Hey, y'all know about Recursive Fanfiction, right? Fanfiction of Fanfiction; I've heard people say they're fine with the concept, but a thought randomly occurred to me: what OC's more specifically? What would you think of someone writing fanfiction of your OC? How would you feel if someone wrote a fanfic where your OC, that you wrote an intricate backstory for, with fanart to boot, is making out with someone else's OC? Would you approve of it or not?

Whether it be just updating your fic, or reaching some sort of milestone, it deserves to be celebrated. So, leave it here and let us see hype you up. I do encourage you to read other’s comments too

My big multi chapter that I wrote this summer, which for reasons I had in my head was going to be this major flop, just became my first ever fanfic to reach 900 kudos.

I 'm looking for fics where strong characters try desperatly not to cry because they are ashamed/ embarased about crying and someone tells it 's okay to cry . Holding them in the arms or Stroking their hair . Tissue offered .

Or fics where character B stumbles on Strong Character A crying. Character B being shocked and A being embarased . Character A trying to hide it or try to force themselves to stop crying . Muffled sobs

Bonus if it involves omorashi / diapers .

I think it's also because I'm part of a big fandom, but a ship i write for has virtually no content (admittedly it's actually a crack ship). It only has 5 fics on ao3 with 4 of them from me; well, I just checked my stats again for my longform for that fic and i passed 5k hits and 500 kudos! The fic has been up ever since 2024 and still updates to this day, so I don't think it's from bots at least, and up til now gets nice comments!

So I'm writing a Canon/OC fic currently, and it's in first person POV from the perspective of the OC. I recently saw many MANY people talking about how 1st is bad because it makes the character seem ooc, but for an OC fic is it better or worse than canon 3rd? I just saw so many people saying they skip 1st person every time, which is a little discouraging to me.

Also Chun Li x Cammy was prominent and hot af too and I’d love some fic recs for them as well🙏

But omg fr this movie was so fucking good and I don’t even like movies like this but I saw it for my bf who is a huge fan of the game and he fucking loved it and also agreed it was the gayest fucking film ever. Like they cut to credits with the song ‘it’s raining men’😭😭 and it felt like every scene they were trying to one up themselves and see how much gayer they could make it without just making them all kiss already omg. I stg at one point Ken literally was wearing the pan flag too.

So a funny(?) Thing happened to me and I have no one to talk to about it 😭

By accident I found out my roommate wears ...a certain type of underwear...and also know the color of it, she doesn't know I know and I want to keep it that way.

A few weeks ago I started this fic where the couple are roommates in college, literally my situation, I didn't thought much about it mainly because I don't see my roommate that way. I got to a part of the fic where one of them discovers lingerie from the other and the memory just came back to me, its worse because the description is the exact same 🫪 it felt just too familiar, I stopped reading right after that, until today, and still couldn't read it and to top that my brain decided to remember the fic when I was hanging out with my roommate today.

So yeah, not touching that story for a loooong time, or maybe just drop it.

I know we have to write for ourselves and savor the process but holy shit dude it’s fucking miserable. I never expect a fic to get like 40,000 hits but double fucking digits would be okay. Hell, this is a crack ship/crossover so I figured I’d get 80 or so hits but come the fuck on. I know there’s an audience-the TikTok vid that inspired me had 40k views and 6k likes, and the author of it cheered me on, but SHIT man, do I feel rugpulled.

Frankly, I’m depressed and ashamed.

This is kind of a venting and a cry for help. I realized that for at least a few months I've been stuck at 45 kudos and without any comments on my main fanfic. I know this sounds silly, but I'm already past 6 chapters and 500 hits, but only that, 45 kudos and 11 comments (Some of them are mine, which is why I always answer everyone).

I just want to know, what am I doing wrong? Am I writing badly? Am I not captivating anyone? Seriously, all my friends who read it say it's good, but I don't see that reflected in the statistics.

Virtually no kudos and no comments since I started writing again. I know I was gone for 3 years, but I came back and started posting everywhere, and still I don't feel any difference.

I love writing and want to continue, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I just wanted any kind of interaction, seriously.

Not a promotion, but a question. I’m writing a Godzilla fanfiction set in the Bible. I’m currently on chapter 3 part 2 of the antediluvian time period. He’s going around and fighting nephilim but I also want him to not just be constantly fighting things. It’s Been 600 years since he and his fellow Kaiju were kicked from the garden of Eden.

What things would better set the world and make it alive for Godzilla since he’s mainly been roaming the desert. The Kaiju all went their separate ways and it’s just him walking alone.

I’m stumped and I want to breathe more life into my work. What do I do?

Like, they get sent to world A, and due to events later get sent to world B, where the story starts, and we might see a bit of what they did in the first world in some flashbacks while we see how they deal with now being in the second world.

For example, say a guy gets thrown into the MCU, and after learning sorcery and running from the TVA winds up in Young Justice, where the story starts and we see them use what they got in the MCU to make an impact on Young Justice. Note, this isn’t an actual fic, this is just a random thought I had as an example.

I wrote a lot of fanfic in a fandom I left many many years ago. I wrote them 20-25 years ago, a lot of them never finished. 99% of them were removed from ff.net during the many purges and I never bothered uploading them again.

I still have the original documents on my PC.

Yesterday I was looking at a couple of them and they... not good lol I was a teenager, still learning English, dabbling in edgy topics and smut and they're wildly OC. Basically, incredibly cringe.

But it's still hundreds of thousands of words I spent literal years writing.

It's a massive and older fandom, but it's not popular on AO3, and the ship and characters have like 20 fics on AO3. I don't want to flood the tag with old and crappy fics. But who knows, maybe someone will find one of them and realize they read it back then?

I thought about posting and orphaning. I thought about making a new account for them. I thought about just uploading them anonymously and just forget about them.

But reading through some of them... I definitely don't want my name attached to them anymore. But I'm not sure if I should post them at all.

What do you guys think I should do?

I've been looking for ages for some fic of DIO Brando and Doflamingo, idc if it's fluff, smut, I DON'T CARE, i just wanna read about this crackship.

The fanfic is of Amity is forced to live with Boscha after her parents die. Luz has to rescue Amity from the abusive home. The characters are Amity, Luz, Boscha, Eda, Lilith and Principal Bump. I don’t remember who the author is.

I'm writing a re-write of the series Supernatural, and because of a timeline change, as I rewrite certain cases, the settings and dates change. So that means the case I'm writing has switched locations from St. Louis, which I'm actually very familiar with, to Philadelphia, which I have visited, but that's it. I rework the cases and often try to incorporate real historical details that either support this case, or at the least, don't disagree. I like fleshing out the backstory, and it's how I make the rewrites more interesting. Researching Philadelphia has been a joy, it's a great fit for my needs, but I have one question for Philly residents, or people who used to be, or live nearby.

How much do you know about the two prison breakouts in 1945 and 1947? There's an old decommissioned prison where I live, and most residents know at least a little of it's history, but my city is much smaller and much younger than Philadelphia. There literally aren't as many interesting places in my town, so it makes sense everyone knows about the one big interesting place. So something like that would be deeply entrenched in my town's lore, but I don't want to assume Philadephia is the same way. If it helps, they would be talking to residents in West Philadelphia.

The story is set in 2007, and I'm trying to determine if an average resident, in casual conversation, when asked about local lore and history, might bring up the prison escapes. The chapter and investigation in general is already set to be bigger, so if it's reasonable that lots of locals might bring up the same history, the boys would skip straight to that avenue of investigation, instead of Philadelphia's history in general. My readers know I try very hard to work in real history when possible, and it's not unusual for them to look into the facts I've weaved into a case's backstory.

I'd really appreciate any input. I tried over at writer research, but someone told me to just make the character know what they needed to know (which I thought odd in a research sub).

I don't want to write about how this job works in my fic, i just don't want to make it too inaccurate because like if I want to write about a character being a blacksmith I don't want a phd in blacksmithing. Just want enough info so that I can name things accurately and actions and whatever else.

The plotline involved i think member A moving in with member B. Then one day member A walks in on the member B with having sex with someone on the couch.

The person is very physically different than member B, causing member A to think they aren't member Bs type.

That person turns out to be a sex worker, and some point later member B says something along the lines of 'well I could get with someone exactly like you now could I'
