It's almost like payroll doesn't guarantee a win, for all the Dodgers' haters out there. Guess baseball isn't ruined after all. Imagine that.

I was going to do '20 on the thumb but wanted to stick with the back-to-back theme while remaining hopeful for next year lol.

I'm so freaking tired of listening to crappy teams complain that large market teams just buy championships. I mean i still have not forgotten the 32 years between 88 and 20.
But this year every team playing in the league championships are from the lower half of the team payroll rankings accept the dodgers and we got swept.
The world series is now a battle between two small markets ranked 17th and 19th in payroll sizes and both teams legitimately won their divisions and leagues.
So for the 13 other teams in the bottom half of payrolls, stop bitching about fairness. If you can't win its because your team and front office just suck. It's your own damn faults not the market.

How awful is the âbestâ feature, the default layout for browsing, particularly when it comes to sports? Normally, you just get fed some way out of date posts about some game that happened days ago - but with your team getting eliminated in the playoffs itâs so much worse. Reddit just greeting me with week old hopium posts about the Dodgers coming back in the NLCS , etc. just brutal.
Anyone else annoyed by this? Is there really no way to change the default from âbestâ which is actually the fucking worst???

With our season over, there is not as many posts so just thought that I would throw something out there. This is a player that perhaps we can keep an eye out for the future.
Kim Do Yeong is a Korean player, who plays 3B currently on the Kia Tigers in the KBO. He is eligible to be posted in either the 2028 or 2029 season.
The reason I bring him up is because Max Muncy's, our current Dodgers beloved 3B, contract ends in 2028. There is a club option for that season, and he will become a free agent in 2029. Max Muncy was born in 1990 and is 36 this year, in August of 2028, he will become 38 years old, and we would need a replacement.
For those who do not know about Kim Do Yeong, here is some info on him.
He was born in October of 2003 so will be 25 years old for the 2028 season.
He entered the KBO in 2022 and has now played in 5 seasons.
In 2024, he helped his team become the champions of the KBO winning the Korean series and he was the regular season MVP at just 21 years old.
2026 season, he has hit 45 HR, 118 RBI, .308 BA with a war of 8.9. Yes this is the KBO, so perhaps we can take those numbers with a grain of salt, but there was a post on Instagram that showed the world WAR leaders and he was second to only to Pete Crow Armstrong. 2024, he became the youngest player to have a 30/30 season. 2026, he became the youngest player in the KBO with 40+ HR, 100+ RBI, 100+ runs scored.
He is currently playing in the KBO playoffs and he has helped his team dispatch the LG Twins, the team that won the championship in 2025. This was the Semi-Playoffs and he was picked as the MVP. He only had 3 hits but all were homeruns, one being a grand slam. His team is now entering a matchup in the next round with the Samsung Lions.
On top of this, he was on the Korean National Team that played in the Asian Games a few months back where they beat Team Japan for the Gold Medal. He has now also received his military exemption with that accomplishment.
Some things of concern...
We never have really seen a good position player, strong bat come out of Korea. Choo Shin Soo is there, but a lot of other players, like Kim Ha Seong, had a good season or two but that is about it. Lee Jung Hoo of SF Giants had a great stretch this season and then crashed We even see the struggle of our own beloved Kim Hyeseong, so we need to see how his bat translates over.
Also, he missed almost the entirety of the 2025 season with hamstring injuries. He ended up playing only 30 games or so. Other than that, though, it does not seem he has any other injury concerns at this time.
I know Sato from Japan just got posted and a lot of people are high on him as well. But Korean players have typically gotten smaller, cheaper contracts and with the possible lockout, contract changes in the future, perhaps something to consider as well.
Sorry if the post was so long but just wanted to share something on another off day. Be well and as always, let's go Dodgers!

So much clutch hits in the Rays and Guardians series. Can anybody explain why or how exactly our bats went cold in the playoffs? Were Braves and Brewers pitching really that good? Dodgers were near the top for 2 out RBIâs leader during the regular season.
Edit: I include the nlds for going 1/16 with risp

Me personally, I can't remember the last sports championship I missed.
When my team's out, I'm just watching as a neutral observer, seeing if history gets made somehow or just whatever.
