I’m a huge fan of Big Barda, and this is the best Barda cover I’ve ever seen.

Let's face it, comics can be confusing. No matter how big or small your question may be this is the place to ask and r/DCcomics will do our best to answer it for you!
As the r/DCcomics community continues to grow we are receiving an influx questions from readers of DC comics, or simply new readers to comics entirely. As Stan Lee has said, every comic book is someone's first, and even though he maybe be one of those other guys it certainly applies here as well. With this spirit in mind, these Q'n'A topics are intended to give those who may be puzzled a centralized place to connect with other knowledgable readers and clear up some confusion.
A new Ask the Veterans thread is posted every Sunday, and in the future answers to these questions will be organized into this subreddit's wiki page.
To those answering
Avoid vague replies like "yes" or "no". Rather do your best to explain your answer, and if necessary provide a link that may help anyone interested in learning more. Remember to hide spoilers when discussing major events that have taken place within one year of its release..

The art style is the same as Gerads in the book with all the distorted images but I’m still wondering how the hell they are gonna do it in main universe

I've watched all the DC animated content over the years, but recently, I've been re-watching JL Unlimited.
This show is so good. It's smart, edgy, plus the dialog, and relationships between the characters is better than anything that was on the air at the time. This show holds up incredibly well.
My son was very young when it aired originally on tv so he and I have gone back and just fell in love with this series.
Characters I adore like The Question and Booster Gold are featured positively, not quite prominently, but enough.
What is the consensus? Do you all agree that it holds up to today's content or is it just not your type thing?

I'll throw Invincible in. My guy gets a diabolical beating every few months, but he keeps coming back. Such an indomitable human spirit would surely be a great Green Lantern even without Viltrumite powers once he matures a little.

Even noble heroes have messy personal lives and cheat on their partners, so is there really any character who stays ride or die for just one lover and never gets tangled up with anyone else?

My first introduction to The Flash was when I watched the CW show as a teenager. I read a ton of Barry Allen comics, but I never really got into Wally. Now, as an adult, I find myself gravitating much more to characters like Superman, Nightwing, Wonder Woman, and Batman than Barry. I never thought much about Wally, but I heard good things about this run, so I gave it a shot, and I’m so very glad I did. I really and truly adore Ryan North and Gavin Guidry’s current Flash run. I love how fun it is, I love how relatable it is, and I love the story.
Probably my favorite thing about this current run is that Wally is just a guy. He’s happily married with kids, and he dedicated a great deal to maintaining his personal life. It’s so sweet and mundane and it’s just great. This is the kind of thing I often want more of in Superman and Nightwing comics. In a lot of ways, Wally is the most “normal” of all the DC heroes, at least in modern day comic series (Although if there are others I’m not aware of, please let me know because I love a relatable superhero).
Guidry’s art is also incredible, I love it when artists match the tone of a book, and Guidry captures the whimsy of North’s story perfectly. The “choose your own adventure” two-page splash in issue 34 was especially fun. Guidry reminds me a lot of Bruno Redondo’s work on Nightwing in how they both innovate the page in interesting ways.
The rogues are great. The Captain Collin teamup in issue 33 was so fun, and the confrontation with Heat Wave in issue 35 was very dynamic.
I really love the story of how any average person can fall victim to a fascist ideology without even knowing it. Wally clearly and obviously is a good person and means well, but thus he thinks he’s immune to problematic ideologies and actions, but he isn’t. No one is. And this hits especially hard because it’s Wally, who the story makes a point to represent as a typical guy.
And as a side note, I never really cared much for Green Arrow, but issue 36 gave me a new appreciation for him. So if anyone has any recommendations for beginner Green Arrow books, that would be awesome.
I have yet to read issue 37, so no spoilers please. I’d like to know what everyone thinks, as well as any potential recommendations for other Wally West books that have a similar vibe (if there are any)
(Covers by Gavin Guidry, Adriano Lucas, and Giovanna Niro)

I was sad that nothing happened after this. Why didnt they even bother to make it and just make it short before Flashpoint??
