SHOWOFF My First Harley, a '98 Heritage Softail Classic šŸ’œ

I bought this beautiful bike at 34.7k miles for $5,999 MSRP and $6,900 OTD, and I really couldn't be happier. It came with a mustang seat, Vince and Hines pipes, and all the other stuff that the FLSTC model has (bags, highway pegs, crash bars, passenger rest, luggage rack, etc).

I had/still technically have a Royal Enfield cruiser, but I'm tired of the lack of repair support and long wait times for parts for those bikes, and I'm already in love with the sound and feel of this Evo bike šŸ’œ

Went from a 96ā€ to a 103.ā€ Screamin’ Eagle Heads, cammed, tuned, TC Bros 2 to 1. Needless to say I love this bike. I know it’s the least sought after Dyna, but I’ve had a blast on this bike and I can’t wait for next season to come around. She’s loud when she needs to be. She’s my second bike and I’m glad I went this route. Harley’s just do it for me and even if I had 10 more bikes, I’d still choose this 9 times out of 10. Harley ducking Davidson.

SHOWOFF Just snagged this 2023 heritage with less than 500 miles on it

Rode fine without any issues. This Prospect Gold color was one I definitely drooled over when it came out. Looking forward to accessorizing this over the winter — exhaust + tune, EZ clutch, adjustable levers, seat, and color matched hard bags from Hogworkz. I would like to do a fat spoke + white walls setup too, but I need help configuring that so I know what to order lol

Weirdly enough, the previous owner and I have the same last name (not exactly common), and the sales manager said we were both in the dealership the same day on 2 separate occasions.

A little back story. I was in the market for a heavy weight ADV and was not even looking at an HD. I stumbled on the Pan America after looking for a GS or. KTM Adventure. I was worried about dealer network support with the BMW and the KTM, I test rode the Pan America and I was hooked and it came in at $2k cheaper.

Behold I had a 2021 PAS Baja Orange / Stonewashed White Pearl. I don’t need to go into details but the 21/22’s are well documented with issues. A year later it was gone in favor of a 2022 Fat Bob S 114 in White Sand Pearl(long story) after 4 trouble free years and basically living with the Fat Bob. Not that it wasn’t a good bike. It was great on every aspect of a cruiser. It just wasn’t the motorcycle for me.

After the Pan Ams went through several recalls and much improved reliability. I wanted to take the chance so here it is.. 2026 PAS in Billiard Grey. It’s good to be home.

DISCUSSION Am I dumb? (Heritage vs road king)

Hello, Harley subreddit. I once again come to you seeking wise counsel.

I have few sounding boards, and left to my own devices I frequently make erratic, illogical decisions. I’m trying yo avoid that here.

I have a 2000 road king and a 2014 heritage. The RK is my favorite motorcycle of all time.

I haven’t owned the heritage very long. It came without windshield or bags, so it’s definitely set up as an in-town cruiser. Which is why I bought it. But I quickly realized I like saddlebags and I ultimately like the ability to ride across the country. I also know I need different bars, docking hardware, etc.

Then, I recently found a 2015 road king that is essentially my dream King. I love my ā€˜00, but I wouldn’t mind having the 103 engine and the few other upgrades. It is also very beautiful. It has a tour pack, a few other tasteful upgrades, and around 13,000 miles. Seems to be in great condition.

Dealer wants $6k on top of my Heritage for the King.

I’m leaning towards doing this. I love road tripping. I love moto camping. I am always comfortable around town on Kings. So I feel like getting a dream version of my favorite motorcycle would be a good move. Then again, I also recognize it’s $6k and I’d own two RKs.

Do I listen to head or heart here, Reddit??

SHOWOFF New (to me) ā€˜09 Electra Glide

Picked up a Sportser 1200c a few months ago after not having a bike for a while. Loved that bike, but I spend a lot of time on the road hauling around a lot of photo equipment. Decided to hit up a local used dealer and drove off with this ā€˜09 Electra Glide Ultra Classic yesterday.

I have the touring pack. Just not installed. Don’t think I can ever go back from the bagger life now. This thing is fast, comfortable, and has plenty of storage.

TROUBLESHOOTING The streets just ate my fatbob rear wheel.

Post image

Hey guys, just cracked my rear wheel in a massive pothole. Looking to replace it but with a 17 x5 inch rim. I’m riding a fatbob 114 2021 and the tire selection for the 16x5.5 was abysmal. i very much preferred mag wheels.

Is there any older Harley models that run a 17 x 5 rear? Can anyone point me in a direction because I’ve been looking online for days and I can’t figure this out. The only option I see is to buy a $2000 wheel which I don’t want to do. I don’t have that kind of money but a three to $500 used wheel would be just fine. Here’s a pic for exposure I guess.

I’m torn between keeping my 2004 dyna fxdxi and selling it and getting a new 2026 low rider st I get mixed reviews but i really love this bike put a lot of time and money into it a lot of old timers tell me not to get rid of it because they are getting harder to come by but my bike is 22. Years old with that comes wear and tear sometimes I feel like the amount of money I have put into it I could have already gotten a new bike just did 1500 miles to Reno street vibrations on it my fuel pump gave out

TROUBLESHOOTING Caliper leak

• Upvotes

Need some help. I have a 02 lowrider with a leaking rear caliper. The fluid weeps out around the threads of the bleeder screw. Was wondering if anyone has had experience with this. I have tried replacing the bleeder. Checking everything I can possibly think of. I bought a used one (since cant seem to find new ones) and it does the exact same thing.

I am thinking the actual caliper is cracked somewhere within the threads.

Also to add, it is weeping at the threads not the center of the bleeder.

What would you guys do about this? I have a 4 month old 2026 low rider s with 2k miles on it and I picked up a staple and now the tires going flat. The dealer said $600 to replace it. I keep hearing don't patch it, just replace it, and of course the dealer said the same thing. I just want to be sure you all think the same thing before I spend $600 I don't need to.

HELP Want a Lowrider S, but the seating position is killing me. HALP.

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've been eyeballing Harleys in general and Lowrider S in particular. And I think now is the time. But... On paper based pure on specs - Lowrider S is probably the best bike for me from the whole Harley line. And I'm not a tall guy, just mere 5'10. But the seating position on lowrider is killing me. Somehow seat angles me backwards with no back support so I basically have to haul myself forward with my hands. I tried praised Le Pera and Saddlemen "flybacks" in hope to get some back support - same effect. I've watched tones of lowrider reviews and no one really mentioned that. Am I the only one who feels it? Has anyone found a seat or setup that actually stops the rearward lean on a Lowrider S?

Thank you guys!

DISCUSSION Let's see your old beat up ugly Harleys and yell us the stories behind them?

Sure we all see and admire well maintained beauty queens, but don't you love when you see a Harley with torn up seats and grips that has clearly been owned by someone too busy riding to keep it pretty, and wonder about the stories behind that ride? Bikes that look like they have been to hell and back? If you got one, please tell us about it.

TROUBLESHOOTING Any suggestions?

My friends 2016 Iron 883 started making this noise after hitting a pot hole. I can feel exhaust gasses, so there is definitely a leak but the clicking sounds like its coming from the head.

DISCUSSION Recommended Heated Grips

I bought my Harley 2017 Road Glide Special in April. First Harley since 2014 and probably have put 7000 miles on it since then. Love my ride and want to go as long as possible. But now its getting cold, my chest and head are fine as I use a full face helmet and a hoodie with a leather jacket on top which stops all the wind. However, my hands and legs are getting cold, and even worse on the interstate. So to start, what are some heated grips yall would recommend, or stay away from. Are there other recommendations to keep hands warm (and legs if you have suggestions) outside of heated grips?

DISCUSSION Question:

Recently my voltage regulator went out on my 2008 Road King. It actually swelled up and cracked. I replaced it and the bike is working just fine. The stator checked out good as well with volt meter test. My question is, would you just replace the stator or do voltage regulators just go bad?

Been riding for 10+ years now but never owned a Harley prior to yesterday. Fell in love with this beautiful bike. Found it on Marketplace! 2005 Hertiage Softail with 15K miles. It purs so wonderful. My mother hasn't been on a Harley in nearly 40 years. Due to some possible unfortunate health issues, it may be her last ride but hopefully not. Regardless, the screams of joy she did yesterday was priceless! That memory will last much longer than this bike will ever!

I know lots of guys don’t like these. My kids can’t seem to not scratch my lids getting on and off. I’m not getting any younger or flexible either. I love how they look though they were a bitch to install having to stretch the vinyl over them.
