The [Weekly Pull List results]() for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is DC's Doom Patrol #2.

This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the latest issue of DC's Doom Patrol or any new books shipping this week.

The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.

The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.

Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

Happy weekend, everybody!

In this thread, you can talk about:

  • What you've been reading this week
  • What you've been watching this week
  • What you've been listening to this week
  • What you've been doing this week
  • Basically anything that isn't overly offensive or anything like that. I don't know, be "responsible!"

Question Is there any way for digital coloring to emulate the effect of the original newsprint?

(Image from The Incredible Hulk #312)The first image is digital and the second image is a scan. This isn't meant to be a salty post or completely hate on digital recolorings (although I do dislike a lot of them.) Is there any way for them to actually emulate how the colors looked on newsprint? I feel like SO much of the emotion is lost with the digital colors. I do think some of the colors aren't completely one to one, which is a different issue.

Custom comic box

Laminated some images and put them inside an unmodified store bought acrylic box. The box is approximately the size of a short box. Purpose was to be able to put the boxes in a bookcase and look nice alongside books.

On a side note, I just uploaded this post a few minutes ago then deleted it as the photo contained metadata such as the GPS location where the photo was taken, what phone model took the photo, etc. Not something I wanted so I subsequently took a screenshot of the photo on the monitor which captures no metadata.

Discussion BLEEDING HEARTS by DENIZ CAMP is....Book of the year?

Remember when Assorted Crisis Events got named BOOK OF THE YEAR, and everyone jumped into it and realized they had been missing out? Or do you remember when Absolute Martian Manhunter won the Eisner earlier this year for BEST LIMITED SERIES?

Those books put me on to Deniz Camp and had me pick up Bleeding Hearts. I, myself, am NOT a huge fan of zombie stories. I thought this book wouldn't be for me at all. However, this has got to be my most anticipated book coming out every single month, AHEAD of the ABSOLUTE LINE. Every single issue moves the story along extremely well and I'm left with more understanding of the world as well as more intrigue and curiosity. There is always some sort of major event that happens that I wasn't expecting, a thrilling cliffhanger, and deep character development that keeps getting me, as the reader, more and more invested in this book.

In my opinion, this is not just another book coming out just to put something out. This is more high quality, passion driven work from Camp. I wouldn't be surprised to see this book all of a sudden get a ton of recognition at the end of the year like ASE got.

Every issue has at least a 4.2 rating on League of Comic Geeks, and the ratings are getting higher with each issue, with the most recent being a 4.5. That is a wildly successful reader score trend 8 issues into the series.

This book is a gem, imo. What do you think of Bleeding Hearts?

News Spider-Man: Noir returns in 2027. Venom will appear in the very first issue.

Fans of Peter Parker’s detective-themed adventures didn’t have to wait long for good news. Marvel Comics is preparing a limited-run comic book series titled *Spider-Man: Noir*, created by Alex Segura and Farid Karami. The first issue will hit stores in early 2027, presenting the hero with a difficult moral choice.

The live-action Spider-Noir series, produced in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video, will not be getting a second season. The series, starring Nicolas Cage, was met with an enthusiastic reception, earning a 92% critics’ score and a 90% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its critical success, the project was halted due to behind-the-scenes conflicts over copyright and technology.

The main reason for the actor’s split with the studio was his strong convictions regarding artificial intelligence. During an appearance at New York Comic Con, Nicolas Cage confirmed that he refused to sign an AI waiver. The star criticized Amazon’s technology policies and announced that he would likely no longer work with the company, opting instead for independent projects and a role in the upcoming fifth season of HBO’s *True Detective*.

However, the brand has not been abandoned, and the character is returning to his roots. Marvel Comics has announced a new, limited-run comic book series titled *Spider-Man: Noir*, created by writer Alex Segura and artist Farid Karami. The first issue will hit the market on February 10, 2027.

Discussion "Echo - Vision Quest" by David Mack is just outstanding

I was re-reading my TPB of ECHO - The Saga of Maya Lopez", and the second story included in it, Vision Quest (Daredevil #51 to 55) is such a bold and unique take, at least when it comes to traditional cape comics. A deep character introspection with super creative art that mixes multiple techniques and styles. An ode to stories and the power and influence they can have on us and other people. Just felt like sharing my appreciation for it. The first story in the book is also pretty damn good to be honest.
