Still the loudest i’ve ever heard Dodger Stadium
I was there and there was an earthquake at Dodger stadium. Can’t believe we threw this game away. Ryan Madson you are my enemy.

[Ardaya] Andrew Friedman said surgery is "not on the table" for Shohei Ohtani. Said it was "whack a mole" between the knee, then the biceps throughout the year. Friedman: "I fully expect him to pitch next year."

[Maddie Lee] Dodgers' Dalton Rushing is undergoing right elbow surgery today, per sources. It's expected to be a hybrid internal brace procedure. The expected timeline to return to catching full time is 9 months, with a return to hitting well before then.
Should've gotten it a few weeks back when he was left off the playoff rosters...

Imagine seeing this screenshot back in 2010
I would have went crazy thinking Pujols signed with us for +10 years

Hot take: Even though his performance in Game 4 of the 2025 NLCS is called “the greatest game,” Shohei Ohtani was even more impressive in Game 3 of that year’s World Series.

Off-the-field issues aside, how did you feel about this man as a Dodger?
r/Dodgers • u/PrincessBananas85 • 29m ago
Shohei Ohtani won't need surgery, expected to pitch in 2027
[Ardaya] Andrew Friedman said it's "business as usual" in terms of the Dodgers' resources, even with Mark Walter under federal investigation. Friedman said he spoke with Walter after the Dodgers' postseason exit.
Update from Andrew Friedman. It will be business as usual.

Watched two press conferences today
Having heard from Brandon and Andrew (really just Andrew) and Hal and Cashman today, I can’t emphasize enough how lucky we are relative to our most comparable competitor (and historic rival) the Yankees.
I feel lucky, we all should, and I feel bad for Yankees fans, except really I don’t feel bad for them.

Looking for Brooklyn "Dodgers" Trivia/Stories from the 1880's
Hi Dodger Fans...I come in peace from the r/SFGiants.
I'm working on a deep history video project (to go up on YouTube/TikTok/Instagram) about the founding of both the Giants and Dodgers, covering the periods of 1881-ish to 1890. I tend to overdo things, so this is going to be a long video series about how baseball needed to be saved by returning to New York (and Brooklyn), and the stories of these two franchises and how they are connected.
That said...I'm very Giants focused, since I'm a Giants fan, but I want to make sure that I'm giving the history from Brooklyn equal respect and time.
I've done a lot of research into Charles Byrne as the main protagonist for the Brooklyn side. I'm going to go into these topics:
• The Brooklyn Atlantics, whose long history led to them almost being included in the National League founding but then getting cut last-minute.
• Byrne getting the idea to start a new Brooklyn team, and him trying to join the AA but getting squeezed out by the new Metropolitans, then joining in 1883 after a year in the minor Inter-State League.
• Byrne's rivalries within the AA, particularly with St. Louis owner Chris von den Ahe, and of course with Jim Mutrie of the Metropolitans (and later the Giants), especially the 1885 offseason controversial ways of signing "free agents" done by both Byrne and Mutrie.
• Byrne's fan-friendly ideas such as "Ladies Day" to help get fans to behave better at games in the presence of women, the "Rain Check" for fans, and the first "non-smoking" section for fans in MLB.
• The Metropolitans being cast off in favor of their sister team (the Giants), and being absorbed into Brooklyn's team.
• The 1889 "Bridegrooms" team that won the AA and faced the Giants in the World's Series under Bill "Gunner" McGunnigle.
• And everything in 1890 around the Player's League, Brooklyn moving to the NL and Byrne being a part of the league's war committee.
• Finally, of course, a running gag will be the ticket-taker that Byrne hired quickly on Opening Day 1883 who kept getting promoted (almost accidentally), but who started buying ownership shares, especially as George Chauncey's disruptive ownership takeover ended, and would become perhaps one of the most iconic names in Dodgers history.
I'm a member of SABR, and have been reviewing newspaper articles and referencing the book "When the Dodgers Were Bridegrooms", which has been a wonderful source.
However, I know that I'm very much lacking in the depth of Dodgers knowledge that I have in Giants knowledge...hence, my humble request from Dodger fans.
Do you know of any stories or trivia from these earliest years of the Brooklyn Base Ball Association that might be interesting to fans? From Byrne, to the players, or anything else regarding the franchise?
Thank you in advance!

“H🏀🏀P Season” The Soohoo Scrapbook
“When becoming rattled setting up to photograph this group pic at Came back Ranch, I was so happy getting all the lighting right and ducks in order, I completely rushed the shoot not realizing the props Mookie and Kiké were holding completely messing up the potential 2026 Media Guide cover...It eventually worked for something else..
Happy H🏀🏀P season. Sorry Dorado!🤣”

[Highlight] Nine years ago last night, Enrique “Kiké” José Hernández González Jr. became the first Dodger to belt three homers in a postseason game in Game 5 of the 2017 NLCS, punching the Dodgers’ ticket to their first World Series in 29 years. He was a 3-run homer short of the home run cycle.

[Dodgers Nation] Fox averaged 7,533,000 viewers per NLCS game across Fox and FS1, the highest LCS average on any network since 2015. Even with LA down 0-3, Game 4 averaged 6,135,000.
[Nethercott] News out of Japan: The Hanshin Tigers are officially accepting Teruaki Sato's posting request and will be coming to the states. He will be posted ASAP and is expected to be signed before the lockout.

They’re brought me joy for the last two years…and I know management will do whatever they can to get them back to the top. I’m not worried.

A plan to get us through the Winter until Spring Training starts
So if we only watch the winning games from this season, and not necessarily watch every day (maybe take the weekends off or watch every other day?) will that get us through until Spring Training starts? Ran it by the wife and she's all for it. Now I just have to find where we can watch the games we want. I guess I should have used the built-in DVR. I'm bored without Dodger baseball. It's going to be a long Winter. Any other suggestions?
