Announcement New AI Generated Content Guidelines 🤖
Hey everyone,
There has been an increase in AI generated content being posted to the sub, particularly concept designs and interpretations of what a future Camaro could look like. We’ve also received some feedback from members about these posts, so the mod team discussed how we want to handle them going forward.
Rather than banning AI generated content outright, we’re going to try a middle ground for now.
Effective immediately, AI generated content must:
- Use the new 🤖 AI Generated post flair
- Clearly disclose that the content was generated using AI
- Include the AI tool or engine used
- Include the prompt or a general description of the inspiration behind the generated content
- Have some level of effort or discussional value beyond simply posting an AI generated image
Low effort AI posts, repetitive concepts, spam, or content that otherwise doesn’t contribute anything meaningful to the community may still be removed at moderator discretion.
This is essentially a trial run (now reflected in rule #7). We want to leave room for members who enjoy creating Camaro concepts and discussing what future models could look like without letting the subreddit become flooded with low effort AI images.
We’ll see how this works in practice and adjust the guidelines if necessary. If AI content continues to become a problem, we may revisit whether it should be allowed at all.
As always, community feedback is welcome.

💬 Discussion Renting a v6 camaro. Not bad.
Currently renting a V6 soft top Camaro 2017. Automatic rental spec of course.
I was usually the guy to say why are you even buying a muscle car if you aren’t going to get all eight cylinders
And after driving this for about 20 minutes… I understand. Not a bad car. Chassis is good, interior is decent, seats are comfortable and this 300 hp is enough for getting up and going.
Not bad. Looks pretty good too.

💲Should I Buy? Should i sell this to get an SS?
I currently own an e36 m3 and im itching for a v8 (almost any v8 as long as its manual). Im thinking of selling my m3 and getting an SS 2014-2015. Without being bias what would you do if you were me? Am i being ungrateful with what i have? Or is the desire for a v8 valid enough to sell this and get a gen 5 SS?

🛠️ Problem Weird cold start surge
Hey everyone! I have a modified Camaro, LT2 intake manifold, K&N cold air intake and flex fuel. Currently running E85. When I start it the car starts low rpm then high and bounces between 700-1300 without me touching the pedal. I haven’t tested since I tightened all the couplers for the intake tube on the K&N. Any ideas what this could be? After it runs for 20 seconds it’s fine

🛠️ Problem Steering wheel controls not working
Hello everyone i just bought a new camaro rs 2016 and for some reason my steering wheel controls don’t work at all and I installed the 2ss dash cluster and my rpm needle don’t work also it always point at zero im using an external obd gauge to see my rpm
The steering wheel controls it was not working even before I installed the cluster
I went to the mechanic and he told me it just need to be programmed and the will cost me 880 bucks and I think its ridiculous price for just programming the steering wheel controls and the cluster
So if anyone can give me a way or a tip on how to fix my problem

🛠️ Problem Wheel shaking issue…
Hey yall, i was having some minor wheel shake so i took the car to discount tire to get the wheels balanced, they did it and told me the left side was pretty bad and the right side was fine. and now im driving and it feels even worse, the steering wheel is shaking more, usually at 45-65 mph, and also when coming to a stop. they put 19 ounces on the rear left wheel and 16 ounces on the front left one, the right rear has no weights and the front right has 3 ounces. i dont know much about wheel balancing or suspension stuff and im a little confused. pls lmk what yall think the issue could be or how i should go about diagnosing jt. thanks

💬 Discussion Car and Driver 7th Gen Camaro report: V8 + Manual combo rumored, but would you accept a 4-door option?
Car and Driver’s latest report on the 7th-gen Camaro brings big news for enthusiasts. The report suggests GM is working on an updated Alpha 2 chassis, retaining a small-block V8 and manual gearbox, while also exploring a 4-door model alongside the traditional 2-door coupe.

As Camaro owners and fans:
- Would you welcome a 4-door Camaro if it keeps the V8 and RWD handling dynamics intact, or should it strictly remain a 2-door coupe?
- What key issues from the 6th gen (such as visibility or trunk loading space) do you hope Chevy addresses on this new Alpha 2 chassis?

💬 Discussion Keep Building My Modified 2018 Camaro 2SS Hot Wheels Edition or Save for a C8 Z06? Need Some Honest Opinions.
I currently own a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition with approximately 96,000 miles, and I’m debating whether it’s worth investing another $30,000 into the car or saving that money toward a 2024-2028 C8 Corvette Z06.
I love my Camaro and plan on keeping it long-term, regardless of whether I eventually purchase a Corvette. However, I’m starting to question whether investing another $25K plus into it makes sense compared to the C8 Z06.
Camaro setup:
6.2L LT1 V8
8L90 8-speed automatic transmission
AWE Track Edition cat-back exhaust
Stainless Power 1-7/8” long-tube headers with 3” high-flow cats
MSD Atomic AirForce intake manifold
Soler Performance 107mm throttle body
K&N cold-air intake
DSX flex-fuel kit (E85)
Custom ECU tune with AFM disabled
BMR rear cradle lockout and suspension components
The car previously made approximately 448 whp on E85 and 430 whp on pump gas.
Modifications I’ve been considering:
If I decide to invest another $25k-$30K, I would potentially go with:
GPI SS3 camshaft package
CNC-ported LT1 cylinder heads
416 Cubic Inch Engine
Upgraded oil pump and fueling components
Circle D 3400–3600 RPM stall converter or custom made
Possibly forced induction instead of remaining naturally aspirated (undecided)
Here’s my dilemma:
I’m fully aware that a properly built or boosted Camaro could potentially outperform a stock Z06 in straight-line racing.
But that’s not necessarily my goal.
I’m more interested in the overall driving experience, handling, technology, reliability, and whether the additional investment into my Camaro is financially worthwhile.
At 96K miles, I’m also concerned about spending another $30k on performance modifications and potentially introducing more mechanical complications.
For those who own a modified sixth-gen Camaro, a C8 Z06, or have experience with both:
Would you invest another $20K plus into this Camaro at its current mileage?
Would a cammed, heads-and-converter LT1 provide enough of a performance improvement to justify the cost?
Would you avoid forced induction on a 96K-mile stock-bottom-end LT1?
How different is the C8 Z06 driving experience compared with a heavily modified sixth-gen Camaro?
If you intended to keep the Camaro permanently, would you leave it relatively close to its current setup and save for the Z06 instead?
I’m leaning toward keeping the Camaro as my modified V8 weekend car and eventually adding a C8 Z06 to the garage rather than continuing to invest substantial money into trying to make the Camaro perform like a Corvette.

Photo / Video Pre car meet fill up - Throwback Thursday
My best friend and I were always into anything motorsports from day 1. We would always do dumb stuff with our cars when we first got them. He has this classic car now so we try and meet up every Saturday for a local show. He blew the brake fuse twice that day (lol) but I wanted to take this picture with them parked up next to eachother. I included some throwbacks too in the spirit of it being Thursday - also the end of my first car era and into the beginning of the Camaro era

🏁 Other Survey for school project
Hi everyone! I'm conducting a High School research engineering project investigating wind buffeting when driving two-door coupes with the side windows open. I'm looking for current or recent owners of vehicles such as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette, Camaro, Dodge Challenger, and other two-door coupes to share their experiences. The survey takes less than 3 minutes and asks about your vehicle, interest, and experience with wind buffeting. Your participation is optional, but your feedback will help me better figure out how different coupe designs and driving conditions affect wind buffeting.
Survey link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdEIxSHNbodjJVZ-AD_L9DPKE3ALZ5iHlod5gZQX7eMADdgRw/viewform?usp=header
Thank you for helping with my research! Feel free to share this post with other coupe owners, if permitted by the group.
