Film/Television Did Marvel forget that Spider-Man AI Karen was originally created by Tony Stark?

Post image
2.6k Upvotes

It’s kinda odd that Karen, the AI of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, is absent from Disney Plus VisionQuest. Not that she is needed in the show, but she did play a role in Tony Stark and Peter story.

She is part of what tied those two characters together in the MCU.

Maybe they couldn’t get the actress for VisionQuest, or she’s just not there because she was tied to Spider-Man original suit from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Film/Television Peter Parker - One of the most heartbreaking and saddest character arc of all time.

Post image
115 Upvotes

In Civil War, Peter was just a 14-year-old kid, full of life, making jokes, excited to meet Tony Stark and prove that he could be a hero. He had Aunt May, Ned, MJ, and a life outside being Spider-Man. He was just a happy, innocent kid who had so much to look forward to, never knowing how much life was about to take away from him.

And then there's BND. Peter has lost literally everything. Aunt May is gone, Tony is gone, Happy doesn't remember him, Ned doesn't remember him, and MJ, the girl he loves, doesn't even know who he is anymore. He saved the entire world, only to be forgotten by it. And despite having nobody left, he's still willing to risk his life to save Jean from being shot by the Punisher, nearly dying in the process. Just think about that for a second. A guy who has absolutely nothing left for himself is still putting someone else's life before his own. He went from a kid who wanted to be an Avenger to a man who has lost everything and still refuses to stop being Spider-Man.

I genuinely think this is one of the best character arcs in the entire MCU.

Comics Is Gamora REALLY the deadliest woman in the Marvel Universe? Who actually belongs in the top 5?

Post image

Thanos calls Gamora the deadliest woman in the universe, but I'm calling that into question. Being the galaxy's best assassin doesn't necessarily mean you're the most dangerous woman on a battlefield.

Honestly, I'm not convinced Gamora even beats Proxima Midnight in a straight fight. Proxima has superhuman strength, durability, and a weapon capable of killing some seriously powerful opponents. And what about Hela, Angela, or Supergiant? Are we really putting Gamora above women who can take on gods, devastate entire teams, or turn the strongest enemy into their own worst nightmare?

I'm talking about DEADLIEST, not necessarily most powerful. Who would you least want to face if your life depended on it?

Excluding mutants, Captain Marvel, and Scarlet Witch, who are your top five?

Film/Television Gotta appreciate the MCU for giving Thomas Shepherd representation

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

When it comes Marvel Comics, Thomas Sheppard/Speed, the reincarnated son of Scarlet Witch and Vision, barley get any type of representation, despite being equally important to to his twin brother William Kaplan/Wiccan.

Wiccan has his own comics, his own personal connections to characters like Teddy Altman/Hulking, etc.

This is the most representation we got with Thomas and I am having fun with it.

I am enjoying VisionQuest and watching Thomas journey with his father as they both discover their identity and relationship years after Wanda created the hex in WestView.

Film/Television Personally, I don't consider Black Panther to be "Team Iron Man" in Civil War. When you look at the core foundation of the Sokovia Accords being an authority to heroes like T'Challa who is not only the protector of his people but was also in line to become the king of Wakanda in Civil War.

The only reason he sided with Tony and could be technically considered as "Team Iron Iron Man" was because that was the best way for him to get to the one person he wanted the most throughout the movie thought to have a role in his father's death. He was essentially part of a kingdom that was hidden for centuries from the outside world in terms of its scientific advancement and its control over Vibranium. Not to mention that his own father, T'Chaka, had come to the US to stop his brother from selling vibranium to others and had even had to kill him in the heat of the moment.

There was no logical way that T'Challa would bow down to an international organization over their control of a mineral that his whole country was based on. This was exactly one of the key plot points of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where other countries were trying to steal Vibranium, and the Dora Milaje was sent on international waters to stop them from stealing this resource. The whole structure of taking orders from an outside entity and operating where they tell you to go is something I don't think T'Challa would have accepted in the form of the Sokovia Accords in Civil War, in my opinion.

Film/Television I know I'm 5 years late, but Marvel struck absolute gold with Shang Chi

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

I hit massive superhero fatigue and the only thing I watched after Loki S1 was Fantastic Four and No Way Home, which were great. But with the release of Doomsday coming out, I have been rewatching almost everything. Skipped Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, and Helstrom each after a couple episodes. But I just got to Shang Chi and this might be the best Marvel project they've ever done. I do with there was less cgi in fight scenes but meh. The creatures in Ta Lo, the fight scenes, Trevor, Wong and Abomination, Katy is such a relatable character. I love just about everything this movie brought to the table

Film/Television Would Thor win against Hela if he had stormbreaker

Thumbnail

I imagine two possible timelines:

  1. Thor does not learn about his powers because he uses Stormbreaker as a crutch. Thor stopped in nidavelir before getting into Asgard.
  2. Basically infinity war Thor vs Hela

IMO if Thor did not learn about his true powers he would still lose to Thanos if he menaged to win against Hela. The difference here is that Stomrbreaker amplifies his powers instead of focusing. So in the second scenario Thor would be vastly stronger than in ragnarok while in the first he might be around the same power but with a blade that is much sharper

Film/Television What are some scenes/interactions you’d like to see in Doomsday?

Post image

For me, I’d really like a fight scene where Sam, Bucky, and Steve are all using the shield between each other. We’ve never seen them act as one cohesive unit before so it’d be cool to see imo. I also don’t know if this is possible, but if Bucky could somehow get his version of Cap’s uniform that’d be cool too.

Them recreating the pose would be sauce

Comics Jocasta and Ultron were never a couple in the comics. She rejected him like the majority of his other “children” (with the exception of Ultronica). Spoiler

It’s interesting how different Jocasta, and Ultron’s origin is different from the comics (albeit obviously a lot of the MCU lore isn’t an accurate representation of the source material).

Ultron was created by Hank Pym, Jocasta was created by Ultron as his ideal bride (He based her brain patterns on Janet Van Dyne’s, much like Pym modeled Ultron’s brain patterns based on his own).

Also, her name is Jocasta not “Jacosta”.
