcoming You can now catch golden plushies in my claw machine game
This is my game Uncosy, and shinies is something I've always wanted to add but always deprioritized it, which I regret because it's now my favourite feature.
Interested in what people think, is it rewarding enough? It's the rarest possible drop so I wanted it to feel really special. Most people will only see ~3 of these in a normal playthrough.

Promotion My Yu-Gi-Oh fan made game is finally playable!
Hey guys!
Just wanted to share something I've been working on for a long time.
It's called Yu-Gi-Oh! Arena, a free 3v3 tactical battler you can play directly in your browser.
The idea is pretty simple. You pick a Duelist, choose 3 monsters and battle other players.
Each monster has four unique skills, while your chosen Duelist brings their own passive and special techniques into the battle.
I've tried to give the monsters their own playstyles rather than just making everyone deal damage in slightly different ways. There's a lot of room to experiment with different teams and strategies.
The game has grown quite a lot since I started, with tons of Duelists and monsters from the original Yu-Gi-Oh anime.
It's finally fully released, and I'd love to get more people playing!
I'm hoping to build a nice community where people can compete, share teams, suggest ideas and just have fun with the game.
Feel free to come check it out!
Game: https://yu-gi-oh-arena.com/
Discord: https://discord.gg/4bnff6ugw
THE GAME AND ALL ITS CONTENT IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE FULLY FREE TO PLAY!

Video I made a Micro Machines-inspired racing game to play with my friends!
Hey everyone!
I started making this little top-down racing game inspired by the classic Micro Machines on Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, mainly because I wanted something fun to play with my friends.
It's already playable, and I've also built a track editor so we can create our own circuits.
It started as a small personal project, but I've really enjoyed working on it and thought I'd share a bit of what I've made so far.
Here's a little glimpse of the game and its track editor!
I originally made this just for fun with friends, but now I'm wondering if it could appeal to other players too.
Do you think this is something you'd enjoy playing? I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth spending more time developing it!

Upcoming Typo Arena. My competitive typing game, to teach 10-finger muscle memory.
I started working on this game over 4 year ago, but I abandoned it. Last year I decided to finish it because I personally like the idea of an enjoyable game that teaches a skill.
The music interacts with typing, you play the notes when you write the letters!
You can try the game for free on steam, the full game is not yet released.
Feel free to ask questions and give feedback.
